Do you have a hose hookup to front to keep them clean or are you going to let them patina as time passes?

You have come a long way in a relatively short time. Now that this project is seemingly winding down what will you be doing with your high test energy? Build a hot rod? That should keep you hopping for a couple of months.

The pumps came out great and look perfect out front. Beautiful job restoring the pumps and the whole building for that matter. The front of the building really stands out and also brings back those memories of a time gone by.

I have an F100 that has been patiently waiting the last 10 months while work has been going on at the building

Fantastic. I hope the city appreciates all your hard work.
Is it time for a GJ road trip to get some burgers and 33 cent gas?

Thanks to all that have followed along during this journey. The amount of interest has far exceeded any expectation I ever had. The building will never truly be done and will continue to evolve as I find/acquire memorabilia. I'll update new additions from time to time, but other than a few loose ends that need buttoning up its time to get back to building some Hot Rods

Its been a while since I've mentioned it, but I do have a Facebook page setup for the station that I think will become more active since project is nearing completion. It can be found by searching Perry Sinclair Station.

Spent 5 hours round trip to pick up the display case today. I couldn't be happier with it. I started filling it up tonight. The station office will be constantly evolving and probably never will be truly done, but I think this is a good start.

I just found your Gas Station thread today, The detail you are doing is Awesome! I love the show case and the restroom keys hanging on the wall are great. My first job was at a Gulf Station back in the 70's and we had keys like that so they wouldn't walk off. I have read the first 8 pages on my lunch hour, looking forward to catch up on the rest tonight. I'm hooked!

What a great job on those pumps... I'm a Sinclair Man myself. Wondering what was your thoughts on not showing those 'Ad Glass' tops on the front of the pumps...I'm guessing those are on back. Looks great

It's in the works, I bought Sinclair HC ad glass that was suppose to fit. Unfortunately it doesn't so I had the local glass shop cut new glass panels using the original Phillips 66 ones as a pattern. I'm planning on having decal logos made one in HC and obviously the other in Power X. Once I get them made I'll flip the panels and put the blanks on the backs.

Now I understand... It'll be worth the aggravation. Do you have power out there to have light behind the glass? If not I wonder how cheaply could a guy have a solar cell run a light for a few hours?... I know ours out in the yard run longer than I'm awake (930pm asleep in the recliner) Oh well, I'm sure you got that covered. Super place you have there.

Just read thru 90% of this thread for the first time. You have done a great job. I would love to have a shop like that. Youre vision was right on. I hope the town has recognized you for the revitalization of that old, wore out building that you started with.

Wow, Joe. It took me a few days to read through this thread. I don't know how I missed it the first time. You've done outstanding work on bringing it back to life. I've always wanted a station, but just a small one, like many around where I grew up...one or two stalls. May have to take a ride someday to see it.

By the way, my Galaxie says she thinks she may have found her long lost big brother at your place. She says she may have to find a fitting gift to send to him.

I just finished your thread, your resurrection was Superbly done! :rocker: This is the first thread I have read all the way through. I usually cheat and only read the OP's post but this time I enjoyed reading all the comments and feed back. Your before and after pictures side by side were great. Can't wait to see what you end up with on our outside wall.

I have been to Des Moines, IA two or three times, I ran a car in the Downtown Grand Prix in the early 90's, in 93 when I was there they cancel part of the races because of the flooding, anyways beautiful farm country.

I have a new screen save to motivate me, I just look at it and think, Joe has a full time job and does all this too! Get to work Hartman! :lol_hitti. I have been working by myself for 35 yrs and need motivation sometimes. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your build, I enjoyed.

Best Regards, Randy

What a beautiful job and I love all the old fords. Im a ford guy my self. And I know your feeling about being in a old shop when your dad was working in the ford dealer I felt the same way and had a blast as a kid when my dad worked at Total Performance for John Vermeersch in Clinton TWP, MI. Keep up the great work.
