Ok first shot at this...hang on folks. Found this for 100.00 on CL last weekend and was told it come from a machine shop which might explain as to why I'm having a hard time finding out the details on it. Either this or that just doesn't line up. Starting to think it's a Frankenstien from the mid 40's to mid 50's with some machine shop lovin. I'll (hopefully) post pics.
Besides the pole, it don't look to bad. I do wonder how they got holes all over the table instead of the normal arc of shame though![]()

The pole is the only part that doesn't look stock. If you were indicating the third pulley set, those were available as an option, and are highly sought after...
Nice find!![]()
I likely will flip it. PM me if you want more info/pics or to make an offer.if you decide to part with this let me know

Aggravating morning.
Couldn't get out of the house early and got stuck in part of a 13mi traffic jam. When I finally got to the yard sale that advertised tools - It was a 10' table full of unopened HF ****.
So I went next door to a neighbor's table and picked up a pair of lifting straps for $8 just so I didn't walk away empty handed.
Not much hope for any more good sales this weekend.![]()
nothing to see here....move along

The B.S. could be Browne and Sharpe but who was D? Patent date of 1872.
Dave, D.B.&S stands for Darling, Brown & Sharpe. They were an early precursor to B&S
but for a quarter I wasn't leaving it. Also got a fine sharping stone and an all aluminum Stanley Torpedo level for .50 each. My big money was spent on an old screw jack, 3.00. Incredibly it goes from 11" to 19" and 28" . It has 1910 stamped on it on both sides and the number 4 on it by the crank. I have similar jacks to this that came off of model T's or A's but none that goes this tall. I wonder if it was a tractor jack of some sort or maybe not used on a vehicle at all. Maybe just some manufacturing use.
Any help???
I stopped by an estate sale this morning. Not the infamous kind people talk about run by a company with insane prices, just a small house with a homemade "estate sale" sign out front and a nice guy inside trying to get rid of everything in the house. That's my kind of sale.
Anyway, there wasn't much of interest upstairs, but I ventured into a dark, dirty basement that looked like nobody had dared enter since a couple decades ago and found a small 4" Wilton vise bolted to a workbench. Unfortunately, there were no other tools to be found. I asked the gentlemen about the vise and he said someone wanted to buy it earlier but nobody had anything to unbolt it from the bench, and I could have it for $5 if I could get it off.
Like the newbie I am, I don't carry much in the way of tools in my car, but my car happens to be an old BMW which happens to have a 13mm wrench in the factory trunk toolkit which happened to fit the bolts (probably 1/2") on the vise nice and snug. Got it off of there in a few minutes and handed the gentleman a $5 bill.
I know it's a small (4" jaws, 3-3/4" opening), relatively low end vise, but it's my first vise and should at least be able to help out with some tasks until I come across something bigger. This one doesn't have replaceable jaws, but the jaws seem to be in good shape other than a small nick in each which line up to the same spot. Needs to have the swivel base un-seized and a good cleaning to start with.
I'm guessing this is from the 1980s-1990s but i couldn't really find much info on it. It has a number 121089 in the casting.

The family spent a day at my wife's office framing in, sheetrocking, and mudding a new records room and office for her records admin. Her commercial location fronts a neighborhood whose residents are always putting their trash into or next to the dumpster. Some days I found some goodies and today was one.

Troybuilt self propelled lawn mower with Briggs & Stratton still in good over all condition. Some gas in the tank, but would not start. Cover and air filter were off, so I'm guessing someone was troubleshooting the carb. I sprayed a shot of starter fluid in the intake and the mower sputtered and ran briefly. It's got ignition and compression, so fuel delivery can't be far.
Gotta love free![emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4]
Thanks, Yeti! I'll give that a shot (pun intendedThere is a 1/2 bolt holding the bowl on the bottom of the carb. Pull that and with the straw on your carb cleaner... Spray that into the vertical hole till it shoots out on both sides. Should be good. Also make sure the stupid auto choke thingy is working.
So I told you all yesterday that I scored big so I spent today going through what I actually ended up with. When I arrived at the guy's house he had 2 sheds and a basement that he told me I could just go through. He gave me a few empty rubbermaid totes and told me I could fill them up with what I wanted.
I noticed a few big items off the bat and wanted to get an idea of what his pricing was going to be. I spotted the Coleman air kit with the ratchet and the 1/2" impact with accessories and didn't even ask what he wanted. The first thing I noticed was the bench grinder and he told me he was thinking $25 or $30. I thought it was okay but not stellar so I just kind of set it to the side.
I started to dig deeper through a few tool boxes and off the shelves. I started out being very particular about taking nothing that was Chinese. As I started to fill up the totes I realized I was better off just taking the whole sets of things.
I ended up filling my car as full as I could get it. You can see in the pictures what all I got but some of the stuff that really made my day was the 3/4" sockets and extension, the 2 vices, the bench grinders, the extension cords (full box), the belt sander, palm sander, and the Coleman air tool set. There was still more stuff that I might go back for but I was VERY happy with my haul.
There are a lot of sockets that are labeled Fleet and I don't know much about that company but they say USA on them.
There was some other random stuff that was USA made as well.
90% of the hand tools/wrenches/sockets are Craftsman USA stuff. The last picture is all the really good stuff I got. One big Proto socket, a few SK sockets, and the screwdriver and small ratchet and sockets are all SO. The pliers are Klein.
We got all done and I had loaded the car before even asking what the damage was. He asked me what I thought was fair and I said $250 thinking he would laugh at me but knowing I would pay a decent amount more. He said that seemed more than fair and told me $220 would work. I paid the man and drove away grinning ear to ear.
That's cool Mike, what size does it fit ?![]()

I paid the man and drove away grinning ear to ear.

ps: HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!
