2 post lift in 24x30

Does any one have a 2 post lift in a 24 foot wide garage?
Im curious about the space.
Im looking at 2 single doors. Not sure exact size yet.
I know i need 2 foot from wall plus the required 11 to 12 feet for lift. Im not sure what brand lift yet either.
Will having a lift in one bay allow me enough room for another car in other bay.
I know depend on the size car as well.
Im sorry vague question.
Just trying to plan for future.
24 foot wide is as wide as i can go with easement.

I think you will be very very tight with a lift.

Don't have what you have but was a mechanic for many years. 2 ft on side will not leave you any room for tool boxes or other stuff there. Doing the math 24ft -1 foot for walls -14 foot needed for lift leaves you 9 feet for other car. If not working on car on lift and you park close still leaves you only 112 feet for car. Plenty of room but will have to watch out you don't dent doors when opening them.

My garage addition (built 5 years ago) is 28' wide. I had to get easement and would have gone wider if I could.

However, I've got 18" deep shelving units lining both sides of garage, and I also have 4-post lift. I have 3+ feet of workspace on each side of vehicle on lift, and I easily park a car on other side.

In your situation, if you have nothing along the sides, you should be OK. Tight, but OK. I would REALLY try to get a few more feet from the easement.

I'm telling you with 100% certainty...... every single guy that has gone through this (build garage and install a lift) wishes it was bigger, LOL. Good luck!

When I was planning my last 24x30 that never got built, I was planning like you with lift on 1 side and boat on the other... while doable its plenty tight. 24x30 really just makes a awesome single car shop when your talking a lift. On my current 24x30 I did a flush scossor lift right in the middle. Still didn't want the big posts to be in my way

I'm working with a tighter 20x30 and am considering an in-floor scissor lift as well. Any photos of your arrangement?

I would go tighter to the wall. Unless you're too big to fit thru that space.
I'm planning on going 18" based on a shop I'm familiar with that has one at 16".
I asked the mechanic that works that bay, & he said it was not an issue at all. I've seen lifts so close that you can only fit your arm thru, but that's not practical to have to walk all the way around the car to set the lift arms.

Sure, you won't be able to store anything along that wall, but it's all about comprise. With 30' depth , you can use that space.

My garage is 24w x 31d with two single doors.
I have both a two post(Maxjax M6) and four post lift.
The two post is close to the wall but I can still get past.
I have three cars in the garage one on the four post, one underneath and one between the post.

When your lift was in your 14 foot bay. How much clerance did you have on each side. Looks like 2 foot or less.
Wall cabinets right side 1'depth?

Thats funny about the dually or bug. Very true.
My first project id like to be able to have s10 in one bay and 3100 truck on the other.
Later in life when kids are older and wife goes back to work. 72 chevelle and 47 3100 truck.

Definitely don't have to have 2' from the wall. It's preferred but that is just to provide ample working space but it's not necessary. I have a lift in a 16x26 only a little over a foot from lift plate to the block. It's a working bay and the clearance in the side has never hindered a job vehicles are less than 8' wide so while the post is close their is plenty of room between the wall and the car/ truck

I have a 23X30, with two 8X9' doors, and it works great for passenger cars and my jeep. Putting an extra cab dully in there would be tight though. I put in side mounted screw garage door openers so the ceiling was clear. Highly recommend.

I have a MaxJax in my 24x32 and it works perfectly. When not in use it's broken down and out of the way.Had a used big 9K Nussbaum lift all installed and ready to go, but it ruined the garage for 2 vehicles. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=240820&highlight=nussbaum Took it out and sold it after 2 weeks.

Tight.

Shop around for a narrower lift with lower capacity. Perhaps the posts will be a little slimmer on a 6-8 k lift than those on a 10k Lift, and you have relatively light vehicles in your plan.

A symmetric Lift will have a smaller footprint than an asymmetric lift will.

Its still in progess. Poured the lift pits off the atlas flush mount plans.
Got a long way to go but its dried in now. But I like the fact that the lift will completely dissappear. I dont only do auto work so having a 2 post always in the way just wasn't going to work for how I use the garage.

So I built a 24W 32 Deep 10'Wall pole barn 3 years ago and put a lift in this past december. It's awesome! I went with a split 12' sliding door and lift centered on the 24 gable end. I've got a kubota tractor that I can park between the posts and wall no problem....its about 5 feet wide.

I have a 2-post lift in a ~19' X 29' (interior dimension) garage. I routinely have one car on the lift and another car on the floor... but admittedly I don't have large cars... the largest on the lift is a Jeep Grand Cherokee while a Porsche is on the floor.
It's a bit odd, but I canted the lift by 5 degrees to enable me to not have to move the floor car while I load another car on the lift, as long as I park the floor car at an angle. My goal was to not have to move the floor car to put a car on the lift. This works out great for my situation. (People ask if I know that my lift is not 'straight'.)
You'll also notice that I have the lift forward of the floor car, which makes this all work out. You may want to consider at least pushing the lift forward of the 'floor car'. I chose to go with a symmetric lift, but an asymmetric set-up would work even better allowing the lift to be moved even closer to the rear wall.

Damn, I like your idea here but don't think I can pull that off ... My garage is 15' x 28' .... Plan is to erect the lift in the center (leaves roughly 24" on each side if the post) then park another under half of the raised car

I have a MaxJax 2-post in a 24x32' shop, with sloped 13-10' ceilings. I have plenty of room on either side, but it does get small when you pull in a full sized vehicle. The Jeeps, my car, and Mazda B2600i leave plenty of room....but the Ford Expedition fills it up.

Honestly, though, the building size isn't as much issue as the narrow column spacing on MaxJax. My next lift will be wider...

40', the area where the cars sit is 28' wide. Left post is 25" off the wall (back of post to wall). Door is 16x7.

My detached garage is 24x24 and it is tight with two cars in it without a lift. I simply cant imagine having a lift and trying to keep two cars in it. Thats my opinion, obviously some guys are doing it.

I have a 2 post Forward lift in my 24w x 36d shop. Shop has a 16' wide door centered on one 24' wall and a 10' door on the back 24' wall. Lift is centered in the back of the shop in front of the 10' door, and I can pull 2 more cars in in front of the vehicle on the lift. the 30' vs 36' will preclude that option though for you it sounds like.
