I also received a response to my Wanted ad from him. Awkwardly worded message, 1 post on the site and Dec '19 join date, all red flags.

Help I.D. Wood Bandsaw and Questions

Holy cow, THANKS! Well, since it appears to be true vintage I don’t think I’ll worry about converting it. I’ll peck away at getting it back in good working condition. That’s so cool to think it’s a 30’s machine, I really figured it was a 60’s / 70’s piece. Btw, what site is OWWM ?

Help I.D. Wood Bandsaw and Questions

I have a bandsaw from my grandfather’s shop (cool!). No idea on age but it was there when I was little back in the 70’s. I still need to clean it but I can’t find any obvious branding on it anywhere, any ideas? It’s a wood cutting unit, could it be as easy as changing the blade to use it for...

    Are These Lights Any Good?

Among other stuff, I need to buy lights for a new pole barn (no electrical installed yet). These are for sale locally, would they be worth buying? "used 400 watt metal halide lights multi tap ballast 120v, 208v, 240v, 277v. All lights are in good working order and come with bulbs."

    New from Georgia

Thanks for the pics, they're perfect. I'd love to end up with as much room as you have but I think, @ 17' wide, mine will still be workable.

    My Siding Is Turning Green!

I got a product called "JoMax" from Home Depot that worked really quick and easy. I mixed it with a little water and sprayed my vinyl siding, waited about 15 minutes and then hosed it off with a garden hose (no pressure washer). It's been about 8 months so far, it all looks great. The mildew has...

    New from Georgia

Nice shop Blake. Great pics, I'm about to build a similar sized pole barn (18x36x14). Got any pics with a car or truck inside for scale? I saw your post about the shop being uninsulated and hot. How about air movement, with only having one big door on the one end do you get any breeze or...

    Building stairs

I'm planning a shop build and want a loft. I'm trying to figure out where to put the stairs but I'm unsure how long an area they will cover, is there a standard formula for building stairs? The loft will be 8' above the slab, how far/long should the stairs extend?

    New Shop Advice Please

Ok, I'm about to have a small shop built and want to make sure I get it right... It will be an 18'x36'x14' pole barn with a single man door, and a single 12'x12' roll up door, all on a 4" reinforced slab. The roll up door will be on the narrow end so it'll look like an RV garage. I'm also...

    My New Garage

Thanks for the info and like you, initially, I didn't consider the actual interior width. I'm stuck with 18' wide because of my lot and septic system but I'll be going 36' deep for a little more room (also doing a small loft like you so my kids can have a play area). You've got a nice looking...

    Howdy Folks!

I'm the new guy from Alabama. :tard: Saw a link to this site on another forum and wandered over. Plans are to build a 18x36x14 pole barn this summer and I want to make sure I do it right the 1st time! Looks like a TON of info here so I doubt I'll get anything done here at work for a few days...
