Unfortunately no, they are Taiwan. But they seem to be very nice as far as fit, feel, and finish.

Well, I'm back at it. Snagged another snap-on box with tools. Here's some pictures. Smaller than what I usually pick up. Paid $650 for it all. Also got a lot of motorcycle parts for my bikes worth a good chunk of change.
Super long feeler gauges I thought was cool
There was a bit more than this but I already put some in my toolbox.

What about the Cman 5198/5199's and Reed 209/409's that are so buried in the sheds that you can't find them ? Or the 300lbs anvils for $20 that can't be moved because they're holding the building up ?
I really hope that the sheds aren't filled with cheap bargain bin chinese imports.

That would be horror. Particularly because it's not a short jaunt to the place. The lady sounded "up there" in age, and this was her father's place, plus she very much stressed the tools are old multiple times. Damn, I didn't even think about vises and anvils.......maybe I should hook up the 20' enclosed just in case..........
I'm taking beatcad with me again so we will definitely document the pick. I'm just hoping it's not all rusted beyond salvage! Didn't sound like it except the part where she said there's "piles of tools everywhere."

Is that a high speed variable mini?
Looks mini, but I don;t see a speed adjuster.
It is a sensitive drill press for drilling very small holes. Used by jewlers mainly I think. I have the same press and it spins at 17,000 rpm I believe.

Probably not jewelers, but watchmakers. Odd that it is not variable.
I have a variable speed mini, but I think it was aimed at the early PCB market. It goes from 100-either 10 or 20K. It does't get used much, but when I need it, I need it...

This is a duplicate post, but belonged in this thread. It seems like I'm in good company with other CL addicts. I found this Snap On Rollabench on CL for $150. I researched here and another forum well enough to know that was fair.
When I called the guy he said the box was at the local general aviation air park. Coincidentally, so is my Dad's hanger! It was just rolled over to the next row and mine.

What types of work do you use it for? I picked mine up cheap and have gone back and forth between selling and keeping it. It takes up almost no space and I have very little invested in it but I can't think of what I need it for. It is really cool though.

Really really small holes. Once you get below a certain size drill its just too easy to break them with a full size DP or nabs drills. even 1/16 is easy to break and as mentioned you have a lot of controls, and it has no drive chain chatter, so its smooth as silk drilling. drilling and tapping smaller than say a #6 or even a #8 is pretty delate stuff.
The last time I used it I was mounting miniature blades on a miniature DC motor hub to make a miniature air turbine. Just cause...
It's also been used for jetting work on carbs too.

OK I'm home now, so my mini DP is a "Electro-Mechano" its 1-10K rpms, and a direct drive the whole motor is moved up and down, to drill, and the chuck is on the motor shaft.
The Chuck is 0-5/32 capacity, and it's on a 0 taper

That's really cool. I think I am going to put mine ins cabinet for now and see if I ever end up using it. I know I will end up needing it as soon as I sell it.

Me and buddy went to a house that the husband passed away. Him and I where the first guys in the garage in about 10 yrs. There where only paths and stuff pile 8 feet high. We got some stuff but the memories meant a lot more.

Okay, I finally made a score tonight. As near as I can tell, 1972 10" Craftsman RAS with the full steel base. It does need a switch wired in but thats no biggie. I`ll post pics tomorrow, I need to setup a photo account. I almost forgot, $25 out the door.

Both Dumore and Electro-Mechano (EM) are still in business. Both still make very expensive sensitive drill press. Some EM dp cost $3,000. Mine Dumore retail for about $900. I am using mine to drill circuit board. I almost bought an EM dp, but it was making horrible noise so I pass on it.
