Well, this *****. I thought their goal was to get rid of these items, so I was hoping we'd see some further price drops after 10/5.

It looked like the local store didn't sell any of these for $30.94 (48% off), but now the price is $37.94: Craftsman Sit/Stand/Tote Truck

An even bigger jump for the workbench I posted at the start of the sale. From $212.94 to $259.94: Craftsman 6' Premium Heavy-Duty Workbench w/ Butcher Block Top

And this one has been strange. Was $6.94 at the start and $9.94 at the end. Now it's $8.94: Craftsman 13 pc. Extreme Grip Bit Driver Set

If any of you use air tools, SD says this usually goes on sale for $150 and hasn't been this low before. Even back in 2011, a reviewer mentioned it only going on sale for around $130.

Craftsman ProSeries 1/2" Composite Impact Wrench - https://www.sears.com/craftsman-pro...sional-composite-impact-wrench/p-00919865000P
$69.94 blowout sale, $199.99 regularly

From the reviews... a few people apparently got defective weak ones, but the vast majority are like this:

"I've owned this gun for over a year now and it's incredible. I bought the smaller craftsman half inch impact before this and it couldn't stand up to daily use, but this one doesn't have that problem. I use it for lug nuts mostly, but I've used it in other places, too. It's lightweight and powerful, and deceptively quiet. It still makes noise, but not nearly the same levels as other top end impacts. If you work in a shop, or just need a quality impact for regular use, I wholly recommend this one. It lasts, and it's around 1/4 of the price of a tool truck."

"Great impact wrench. I use it every day at work and I have yet to have any problems with it. Used in a heavy duty equipment yard for CSX rail yard and it really holds up."

"Bought this one after old IR died (after many years). I had limited funds and got this one on sale and couldn't be happier. I like it MORE than my old IR, and more than coworkers S O brand. I had it about 3 1/2 years now using it all day everyday, NO PROBLEMS. I do oil it everyday so I'm sure that helps but even if it were to die tomorrow I would have gotten my money's worth and then some. And yes I would buy another one."

"I bought this gun to replace the cheap-o impact gun that my shop bought me (which had no place being in a shop). After a few hours of research and comparing the price against other top brands (IR, S-O) I decided to give Craftsman the benefit of the doubt. Initially my biggest concern was that it was not made in America, but after looking at leading competitors specs I found that not many impact wrenches were made in America, odd. Took it to the shop the following day, not knowing what to expect in terms of performance. I got a pleasant surprise when I plugged this thing in, the power is unreal. It has no problem holding it's own against the IR & S-O guns used by my peers, at a fraction of the cost. This gun is significantly quieter than the cheap underpowered gun I had before, I didn't know it was possible to make impact's so muffled. I've used the IR and S-O guns, both of which sound like amplified velociraptors in comparison to the Craftsman Pro. This gun packs the power required in a professional shop. The compact size & lightweight design are unbeatable, it can easily replace the need for a 3/8 gun. The "forward/reverse" switch makes this gun extremely easy to use with one hand, awesome feature. Being able to use it all day without getting a headache is a major bonus. I've been using it for a month & a half now (longer than my previous gun lasted) with the same satisfaction as day 1. I highly recommend this gun for professional and DIY work, take care of it and it should last a long time."

"Ever since I purchased this Craftsman Professional 1/2 impact wrench about a year ago or so, it is still going strong. I've been using it to remove tires, 3-4 times a week in a body shop that specializes in restoring vehicles. With a little over 700 pounds of torque, and at 4.25 lbs, this impact wrench removes lug nuts from diesel trucks easily with a 60 gallon air compressor."

"This air wrench exceeded my expectations... it is extremely powerful. I am using it with a 33 gallon compressor and a 50 foot 1/2 inch hose. I have a car that's brake caliper and bridge bolts were thread locked... even a breaker bar and a sledge hammer wouldn't break them loose... this air wrench did the job! Just be careful when using it, not to over do it, as it is capable of doing damage. It has 725 pounds max torque and it feels like 1000."

"I work on school buses. My co-worker had one of these guns and let me use it because I didn't like using the 3/4 in. gun because it has a tendency of being too heavy. I use this gun to take the lugs off the wheels and I have no problem at all. I couldn't believe this lightweight gun could be so powerful!!! I was so impressed that I went out and purchased it. I have no regrets. This gun will more than hold its own with guns costing twice the price!!!!"

It is made in Taiwan. One reviewer said they think it is from the same OEM as Matco's impacts.

Figures I just blew my points last night and it’s in stock for pickup. I already have two others but the composite would be lighter.

Even though it's a "hot buy," still shows free shipping for me.

I posted about that just this morning, a couple posts up. :) Good point I overlooked about the shipping though, I'd forgotten that most of the blowout items have the automatic-free-shipping-at-$35-OOP turned off.

I know, that's the only reason I posted the free shipping! Your post was too long to quote the whole thing! Thanks, as always Hexen, for all you do here!

Thanks. :) No problem, but for future reference, anything already inside 'quote' tags (as I put around that long review highlights part) disappears automatically when that post is quoted in a reply. (Some other sites don't behave this way, it's an option for how the forum software is configured... garagejournal's is set up to only have quotes 1 level deep.)

Oh man. Haven't been here in a while, and haven't bought from Sears in a while.

Love that Impact for $69, and my account has $5 of free cash, and free shipping. Bringing it down to $65 pre-tax and free shipping.

I browsed the blowout deals and had some weird availability issues. One item showed unavailable for store pickup, but when I increased the quantity it became available for ship to store. I tried this on some other items and couldn't repeat this. There were a few items unavailable for shipping but available at stores not convenient to me. I added them to my cart with store pickup selected, and once in my cart changed it to shipping. It allowed me to check out and showed me that the items were being shipped on the confirmation page.

Worth a try if there are items you want!

I got that set a couple years ago (at full price at the time, $35). The bits are nice, but the case is not nearly as nice as it used to be (the photo on the product page is the old style). At least there IS still a case, unlike some other Sears products that have dropped it entirely in the last few years. Still worthwhile, especially at this price, just a heads-up on what to expect if you haven't seen it in-person before buying.

It is made in Taiwan. One reviewer said they think it is from the same OEM as Matco's impacts.

Someone on SD figured out the manufacturer of the Craftsman ProSeries 1/2" Composite Impact Wrench...

" The OEM for this Craftsman branded tool is Universal Tools, a division of Florida Pneumatic. The OEM is Universal Tools Model Number: UT8160R-1
Here is the link for the Universal Tool version. Same tool, but they slap a "Craftsman Professional" sticker on the side instead of a "UT" sticker on the side.
https://universaltoolusa.com/1-2-pistol-impact-wrench-990 "

Sells for several hundred under the OEM branding.

I went to 4-5 sears stores this weekend to see what I could burn points on.

I can’t overstate how empty these stores are at this point, even the flagship I visited with new remodeled restrooms and center atrium. None are on the closing list. There is just not that much left to buy at all period. If this is isn’t the death of these stores I don’t know what is. People were walking out when the basic items they wanted the store had none of. I only had $65 in points total to spend over all the stores and it was a struggle to find anything to use it on.

Anyhow almost none of the stores bothered to take down the blowout tags on the items so if the price went up all is not lost. Most of the stores matched the posted prices gracefully, only had to get a manager involved at one citing CA state law about false advertising and it was quickly handled. So if you missed out on the good sale price earlier or if the price has crept up a few bucks you might still be in luck if you are willing to argue a bit.

Good tip, thanks. Unfortunately most stores also didn't bother to put up some of the tags in the first place, but depending on what you want, you may get lucky. ;)

For items that are sold at both Kmart and Sears, it seems like Kmart did not raise their Blowout prices. Though, I don't have a local Kmart, so I don't really remember much of the prices from the Kmart Blowout Event.

Kmart Craftsman 3/8" 6 Amp Drill $18.94 (Regular price $44.99)
Sears Craftsman 3/8" 6 Amp Drill $22.94 (Regular price $39.99)

Kmart Craftsman 130 pc. Mechanics' Tool Set & 16" Metal Toolbox $44.94 (Regular price $119.99)
Sears Craftsman 130 pc. Mechanics' Tool Set & 16" Metal Toolbox $48.94 (Regular price $169.99)

BTW, Sears stores used to sell a Skil version, so I'm assuming it's the same thing.

Good find, that does look suspiciously similar. :)

Regarding the all-weather bag, I do not have it myself, but there are a couple of pertinent reviews:

"Pro: It's big, weatherproof, many pockets, collapsible. Con: Smells like plastics, weak cardboard bottom, and doesn't stand on its own - hence collapsible."

(The fabric has a plasticky coating to keep water out, but if any does manage to seep in, it's bad news for the cardboard. They probably should've used something like ABS plastic instead of cardboard.)

"Overall a decent bag with alot of room and protection from elements but the zipper is junk. If you are a tradesman like me and use the bag a lot the zipper will separate and then you will have a convertible with no protection from the weather or prying eyes."

(Nobody else complained about the zipper, but if it does fail on yours, you can definitely forget about keeping rain out.)

I'm pretty sure that is the one I bought last year for my travel tool bag. I haven't exposed it to heavy rain but it has sat in the snow/ice for a few hours and been ok. Maybe a little damp but my tools haven't rusted and it has held up. I didn't come at it with high expectations.

4 piece SAE jumbo gearwrench $37.94

I found the SAE locally. Only picked up to hopefully sell and covert to cash. Otherwise picked up two more versatrak/gladiator hooks for $3.94. Received a $5 off $15 for tomorrow.

The sales guy commented on how he hadn't see me as much. Well, you do have as much, and what you do, I have for the most part. He said, well we are "getting tons in becasue the bankruptcy check cleared." Oh I noticed, the Worx drill. lol

Yeah, mostly just finally restocking some of the same things you already own.

Friday's $10-back-on-$10 categories are jewelry for Sears, and board games for Kmart. Looks like they are going in the order in which they are listed in the fine print Doohickey posted:

Kmart = (10th) footwear, (11th) board games, (12th) stationary, (13th) licensed apparel ["team gear"], (14th) candy, (15th?) underwear, (16th?) Jaclyn Smith apparel, (17th?) snacks, (17th?) beverages, (18th?) household supplies, and (19th) health & beauty.

Sears = (10th) work boots, (11th) fine & boxed jewelry, (12th) athletic footwear & apparel, (12th?) fitness, (13th) licensed apparel ["team gear"], (14th) camping, (14th?) Outdoor Life men’s apparel, (15th?) pajamas, (15th?) intimates, (16th?) Jaclyn Smith apparel, (17th?) denim, (18th?) tools, (19th?) dishes, and (19th) cooking.

Too bad they won't be getting around to tools until after the blowout sale ends, unless it gets extended another week. (Update: It did - for a whole other month!)

Thank you. I have a variety of Craftsman tool bags, but avoided this one because it usually remained at a much higher price.

Considering that it's the only Craftsman tool bag claiming to be "All-Weather", I was surprised that none of the reviewers tested it by splashing a bit of water on the bag.

People on SD say this compressor is a good deal, as it went on sale for $310 at Home Depot a few days ago.

Agree that the bits are pretty nice and the case is... junk. I bought this a while back, so not sure how much I paid for them, but definitely worth the current sale price.

I went to the local hometown store today to pick up a screwdriver that I ordered a while back. Sadly, there is a banner for store closing. Last day is supposedly in November. Currently 40% on tools and that store is almost empty. I looked around a bit, and everything is full price. One can buy most if not all of these cheaper online.

What a bummer! Now the closest Sears (hometown) is 40 minutes away in another town so it is not feasible to do a pick-up. I may buy a few things online in the near future, but I think the end is near for me to do any ordering from Sears.

$239.94 blowout sale price (currently scheduled to end today 10/13/19), $479.99 regularly

Available for free ship-to-store pickup; home shipping costs money unless you convince a rep to waive it.

Air Consumption at 40 PSI (SCFM): 8.39
Air Consumption at 90 PSI (SCFM): 5.77
125 MAX PSI
Weight: 103.8 lbs.

Oh, and to sweeten the deal, looks like this bonus cashback offer just started this morning 10/13 (but is currently misconfigured to only last until 11:59pm tonight 10/13):

"Members get $50 CASHBACK in points total in 2 installments when you spend $100+ at Sears. 1st set issued next day, then [2nd installment] 15 days after. Pts valid for 14 days. Max 1 per day. Offer valid 10/13-11/16."

I have one and would not hesitate to buy at that price! It is very quiet for a home compressor but the biggest sell for me was the CFM in a 20 gallon "quiet" compressor.

Last chance to grab a Craftsman 90T ratchet? Sears has 70% off the tool sets.

Been waiting for them to show up as open stock, but the Ultimate Collection seems dead in the water after the lawsuit from SBD.

Caution: Some sets have 12-point and/or universal sockets.

1/2" drive:
Craftsman 23 pc. Metric Socket Wrench Set $49.99
Craftsman 23 pc. Inch Socket Wrench Set $49.99

3/8" drive:
Craftsman 36 pc. Metric Mechanic's Starter Set $49.99
Craftsman 34 pc. Inch Mechanic's Starter Set $49.99

Craftsman 74 pc. Metric Mechanic's Service Set $69.99
Craftsman 82 pc. Inch Mechanic's Service Set 79.99

1/4" and 3/8" drive:
Craftsman 104 pc. Mechanic's Service Set $99.99

The Ultimate Collection has joined the Blowout Event (on supposedly the last day ).

The prices are similar to the sale back in July, but now end in the number "94".

Uh oh, some more USA pry bars leaving Sears. Though, the 3-pc set is not at a Blowout price.

Craftsman 12 IN. PRY BAR WITH STRIKE CAP $5.94

Craftsman 17 IN. PRY BAR WITH STRIKE CAP $5.94

Craftsman 25 IN. PRY BAR WITH STRIKE CAP $7.94

Craftsman 31 IN. PRY BAR WITH STRIKE CAP $8.94

The latest USA ones don’t seem as good for some reason, either that or the Canadian made Roberts ones I picked up at Ollie’s were just better. Still can’t really complain if you need an individual size but the 3 pack has been $19.99 before.

Not as good in what way? :headscrat Other than an unfortunate tendency for rust (which isn't new), I don't think I've seen any complaints about the USA strike-cap prybars.

People on SD say this compressor is a good deal, as it went on sale for $310 at Home Depot a few days ago.

You guys are killing me with this thread! At least when they find my body, I'll have a smile on my face. :)

A helpful tip from SD for anyone considering buying the Craftsman 8 pc. Reversible Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set (#42404 for SAE, #42405 for metric - $30.94 sale, $109.99 regularly)... unlike many Sears products that go total overkill on the packaging, this one's package is a little too easy to open, causing many of the in-store sets to be missing one or more pieces. So if you can't buy in-person, or get one freshly shipped to the store for pickup, there's a pretty good likelihood of having to try to get a replacement.

" The plastic tray that displays the tools is not secure and tools may be missing. The demonstration ratchet is held on by a split plastic cylinder and the slightest twist pops it free. The rest of the tools are held in by sliding plastic strips that are barely clipped in place. Sliding them down releases the largest tools first.
When I was there a week ago, all three available sets were missing the rotating tool. Yesterday the single remaining set was also missing the large wrench at the top.
If I were driving a long way, I would try to call first (not that the store ever answers the phone). "

I'm seeing new items for the Blowout Event in a variety of tool categories.

Craftsman PUSH PIN PLIERS $4.94
...

And another newly-on-sale item, the 3pc set which those push pin pliers are part of:

Craftsman 3PC BODY CLIP REMOVAL SET
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-3pc-body-clip-removal-set/p-00949277000P
$15.94 blowout sale, $39.99 regularly

The "Panel Clip Pliers" in that set are not sold separately, so I recommend the full set if you can still find it. (OOS for shipping, and OOS for pickup in my area, but some stores should still have it somewhere in the country.)

I got the set for $19.85 about a year ago, and price-adjusted to $14.36 when the pre-Thanksgiving blowout-esque sale happened. Other than those few days, this is the lowest it's been.

The panel clip pliers were just what I needed for popping out some trunk panel clips. Watch out, though, the clips will really go flying sometimes. As long as you can catch/find them, my clips came out undamaged and were reusable just fine.
