Jeff: nice pick. i need to learn to stop at the Habitat store i drive by a few times a week because they do have some decent things now and then and it's a great cause.

Rick: are you like me and a few others that you just can't have enough of those butterfly clamps? nice work

Waggoneer: since you spent as much as most of us will spend in a year or two at sales i'm guessing we all wouldn't mind you taking up a few posts of 7 pictures each with some more details and close ups. sound ok guys can Wagoneer post up a few more pictures??

Of coarse he can!! Pics are what this thread is about! (that and talking about the finds, one way or another...)

Because:

:needpics:

sound better than ok.

has anyone else notice that the new batch of lowes kobalt boxes look like the equip? obviously not the same quality, but the drawer and recessed pull handles are very very similar.

You got it.

I think this side cabinet is pretty sweet

I researched a little on the forums on how to clean the handles on the pliers, and I decided to use Awesome degreaser from the dollar store. It worked AWESOME. Just a couple sprays on a paper towel and rubbed the grips and handles with it and it shined right up. I would highly recommend it. Thanks y'all for the interest.

This box is spotless. The previous owner took amazing care of it. It is practically new.

From this past week's sale

NOS Locking Pliers set with pouch, circle I stamping, new, and lightly used 1/2 deep G series sockets and Crown logo parts cabinet.

Westline by Indestro/Duro, missing a few sockets that I'll never find.

Proto SAE set and Rubbermaid Adjustable. I usually would skip the Rubbermaid, but it seems to be tight and surprisingly well made.

i cant say ill remember, but ill try and find some of those westline sockets when im out at the flea. i run across them every now and then. mostly indestro and wizard branded though. same sockets..but not matching name.

Just picked up a 10in craftsman miter saw for $5! Its in really good shape and will work great for my needs. I'm slowly building my wood working tool collection with bargains. I mainly work with engines and metal so It's not practical to me to spend a lot of money on wood tools but I still want good quality.

Scored a few hand tools at the Restore today. Found a nice Williams superrench double box end, a =CRAFTSMAN= 7/8" chisel, a Cornwell CW15 wrench, a Buck Brothers wood chisel and a Bruno 200B expansive bit hole cutter designed for a bit and brace. $2 to $5 each, not bad and a fun dig.

Just a bit more about the Bruno hole cutter, because I thought it was pretty unusual. After extensive (10 minutes!) research, I learned that this USA company was only around for a couple of years. It seems this hole cutter, plus a few variants, was their only product. If anyone knows more, do tell . . . It appears to be a high quality tool and it left me wondering why the short run for this company. This example also appears to be NOS with a complete set of cutters, the Allen type wrench and instructions. I didn't have to wonder very long when it was made because the manufacturer stamped Oct 1945.

My grandpa has one of those sitting downstairs in his workshop and the box has my great uncles name on the box and he was a master of woodcraft so im sure it was a pretty good tool.

Lots of good scores, the local restore here is high price junk, mostly used windows and doors...

My dang home pc took a dump on me and it's been too cold and nasty to get out in the shop so I'm stuck cruising threads on tapatalk... My eyes hurt, I think I need glasses... And a climate controlled shop...

Pretty sure some of you guys are new to the GS Thread, thanks for posting!

Has a lot more tools but maxed out picture limit.
Awesome deal! The box alone might go for 3900 so as far as I'm concerned you got the tools free. You definitely absolutely completely ****.

I used to have quite a few Westline sockets. Unless I've sold them all to a single collector, I still should have them, sorted by brand. I'll look tonight when I get home from work.

My first item of the year. Picked up a Bullard fire helmet with a built in LED light. Found at a GW store. It has nice flip down safety glasses. Hats off to the fire fighters, this thing is kinda heavy for a hard hat, then add all the other gear.

Cool find. I have worn the helmets many times but never in a real emergency.

Where or what is GW store?

It's a Goodwill store, this one is called a outlet store. It's in Ft. Myers. I just happened to pass by and decided to stop and see. No prices on stuff, I walked up to the check out to ask how much, was directed to place in a bin, they sell the stuff by the pound. All the stuff is just put out in large bins, or dumped I should say. The bins are about 4' x 8' and about 18" deep.
I thought I was going to have to fight a little kid over the helmet :lol_hitti.

The LED light works, had to clean up from the leaking batteries, light is fairly bright.

Damn! we have Goodwill here but there is never any cool stuff like that. Can't even remember the last time I saw any tools or such at all. Just clothes and old kitchen gadgets.

First grab of the year. Picked this up for $25.

Cart is made by Homak. In great shape, but no key. Should be an easy fix. The three drawer is in good shape and will replace the plastic three drawer for my son's first tool set.

I gave my son that same cart, he loves it. It was my fathers and works well for what it is. Nice snag.

You guys live in deal prone areas. I don't think there will be many deals around here until April or 50 degrees is the average temp.

I saw it; No interest from me since I have a blue point Plasma. I think its in the 2012 Garage sale thread.

I had that lil Miller Spectrum I picked up earlier this year but it maxed out at 1/4" sever cut, I just sold it for $300 before Xmas and bought one of these Cut50F for $309 with 18 extra consumables. The Cut50F has pilot arc start and cuts 3/4" clean, sever cuts 1"... Basically I have $9 in a machine with 4x capacity, a **** ton of consumables and pilot arc function so when they started the ~$200 group buy, I jumped in on it too. Thinking I can flip one locally and make a few dollars to put towards some new tools.

Late 90s I would guess.

We used those Craftsman Pro orange screwdrivers for USAF flightline toolboxes in the late 90's early 2000's so that sounds right. Helps when you lose a tool, bright orange on an airplane sticks out compared to black! We didn't want to shut down flying because someone lost a tool and every bit helps. Waking up the Wing Commander at 3 AM in the morning to tell him the airplanes were grounded for a lost tool always sucked!

had a CL score the other day. Saw a post that didnt say much but had a picture of a couple tool boxes. So I made the call and turns out there was a lot more there. The guys Dad passed away and his son was getting rid of some stuff. He was a lifelong mechanic and garage sale hunter. Both tool boxes were full of tools, pretty much all quality USA stuff from SO, Mac, Cman, SK, Williams, KD, Bonney. So anyway I walked away with the following for $225. Could have bought more but didn't bring enough coin and didn't have much time (rookie mistake). I underestimated the extant of how much was there. The guy didn't accurately portray what he had.

First buy of 2015 finally happened today and it's a project piece I've wanted for a very long time but could not afford before. This little Gasboy Model 290 gas pump showed up on CL for a reasonable price and I jumped on it. Bad winter weather tonight made it a 4 hour round trip but I'm very happy. Once the weather warms up I'll start the body work and paint process. The internals have already been restored to full working order. With a hose and nozzle this thing could pump fuel tomorrow. ;)
