craptian, that Wizard looks a lot like an Indestro in the handle.

I am not real familiar with Indestro but I wonder if they actually made it?

Not worth fixing for me but if anyone wants it just PM me.

Edit: Just found this on Alloy Artifacts

Walden-Worcester 867 Refrigeration Ratchet

[Walden 867 1/4-Drive Refrigeration Ratchet]
Fig. 156. Walden 867 1/4-Drive Refrigeration Ratchet, with Inset for Reverse.
Fig. 156 shows a Walden-Worcester 867 1/4-drive refrigeration ratchet, marked "Walden-Worcester" with "Made in U.S.A." on the reverse.

The overall length is 6.0 inches, and the finish is cadmium plating.

Refrigeration ratchets typically include several additional wrench openings in the handle, and this tool has openings for 7/32 square, 1/4 square, and 1/2 hex.

As of just now I don't know anything about either of them.

Schwing! Tool chubby!

I've got a small collection of Wizard. Tough as nails. My Dad has Wizard sockets. They were the first sockets I ever used as a boy.

As others have said, Wizard was made by Indestro as a house brand for Western Auto.

Got this today from CL, $75.00

It's a Canedy-Otto drill press, not too bad of shape.

It took all I could do to get it out of the truck, once loaded, here at the barn.

It's going to need some care.

Glad to see that the C-O made it home safely Ben. It looks better in your barn than it did in mine already! :p
Looking forward to seeing it restored.

Saw a CL ad for this baby and snapped it up. A Hitachi SB-75 belt sander with 8 Norton belts for $25. Bought it from a policeman who was selling it for his dad. A little tape on the cord but otherwise a great 2 spd belt sander at a super price.:p

This is my #1 tool for my vice restorations. The bag is important because i can attach my shop vac to where the bag belongs to minimize the metal filings.:rocker:

Make sure your shop vac is free of combustibles! It will **** sparks right in!

Actually got this for free the other day. Was just rotting away in a barn.. Snap On CJ86-1

Started cleaning up the one set of jaws, mostly just dirt and light rust. Missing some hardware but that's easily replaced.

Found this yesterday in the scrapyard pile when I was dropping off some light iron. I was originally planning on using the base for a vise stand, but then after looking at it for a while I've decided to restore it for my shop. It will replace a much undersized Ryobi bench top drill press.

Found the original motor and grabbed it just in case.

At $.50/lb it would have been around $85, but the lady working the yard let me have it for $60. I'm happy.

Yep, you **** on that DP!!

For some reason those old Taiwan DP's don't get the respect they deserve here.

(table tilt, table rotation, table elevation, table slots, MT2 arbor and a speed range from 300-3000. What's there not to like!!)

For those of you who have seen these pictures on the Vise thread please ignore, and for the purposes of this thread please ignore the iron on the table...

Just picked up this 'buggy' in Allentown PA. It belonged to an electrician at the Westinghouse factory. He used to work on engine assembly. When they laid him off he was allowed to take this with him.

I LOVE this thing. It is so awesome. I have all the keys to the side drawer locks as well. 5' long and 38" high. Heavy custom stainless steel top and great overall construction and heavy duty casters. The base cabinet is all ball nearing and all heavy metal construction. I think this may be my new tool chest.

Paid $100 for the buggy including the small 3.5" Ridgid vise on top.

I want to mount a 4' LED strip light on supports over the top.

Below freezing this morning but estate sales were still happening!

First one had a huge amount of tools but sucked, prices were ridiculous close to new or higher than new in some cases. I did snag a few pieces that were priced OK. Mac pick set, Proto 1/4" ratchet in nice shape, nearly full can of PB blaster and vintage Ford cans for my collection. $14 total.

Second one had much better prices.
Craftsman late 1970's wall cabinet with the rectangular logo.

Workmate Hobbycrafter, made in USA circa 1979, missing only the alligator clips for soldering.

Luxene press, after research when I go home I believe it is a denture mold press, not an arbor press.

Craftsman Kromedge tap and die set in nice shape, NOS Craftsman 7" coarse wire wheel, vintage =V= 1/4 socket set with Xcelite, Bonney and Wright extras, =V= 1/2" breaker bar. $63 total. I passed up a 1938 Craftsman table saw with a really cool on-of switch since I have so many.

The Klein belt tool holder was the lone find at the last sale, $2.

So I went by what I call a "tool honey hole" here on Saturday. I love going there because the guys running the place will cut me deals and they don't value the tool truck/industrial brands over other crappy brands. I will post some pics as soon as I get them but I did get 3 RHFT ratchets one 3/8ths drive and two 1/2 drive, some proto and challenger tools for $30. Also met up and bought a sweet proto tool box off the c list for $25. I have been wanting one of these for a while now and finally got one. Only way it could be better was if it was plvmb. Pics to come...

As promised I have some pictures of my finds. The tool trolls have been really busy in my garage as of late :) 1st thing I got last week was this craftsman pressure washer 6.5hp with a briggs and Stratton motor on it. It came with a leaking wand and hose. I already have the hose and wand so it didn't both me. It needs a carb rebuild and a few fuel lines replaced which I already have and will do this week end! Got it for $150 of craigslist and is in good shape but dirty

And the rest of my findings from the honey hole and a couple of other shops. I got the proto box of craigslist for $25 which includes the tray inside! I am super stoked over this box.

I think it is right after the name change due to the logo?? Any body know for sure?

This box should clean up decent as I have not done anything to it yet including degrease or wax it

Scored the proto screwdrivers, locking pliers (made by Petersen dewitt), proto los angeles 1/4 ratchet, snap ring pliers, 15" adjustable wrench, socket tray for $40 plus shipping of the c list

Bought some hand tools on Friday, but also purchased at same sale an old wagon wheel.

Took wagon wheel over to a flea market dealer and traded it for a working Dreadnaught Dustless Sander in it's original wooden box and made by Clarke Sanding Machine Co of Muskegon, Michigan.

Age of sander is sometime after 1930 but before December of 1948, as inside the wooden box was a receipt by Clarke showing a repair/replacement of parts on the Dreadnaught in December of 1948. Serial number is 8980.

Just a little interesting history below on the founder of the Clarke Sanding Machine Company.

In 1916, fellow in Dallas TX by name of Alex A. Clarke, invented a sanding machine because he found the wooden bar tops rough on his elbows during his frequent trips to his friendly neighborhood tavern. In 1929, he moved the company to Muskegon, Michigan.

Attached are pics of sander.

Hit an estate sale and then went to their main store since I was passing by. Usually the main store has pretty high prices (and they did today too, $3.00 per socket), but I noticed that their tool section was completely stacked with stuff falling off the shelves. I asked if they'd work with me on the pricing if I bought a pile of stuff and they agreed. $20.00 for the sockets and $30 for everything else. Mostly Craftsman V 1/2 drive sockets with some Snap On, SK and Plvmb mixed in. Starrett Dividers. SK and Craftsman ratchet. Full set of Williams Superrenches. I bought the saw for the split saw nuts, but its actually fairly straight and clean so I may fix the handle rather than parting it out.

Hey All,
Just hit an Estate Sale. Had hoped to find a Pilliod machinist chest that was pictured but alas it was gone.I've never seen one in the wild and this particular estate sale company has had 2 in the past 3 weeks. Of course I've missed them both. But what I did find today was this vintage Craftsman wall hanging toolbox. It measures 31 1/2" h x 19 1/4" w x 5 1/4" d when the doors are closed.
The three screws that anchored it to the block wall were extremely tight,so much so I had to go home and grab an impact driver to budge the screws.
But I got it off the wall much to the dismay of some other customers that would have liked to have bought it. I made sure I had paid for it and took possession of the working key before leaving to get some tools to assist in removal.

I got this Delta Disk Sander off craigslist.
It is from a two man cabinet shop. It has some contact cement overspray on the base but it is otherwise like new. I also got a jet dust collector, my first dc so I hope it works ok for me. A little less than two Benjamins for the pair which I thought was good

Here is some pics of hand tools purchased at sale on Friday.

First pic includes two Plumb Hatchet/Hammers at bottom, then Hubbard 2 lb hammer and a True Temper Genuine Underhill No. 60 hatchet/hammer.

Pic 2 includes two Utica Tools, with one being a fence pliers (1932 and 10-1/4"), while other is nipper (260-7).

Pic 3 and 4 is a Cushionlok Cutter by Bigelow. I'm guessing a carpet cutter, but if not, would like to know what it actually is.

Pic 5 is files with handles.

Pic 6 is Crescent 12 and 10 adjustable wrenches, plus a Lakeside 6.

Pic 7 is a Sohaco Southington Hardware Co try miter square.

Well heck, with all these great scores, this is hardly worth posting.. Great job guys!:thumbup::thumbup:

I had 4 stops planned, did 4 drive byes, including 2 TOO's, but got all but the knife at one stop for $4 and the Knife at the other for a buck.

The knife is a SS Henley & Co, Germany, made in Solengen Germany. Pretty rare to see these old hunting knives, in SS.

The rest was a mixed bag: A cast iron double hook, Craftsman pliers, Vaco PH1-PH2 driver (I didn't even realize till I got it home that it was a double tip, I thought it was a semi Stubby full handle #2...), Index cards, and a leather double pouch;

The pouch uses the classic WWII canteen snaps, and the belt loop is huge, so this may have been mil issue, but no marking I've seen. :dunno:

I have been to lazy to get up early so I have been hitting the sales late. However I cant complain I picked up what you see in the photos for $20.
The cool pick of the day is the Snap On Schwinn APPROVED N8231 Ratchet. the sockets are SO, the swivel and extension and 1/4 drive ratchet are SK, the 3/8 to 1/4 adapter is Craftsman.

No sales for me this week due to this weather wreaking havoc on the plumbing.

Alinc, Awesome Craftsman wall cabinet . IIRC, in another thread Richard Cranium was looking to trade a Craftsman spinner ratchet for one of those if somebody found one.
*Edit not the same cabinet sorry. He wanted the mechanic tool version.

Outlaw, nice Vaco. The stubby version is in my kitchen drawer. Neat to see their bit retention vs detent balls on a flip screwdriver.

t4runner killer find on the Schwinn !

Thanks Nick! Any clue what size/brand lineman's? the ones I've tried so far all seen to be either too big or to small...

Not sure on the pliers, but the knife is a TL-29 that has a knife blade and a screwdriver blade. I have one made by Klein.

I found these today at local flea, while visiting in Statesboro, Ga

The wrench is 36 inches long 1 3/4 x 1 7/8, I hope there's a name on it, but being away from home, I'll have to wait to see.

The plate, yellow/black California was stamped 63 on the back, the sticker expired May of 1970, my understanding , these are hard to come by?

The Miller keg tap was just because I like draft beer, and not everyone has one!

Total $ 45.00

I think that multiple companies made the knife for the military, I have one of dad's spares and it's a Camillus.

I've seen Klein's version on Amazon before but can't find it just now. I think the pliers were Klein also, I remember dad's having the typical Klein yellow handles. They were pretty big, 9 inch maybe?

There were two garage sales in my area yesterday but it was so cold and nasty that turnout was low for both; bad news for the sellers but good news for me. :D

I picked up a 70s vintage Bushnell pocket spotting scope for $1.50, some hockey pucks (for compressor feet) for $.10 each, a car top carrier for $2.00 and an 80s vintage Craftsman "Sawmill" circular saw for $5.00. The saw is in great shape except for the fact that some knucklehead cut the cord and then fixed it with wire nuts, I'll fix it right before I use it. It's just a basic circular saw but I'm amazed at how sturdy it is. It'll go to my weekend cabin, I have a self-imposed rule about only leaving garage sale tools there so if/when it gets broken into I'm not out much. Pics in a bit.

edit: Sorry fellers, I know I promised pics of this stuff 2 weeks ago but then I got the flu, had a major crisis at work, and then 2 family members died within the span of 4 days. This February has been one of the craziest months of my life. :willy_nil

Anyhoo, below are the promised pics (less the cartop carrier and the hockey pucks which have already been stashed away):
