I've been lurking around here for a little while now and figured it was time to start posting.
In the next 6 weeks or so, I am going to finally break ground on my first garage build. Back up to last summer, and my wife and I purchased our first home. The plan at that time was to build a 20x28 garage but due to size constraints on our lot, I chose to go with a 16x24 instead. I had taken some extra cash from the bank when doing our mortgage to cover the costs. All was great until the day we moved in and plans changed. Long story short, I ended up spending the next 2 months completely renovating our upstairs including gutting our kitchen, bathroom, wall to wall flooring and much more. The garage went on the back burner.
Fast forward to now and the snow is starting to melt. We've penciled in doing our concrete slap in early April and I have a friend of mine who is a contractor that will do the framing for me and get it to lock up. I hope to have it to that point by mid May depending on weather.
Here are some photos of us getting ready for this point...
This is what the spot looked like when the realtor first listed the house.

When we took possession we cut down a ton of trees including some very large ones. The stumps have since been ground up too. The shed came down with some help from my beater "trips to the garbage dump" truck

Late summer I had all the supplies dropped off. Ended up piling it all up, tarping it and leaving it for the winter.
Ill update this thread as the snow melts and we get going on the build!
