Went by the feamarket/antique mall today while out and about.

Found a combination square. Made by Mohawk Shelburne???

Also found a fulton army flashlight with red blue and clear filters and extra bulb

The last thing is not from a sale but grandpas garage. I mentioned my saw quit working and was going to get a new one. He said to take his extra, haven't used it since got my new Milwaukee. Lot nicer than what I had and has a new blade in bottom of the case.

Nice boxes guys. That roll cart was a steal LOTW.

I think I made out like a bandit today at an estate sale. Mega haul of vintage Snap On/Williams/Vulcan for just over 2 bills.

Dang, I don't remember the last time I saw an actual news paper in person. What does the random SO badge go to? Did they have a box or something? Looks like some nice stuff.

Stopped in a flea market today after work and picked up these sockets. 2 of the deep impacts are Sunnen, several of the other sockets are craftsman and Williams. Got the whole box for 5 bucks.

Second one in the door this morning at an estate sale. Really nice set of Knipex adjustable pliers, SK bent handle flex head 3/8dr ratchet and a set of metric 3/8dr SK sockets. A short SK 1/2dr extension and a pair of Vise Grips with flat metal jaws and a pair of magnetic soft-faced vise jaw inserts.

Just got back from an evening estate sale. I was #11 in a very long line and it pays to strike up a conversation with the people around you! They announced they were going to let in the first 10 people and I asked the gal in front of me, who I had been talking with, to tell the guy I was her husband. It worked and he let me in the first group.

Got some new old Craftsman, Tap & Die Set, a 1/2dr & 1/4dr metric -V- socket sets in their original boxes. A 1/4dr Craftsman pear-head, a 1/2dr Craftsman RHFT and a Craftsman 1/4dr SAE set with a RHFT ratchet. I picked up that chrome rack to cut down and use as a wrench rack.

I don't know if i've even posted on this thread for the year but here is my first contribution for the new year.

I got up early and stood in the cold for what looked like a promising sale. It was a new company, or at least to me, and was let inside at 9 on the dot.

Their ad was a bit misleading about the tools but i made a few passes and was able to dig out all of these gems. It was like an easter egg hunt for these things.:eyecrazy: The Plomb speeder was in a cabinet full of paint cans with only the ⅜" male end poking out between the cans.

I found 2 coffee cans, filled to the brim with water. Once they were tipped over, i found they contained lots of Plomb sockets and both ¼" drive ratchets, 1 Craftsman and 1 Snap on Midget.

All of the Plomb tools are the same date code or War Finish marked so i'm guessing it was a set.

The list:

Plomb ⅜" speeder, War finish breaker bar, 3 combo wrenches, 1 DOE, ¼" plastic handled driver, 2 ¼" sockets, 1 ⅜" socket and 1 ¼" drive slotted screwdriver bit. Thats a new one for me and quite heavy duty to be used with a ¼" driver.

Craftsman ¼" socket V code ratchet/ stubby DBE wrench

Snap on ¼" Midget ratchet, G date code for 1939, ¼" socket and 1 DBE offset wrench, I mark for 1961

Channellock whale tooth slip joint pliers

Mini anvil marked JSB. It will be a gift for my dad to put in his anvil collection

Vermont American ⅛" NPT tap

Proto ¼" drive deep socket, DOE offset ignition wrench and ¼" uni joint ext.

P & C DOE wrench

10" Ridgid pipe wrench

Blackhawk T handle wrench. Somebody used a pipe wrench on it so the name is marred but still somewhat legible. If anybody is interested, i don't collect Blackhawk and it needs a new home.

SK ¼" drive set that looks pretty old. The extensions and breaker bar are not marked but matched up to other SK, are identical in every dimension and construction.

Got these at a flea market for $1. Welding fillet gages made by General Electric. 1/4 - 1". 6 pcs, lettered A-F.

Case has strange cartoon face on the reverse? They just seemed weird so I got 'em. I think they are stainless steel too, there is no rust on them at all. Anyone know anything about these?

You'll use those pliers! They grip nearly like a pipe wrench. I never heard them called whale tooth though, I always call them nutbusters.

My take for the morning.

I sold one of my tools and was going out to deliver when I came across this yard sale . One of the ones where it doesn't look like much.
Snap On ratchet screwdriver, Dale Earhart signature series, couple so screwdrivers and pliers, Fluke heat gun, Greenlee amp meter and a nice assortment of stuff.
Can't even make it home with the sold money!

One estate sale today. Big old house with vintage red **** carpet. As I walked up long driveway there were two people leaving empty handed - not usually a good sign.

The owner was into armature radio and I picked up some radio accessories. Not much in basement except a drill dr. Not sure why no one grabbed it yesterday.

I stumbled across an actual genuine UK garage sale! :rocker:
It was an old fella selling bits and bobs, mostly supermarket brand tools but rooted around the garage and came up with following.

View media item 36829
Pipe-cutter
Full metal adjustable spirit level
Small double blade penknife
6 stubby US PRO-TOOLS spanners (metric)

Question: How US and PRO are US. PRO-TOOLS?
I have not heard of them, but they are pretty well formed/plated.

not very US or Pro, but they will do the job, some are better than others. I have a few of theier larger spanners, they fit well and are comfy to use, no problems so far, the box ends are a bit thicker than some of the pricier makes, but I haven't found it to be an issue. They rae common at auto jumbles and such.

I scored a 30" x 30" cast teel T slotted table from a guy shutting down a small machine shop yesterday, bumped into him at the scrapyard where I was planning to buy scrap steel to build a fab table, ended up getting the slotted table for £50 (~$75), the thing must wiegh close on 500lbs, its got 7/8" T slots. Pic when I find some batteries for the camera.

The bottom right is a ratchet cable shear.
Open the jaws around the cable, then squeeze and release to ratchet the jaws closed until cable is cut

Picked up these bench vises today, got them both for $30.
The rock island is missing the pipe jaws but its really in very good shape I like that it still has the name plate on it. The columbian is in very nice condition also.

OK yesterday was the big day, today's finds were OK but nothing big:

Yesterday off CL:

A Candy-Otto/Cincinatti Lathe and Tool Co. 18" "Royal" Drill press!

406 lbs with (factory) motor, the 1" thick table plate was another 50...

:3gears:Drove 2 hr's round trip, including the buy process, and paid $125 :rocker:
(I sold my old Taiwan DP a year ago for about that...)

The table top is pristine other than the usual rust, no biggie there:

attachment.php

The 1" thick Top some bright boy added was clearly sacrificial:

attachment.php

The Table lifter, I need to mess with the bottom of the gear rack a bit. and I want to find another gear rack and control gears, and the head can also be cranked down, then up...

attachment.php

The junker (for this DP) motor, 1/3 HP and it is missing the 8 sheave pulley. Plan is to move the Treadmill motor from my Rockwell to this one and be done.

attachment.php

The chuck may not be salvageable, the spindle taper is big, probably MT3, but I need to verify.

attachment.php

The lump towards the back is the housing for the head crank assembly/gears and rack.

Today's finds:

Klein water pump plires from the flea market, and from an estate sale, glass carpet provetors and an old display lamp. I may use that on a tool somewhere, not sure:

attachment.php

10 lbs sheet lead and 5 lb spool of acid core solder, still from the estate Sale, and $2 for this and the above.:

attachment.php

A 1/3 HP GE motor, with a timer from a washing machine. I'll guess the motor was from the same source. for a buck I wasn't leaving it behind.

attachment.php

The timer:
