I did not. My best bid was $250. It went for $275, but there's not telling how high the winning bidder was willing to go.
BTW - You **** on that score!
Brian
I would be making an artsy-fartsy wall hanging decoration out of that National. Way cool.Drill Indexes, Morse and National, unfortunately the National has a broken foot.
I totally get this. I have way too many empty boxes from even less obscure brands cluttering up my spaces to remind me when I start to slip...My thoughts about "Brazil" are that it's really cool and unusual, but then I would want to start collecting Brazil tools to put in it, and how difficult that would be. So I passed on it.
I keeping thinking I've seen this name before and I keep waiting for the lightbulb to go ping, but it's not.

Well I accidentally went shopping this morning......

Very fancy (gothic) script Gautage? Guanarge? Giturga? with model number 2529 U.S.A.
I keeping thinking I've seen this name before and I keep waiting for the lightbulb to go ping, but it's not.
Anybody?

(like I said: Good Man!!!)

Here's something different, how about tools you own that you forgot you owned.
Not a Garage Sale find, but a tool I (re)-acquired. Father is on vacation with his wife and kids for a week so he asked me to go check in on garden and mow a patch of grass today, while there I poked around in the garage and found this, a Craftsman Made in USA scroll saw he bought me as a Christmas gift probably 15-20 years ago. Decided to bring it home with me, and even though it was used and abused by a 10-13 year old kid it still works fine, will need a small cleanup though.

Well done, Jake. BTDT on eBay myself a few times...BTDT
Nice toolbox. Between that and the tools, you'll easily get your money back. [emoji106]
Speaking of which ............
I went on an eBay bender last weekend. 4 sellers, 5 wrenches. The boxes showed up in the mailbox today. My mail carrier must really hate me. One package weighed a little over 15#'s by itself. All Williams, only the big boy is from the SnapOn era. The prices weren't bad, which fed the madness. With shipping, the binge was a little over $100. Not a great deal, but good enough. The 2-1/2" can sell for more than that by itself. I can't repeat that this weekend, we've got HJE Day coming next week and I've got my eye on something with a green selector on it.

The picture is before cleanup. The wrenches are in better shape than they look right now.

US pick mattock
12" & 8" Klein, 4" Proto adjustable wrenches
edit: general photo obstinately refusing to load. Cyber-attack?
Hit up an estate sale 30 miles away in Springhill LA because the pictures made it look good.
I saw a bunch of cans of Kano Kroil so I hoped they were cheap. Only $2 each but after a couple of us smelled them we all agreed they had been refilled with something else so I passed.
First day so full price, no haggling and some stuff was overpriced. I still spent $157, should make it back selling a couple of items on Ebay.
Pic 1: Craftsman and Sears, my favorites is the all metal small hammer which is Circle H along with the 3/8D sliding T-bar below it.
Pic 2: Top part is Williams, most with "IP" markings for International Paper which used to have a plant in town. There is one Vulcan wrench too along some S-K, Husky, Indestro and others.
Pic 3: From top, Stephen Walden Spin Tite nutdriver set, ACOA Cat No 4300 Armor Clip Bolt DBE wrench?, USA Petersen sheetmetal vise grips, Proto Challenger ratchet and socket, Klein red handle side cutters and a few other items.
Pic 4: A box of wire wheels had new Weiler wire wheels along with some good use ones, other items include a Craftsman Circle H speed handle, Collins hatchet, mini Master padlock with key and hammer handles from the closed Bruner Ivory company in Hope Arkansas.
Pic 5: Hanson number and letter punch sets, two Starrett No 85C caliper sets with 1950 brochures and a Starrett snap gage.
Pic 6: Sears 1992 big book, 3 Snap On / Blue point pullers and a Texaco oil can. I also had a General Electric paint thinner can but gave it to my buddy who used to work for GE.
Pic 7: After dropping off the GE can with my buddy we snuck off to another sale that had tools. Not much left but I picked up this Craftsman adjustable wrench and miter vise for picture frames for $20 total.
Edit, can't get pictures to load, will try later.
Wish I could get over to some of them, but we're laying new flooring in the downstairs this weekend. There's only one sale near enough to my morning route today that qualifies as "on the way. It is also meh.I needed to get out of the house.
Only two sales listed near me with tools, both meh.
One was in an area that's a PITA for me to get to, so I went to the other one.
MEH.
$2
SK #72128 8" screwdriver (the tip was slightly bent, not anymore)
Stanley #64-846 fine screwdriver
a spool of #7 brown cotton braided cord
That's it.
A couple prospects for tomorrow, but I'm still deciding how I feel about them.
