I suppose you could ream king pin bushings with them. The largest is 7/8", and there is a 5/8, 1/2, 3/8, and 1/8. I haven't replaced king pins in 20 years!

Finally getting around to posting ES purchases from last weekend. I ended up going to one local ES 3 times. First on opening day and prices were not terrible so I picked up a few things (previously posted) and made notes about others. Back on Saturday for 40% off and brought home more at discount. Then one last time on Sunday for 60% off and while most of the big machines and tools were gone I was surprised to still see many hand tools left. Maybe because they were still selling things like sockets at $1 each which was the 60% off price. On that note I started picking through a wash tub looking for a few specific ones and then just asked how much for the whole tub full. The answer came back $40 and I said yes. The total tally is shown below. I ended up with way more than 40 sockets so I can complete some sets I have to keep and sell the rest later. Pretty much 99% Craftsman brand, some with surface rust and some like new.
Here is the original tub of sockets with a bunch of misc tools mixed in $40.
After sorting I ended up with 64 1/4 drive, 115 3/8 drive, 94 1/2 drive. About $0.14 each which is way better than the pick one at a time idea.
And then all the extra tools that were mixed in with the sockets are a bonus.
This bunch of misc items were a $1 each except for the cut off stubby ratchet which was a freebie.
The Craftsman drill index and micrometer were $3 each.
Metal wrench rack for $1
Hoodpins and sanding discs $0.50 each.

Some additional items I could not resist from the same ES this past weekend.
A racing go kart frame with extra steering wheels, body fairings and seats.
A 5.5hp horizontal shaft engine. Probably Honda.
A couple like new motorcycle mufflers, an old C-clamp and an antique portable farm scale.
An AutoMeter tach in good shape.
All the above for less than $50.
With all this to sort, clean and store I'll be taking this weekend off to spend with family. Happy sale hunting to everyone else.

Hey when you have a second, please post some more pictures of this ratchet. I don't think I have ever seen one like this. The cover plate is different than I have ever seen in terms of the logo placement. Also the handle looks like a firestone ratchet that plvmb/proto made for firestone but it does not have a firestone logo. There is a plomb/proto thread in the vintage tool section. If you want maybe post them over there? I have a feeling this one is pretty rare

That is an odd duck. I can't recall seeing anything like that. I would have expected it to have Plvmb on it, and be a war years ratchet made by one of the companies they bought...

it was at the bottom of a plastic toolbox with a bunch of junk on top. I saw the handle and though it was a firestone when I pulled it out.

I have seen a few Proto ratchets like that in this neck of the woods. I wonder is some items were sent to different parts of the country??

Anything is possible. I did think of another possibility; Same scenario, but half a dozen years later The Korean war. While no where hear the scale of WWII, it did get busy and by then Proto name switch was done, and the subsidiaries might have made that, ( almost certainly did, but which one...)
This one didn't look promising, but was less than two miles from home, so off I went. All USA stuff, all Proto except the DBE offsets - they are unbranded. The 6" adjustable is kind of rough, but usable; the rest are like new. Ten bux for all, and it wasn't even half price day.

I have had a productive morning, but also want to slap myself. I was looking for patio set. But as I got sidetracked in the garage someone beat me to it. [emoji27]
Anyway here are the finds for today.
Pressure washer hose and gun, scraper plane, Montgomery Ward 50' metal tape, Craftsman 1/3 hp motor, Schrade knife, try square, Whitney Jensen punch, 5 micrometer's, small no name dp vise, hand vise and finally, a Hargrave clamp. Phew. Grand total $45.

Well, went bumming around and hit up 2 estate sales, 4 pawn shops, Habitat Restore, and the local used tool shop. Results varied greatly but all I can say is the pawn shops in the greater Buffalo area ****! Checked one pawn shop yesterday too and found out they only buy and then resell online, no in house sales whatsoever 
Here's what I turned up,
I was happy to find a couple nice Bonney combos in one shop for $1 each, along with WILLIAMS tappet wrench Cornwell combo, Williams pliers, Lectrolite pliers, Stanley and Nicholson sureforms, interesting Footprint adjustable wrench, Craftsman awl and chisel,like new Stanley pry bar, Proto screwdriver, Crescent chisel ,lufkin rule, vise jaw covers, broken door knocker, wood mallets,Proto 3/8 ratchet, Mustang 1/2 ratchet.
I rescued the oddball special Snap On ratchet wrench with socket attached and the little black ratchet with no name/markings (which I quickly recognized as Snap On made) Bonus points to anyone who can id the 1/4" black ratchet HINT: it is incomplete but has a vehicle specific purpose
. I hope to rebuild it.

I have one of these and the torx piece is permanent. I wondered what this was for. I picked it up for $2 at the flea.

I have 3 of them if I am right.
We have a winner! That sure didn't take long. Nice trio there too
. I'd like to convert it to a usable ratchet since someone removed the Corvette bit already and there is no detent ball. Would be nice if the grip was there.

Thank you. Only reason I know is because when I was about 10, my dad was trying to get me into buying and selling. He told me he would sell me all 3 for $5 and help me list them on eBay and see if I could make a profit on them. I kept the ratchets and still picked up on the buying and selling.
ive been slacking on posting my sales because i just have too much of everything (yes its true) and just have been buying a couple items here and there. always on the cheap, but nothing really crazy.
last sunday i hit the jackpot. my figures are in the 70 dollar range for everything you see in the picture, minus the milk crate. my shop rags hide in there.
so much stuff i cant name it all.

Nice haul! All I have to look forward to is the local HS FM. All the CL yard sale listings so far tonight are not worth driving to...
It's pretty quiet around here too, only one sale near me, a contractor cleaning out his barn. I got some interesting spring loaded punches, a little bit of hardware, and a beat up Columbian 3 inch vise (for my brother) for $20. The guy had an old SO top box but the asking price was high, I might go back later this afternoon and see if he's willing to deal a bit. Pics at 11 (ish)...
$1 dollar thrift store find.

Well, the FM and yardsailing was a bust. I spent .50c on a visor extender, and made a Freecycle PU of a band saw, which will go to a buddy of mine.
The band saw is nothing special it's an Ohio Forge so I'm not interested. It is heavy , has the jack shaft, (metal or wood...) and Taiwan not Chicom, so that's good. Still in the van - I need my son to surface and help unload.

Small estate sale about a half hour from home base. The garage opened up first - this was my first pass through the crowd ($10):

The locking pliers are Dunlaps and the needle nose, tin snips and tiny pipe wrench are Craftsman.
My first Snap-On finds in the wild!!
The hole saw was a unique piece - looks like it is intended for paneling. The auger bit is a
Craftsman adjustable hole borer. It has two cutting edges that can go up to a 2" diameter hole. As I'm typing this, I realize that I failed to grab the hand brace sitting on the floor next to the workbench, so now I need to watch for one at the next sale.
After my first cruise through the garage, I stood in line for a chance to enter the house, which had not opened up yet. I thought I was number four in line, but when the family members opened the front door, somehow eight people ended up in front of me. Two guys claimed they had a cardboard box as a line saver. Others just clambered on up. Regardless, none of us thought much of it until a family member hollered "Two at a time in each room, please!" With only two rooms open, the rest of us got to watch through the open door as the first four bought up anything of value. I gave up and went back to the garage for a second pass. I bargained with the young guy in the garage to $12 for these:
I'm really tickled with this Craftsman crown-top hand saw. It has very little wear, and you can still clearly see the screen printing on the side. The blade says "Blade Made in Norway" on one corner. I buy most of these tools to use, but this one is so pretty, it may just end up on the wall after I clean it up a little bit.
