Bluebomber - thought I did well when I bought a hammer drill for $20 - you just ran by me with your buy..
Bill

Meh. Our buys are about the same. Mine just came with a battered case that I had to bang on with my body hammer to get straight again. I also checked local Craigslist prices $20 is the low end for corded Milwaukee hammer drills. So our buys were good, but not suckworthy.

Stopped by Derry Tool Liquidation, a used tool store, and picked up a Thermal Arc 95s. I got the guy to throw in a TIG torch and a bag of collets and collet bodies for free. I'm happy and can't wait to use it!:bounce:
Paid $280 for it.

here are those odd pliers I was talking about.
l had thought GM side post battery terminals, someone else said that, but I don't see any on line.
I gave $2.00 for them, cause they were odd.
Any idea for sure?

Yep, pretty interesting, The quote above mentions he is missing the # 12 battery pliers.
Wonder if they are for GM side post?

You could try contacting him and sell them for a profit?
That did enter my mind.
But at the same time, I think there cool, And will just keep them for the fact that there unique,
now just saying If, someone was like , hey bub, I'll pay pal you $100.00 right now, (just saying) I don't think there $100.00 cool, and he would have a deal.................LOL
What do they say, everything has a price?
I am now thinking these are more like just regular battery pliers,
for top post batteries, with regular 12-13 mm and 1/2" heads, or might even work on imports with the 10 mm heads?
But think they would work well on GM side post, even griping on the round part.

Somewhat "funny" story, welder at past job was always giving me this **** about using the "Proper tool for the job" Started his **** when i was using battery pliers to disconnect a battery,
I said something like hello, there are battery pliers, professor.
I used to call him "The Professor"....................LOL

EDIT
Now, "here we go" .......................LOL..........................
I am about 3/4 temped to buy those No 11's off e bay.

Woman I WAS going with, said, "when are you going to stop buying tools you don't really need"?
I told her "When I Die"...............LOL

A whole week off from work, so I can take on the Tuesday estate sale ads! This one in Amesbury, MA turned out to be the home office of an auction house that just wanted to thin their consignment inventory. No problem - I was happy to take this 1/2 horse Craftsman block grinder off of their hands for $40, stand included.

Everything works great (even the light bulb's good) and it takes 40 seconds to fully spin down.

The chest of drawers is pretty rickety. I'll decide today whether to keep it as the bench or bust it apart and make it source material for a grinder/buffer station.

BB cool deal on the grinder and stand. Something about the chest stands out. Save it if you can IMO. Too cool to scrap unless its beyond...

All I found today.....for a buck fiddy!

2 steel rules and a magnetic S-K screwdriver (w/1 broken bit)

Cleaned up the screwdriver and found a couple of bits to go with it.

Nice find, Bobcat, especially for the TIG gear. I really "need" to get up there and check out their inventory.

Grabbed a nice steel cabinet/catalog last weekend for $60. Should be handy. Not nearly as big or pretty as the oak card catalogs I grabbed from Boston public library though...

Nice score on that SK screwdriver !

Thanks.....I've probably got a gazillion fixed (non-ratcheting) bit screwdrivers around (shop, house, car, work) but you know how this tool buying/collecting disease goes.....it's just to hard to pass up a deal on a good USA tool!

Anyone know how to get a replacement end cap?...this ones kinda chawed up.

That's the first to cap I've ever seen, I'd like to know about replacements too!

I just picked up the sibling to that today! Same layout/size, it's a Cole with a different handle. I'm going to try to get pictures but I don't have a camera with me.

Paid $20 for it and got a Hawaii license plate. Also spent $2 at another sale for a Powr Kraft 1/2 ratchet, a pair of Snap-On cutters, and a mystery set of needle nose that I need to clean up.

when it rains, it pours; busy week here.
fetched a Taiwanese upright drill press, an old Rong Fu RF-115 4x6 band saw (needing a pulley), and an industrial sand blasting cabinet with fan/filter box, and a slew of (mostly metric MAC) wrenches.
total spent, $200.

Today's offerings (part 1) -

The first is from the second estate sale of the day. It was down the street from my house. Given the area, I wasn't expecting much.

OMG ! :yikes:

This place was packed to the gills with collectables, kitch, cast iron toys, clocks (and parts), and antique furniture (and parts). It was a resellers/collector's ********* (until you tried to negotiate the tagged prices). Not much for tools though, which as I said, I was expecting.

For $20, I came out with -
2 light hammer handles
unknown 3" "pass-thru" mount vise (broken horn, complete mounting hardware)
unknown small dividers
HF diamond hole saw kit
import small fine jeweler's file set
repro thermometer (needed for the shop)

(I'll put the first sale in another post)

My last day off this week, and I managed to get out for the first day of a Fri-Sat-Sun yard sale. This one was billed as "Selling everything and moving to Florida! 40 years as a tradesman, garage as big as house" type sale, and it did not disappoint. Very nice gentleman and wife leaving for FLA next week, so he needed to sell.

Two early bird ********* pickers were already there and had made piles, but I managed to find a few bargains - you all can be the judge.

d42b2d90374efa042b42933bdbb83d54.jpg

Spectra-Physics 1110 laser level, with tripod, case and few other leveling tools. The power cord was chewed up and the level wouldn't turn on. I paid the marked asking price of $25. After I got it home I rewired the coax power connector and it fired up. The auto level feature doesn't seem to work, but I'll download the manual and continue to troubleshoot it next weekend.

A brace of $5 tools. I again paid his asking price on each. The fish tape, stapler and auger bit will go up on EBay. The heat gun I'll keep.

I found my Milwaukee Sawzall - not as good a deal as Outlaw's recent $5 Sawzall, but I'm happy.

10" Rigid pipe wrench
Globemaster 15/16" combo wrench, made in West Germany
S-K 1/4" x 5/16" DOE wrench
Stack of 5 storage hooks

Buckets of stuff were $5 each. The first had 12 heavy 4" hinges, 6 more storage hooks and a bag of 1/4" x 1-1/2 self tapping screws. The second had 2 4" casters and 4 5" locking caster wheels.
