Man, all sorts of deals today. Good job mattblast, Nine4GMC, and since we're posting cars today, rmalkow2 I have show you this sweet freebie hot-wheel I got...

I probably have about a dozen of these sitting in the garage. I love the dual action Crash - dent/repaired feature

I have to thank Zkling, bluebomber and Rielysan from deterring me from buying a table saw earlier this week. I am not quite ready to shell out a bunch of money for a Cabinet saw just yet as Zkling suggested, but this is definitely a better table saw than the previous one I considered. And I'm happy with the out the door load it on my truck price of $70. Not quite 3HP, but I'm good with 2.7 for my needs....

Picked up this remote control car, and extra parts for $10!

I knew some of these remote control cars could get pretty expensive, but I didn't think much of it until I found this receipt in one of the bags.....

That Craftsman contoured handle screwdriver is from the early-mid 80's and kinda rare

Slim pickins at the flea market today. Plus the missus pretty much emptied my wallet on the way to the mall this morning so not much in the way of saves. But here goes:

Pic 1:
- full can of Kendall motor oil, circa 1980 or so, $4
- Bonney 1/2-drive breaker bar and long extension, $2

Pic 2: all for $7.50
- 8 lb. sledgehammer head, exc. condition, no makers mark but USA
- bucking wedge, missing its mate
- late 40s Craftsman razor knife

Pic 3: $15
1940s military-looking single drawer file cabinet, meant to stack one on top of another and be quickly portable

sha, I see those from time to time, and I've been leaving some behind. I better go back through my honeyholes and see if there are any more. You're talking about this one, right?

Well I didn't get to go to any sales today. And probably won't for some time. But we did close on a piece of property , 2.6 acres 2 out buildings, 1700 sq ft. house and all content! It was like buying an entire estate sale! Way too much to list... It has been vacant for 14 years . Every thing... I mean every thing is old in this place . The frickin best part... $14833 was the price tag! The house is a total gut job but I should make at least half or more back on content .

Looking good there guys!

Some flea market and estate sale finds.Aside from the usual stuff, got some brace bits, small brass hammer and Ridgid wrench, hole punches, Cal Van window wedge. Surprised to find a few John Deere sockets too. Kinda going crazy with the 1/4" socket drivers lately.

^^^You're right. I found the owners manual in a slot under the seat and it's a 2001. Thanks for the service manual link. I'm sure it's 99% relevant. Now the fun begins. I want to clean it up and then go thru it with a fine tooth comb.

For an ATV is this considered high, low or average mileage? I'm just trying to get a feel.

P1050991.JPG

Wow.

Not going to lie. Early AC 4-wheelers, up until around 2005 or so were pretty crappy and were known to have a lot of problems. But for 200$ that's a mighty sucky deal.

Buddy of mine had an early AC 500 and had all sorts of problems with it, and I had a 2003 400 and same thing, motor problems and also more electrical gremlins than I want to remember. Newer ones are a lot better, but again for 200$ for a complete and just about new (my 04 had 8000mi on it when the odometer quit) 4 wheeler is crazy. That 500 would be at the very least a grand around here.

Have you had a chance to work on it yet?

I only bought a 10ft Lufkin tape measure today, visited a large indoor flea market at our local arena. Lots of cool non-tool stuff I passed on and a few decent tools I passed on, but nothing that was a screaming deal. Gave the guy some loose change for the tape, he had it in the typical 10$ for the whole crappy box of tools.

This dealer didn't let me down either. He said last time he had the rest of the Williams parts to go with those I already bought. He showed up today with these Williams snap together ratchets and boy was I overjoyed.

Picked up a T-50 and ST-50 ratchet with breaker bar heads.

Also some vintage Williams sockets from another guy.

Ditto On that Willams Set, very nice! A similar set with original box recently sold on ebay for like $350!

There were some good sales a few towns over today, but I had to stay local. Here's what I got for $6.50:
Channelock 4 inch pliers, Williams 4in. Adjustable, 3 Stanley 1016 screwdrivers, SK, Williams Surperwrench, Craftsman Spring-loaded center punch, 3 Bridgeport wrenches(the DBE I already had) two rubber mallets, one USA, one China(The US is still rubbery, the chinese one not so much) Plumb extension, and a Thorsen 3/8 socket set-Ratchet needs a rebuild kit.

Not shown, and the best scores from today: a NIB Lego set for $10 for my son(retail $130) and a slightly used Mountain Bike for my wife for $10. I'm not complaining!

lol.... aerial view.... section 2 ! More later

We'll consider that a teaser. Depending on where you are and the condition of the property, that there could be a mega-****-worthy purchase!

Regardless, good luck with the reno, and us GJers will expect updates/salivate over any work on the garage/outbuildings. Heck, just say you're putting a workbench in the basement of the house, and we'll likely eat popcorn watching you redo the whole house!

Cheers!:beer::beer:

Once again, I spent more on gas than I did on tools. After a few stops and a flea market, all I came up with were 3 pieces that I spent a total of $3 on.

Hazet V-10 black oxide 8mm/13mm (odd pairing) DOE wrench (50¢) (my first Hazet)
Channellock #426 pliers (posi-lock) ($2)
Handi-Mike (USA) cast metal micrometer (50¢) (too cute to leave behind)

I need more 1/2 ratchets like I need more holes in my head but I got a good deal on these off cl. Left to right Cornwell SR-50, Indestro Super 3277, and Williams S-52 Superratchet.

I've heard good things about the Cornwell and Williams, from what I can tell both very nice rats. Cornwell is going in travel kit, Williams is a backup/spare and the Indestro is a "collector." It has patent 2686582 on the drive. Edit: also I now know where SK found the design of the selector on their Tuff1 ratchets.

only 1 quick stop for me, all for $10: NAPA stool, and some rusty tools (forgot to take before picture). I soaked for 2 days, then cleaned off a bit with steel wool.

Kraeuter diagonal cutters
Sargent nail puller
small nail puller, with an anchor?? symbol

I will clean up the tools some more, sharpen, and use.

Picked this up yesterday for $5 - pretty cool. Tool case that honestly looks like it would fit a sewing machine. The two sides fold open, empty inside. Anyone know anything about it?

For whatever reason the first few weeks of October seems to be pretty good estate/garage saling weekends around these parts. Probably fitting them in before the weather really turns.

SK and Snap-On drivers. $2.50. The ratcheting one is missing the end cap and bits. I see new end caps are available but for a price.

Fairmount spoon, Wizard extension, Proto distributor wrench, another freaking S-52 ratchet, I guess a Hazet/Mercedes spark plug wrench, Lufkin catalog $7

Small parts cabinet and empty Williams box.

Hilti Hammer drill. Not a need but my own is on long term loan and the price was right $15.

Those are some nice grabs. I didn't realize that western NY was a month ahead of the rest of the country. :headscrat
It's still October in Ohio

Whoops  Yeah we are so with it in WNY that we get everything first ! - not. Don't need time moving faster than it already is at my age.
