JakeMac and Mohawk Dave:

The one end does look like the early style pickaroon used in logging.

However, the other end is what is throwing me, as it just has a narrow style striking or hammer head that I haven't yet found in the pictures of the early pickaroons.

Wonder if they had a reason to combine two functions into the same tool in logging?

Yea...google vintage pickaroon axe and look at images. There's quite a few from light weight to heavy. I'm guessing with heavier logs one could use the hammer to beat and move stuff or even break off small branches etc.

Edit: I also saw links where dudes have taken old fire axes or other axes and turned into a pickaroon. which is what I will do now since I have not found a real pickaroon but I have plenty of old axes from yard sales

came across a nice penens 1/2" set in what I am guessing is an original box. Does anyone know what the label looked like ( said..) originally? 20bux :)

I don't KNOW, but best guess: Big letters: RUGGED.

Smaller letters, :dunno:

Nice scores, guys!
I picked up this small Craftsman air compressor cheap. 1 cylinder and a small tank, nice portable size. The owner was packing up, I asked him about the compressor and he said it was "tired". Took it home and it fired right up and built pressure fine. Paid $20 for it.

Maybe he meant HE was "tired"?

Nice score! How fast will it hit shutoff?
That old Sears builds pressure up in about 3 to 4 minutes and hits shutoff. Has plenty of pressure to run a brad nailer (which is why I picked it up). The 1/2 horsepower Emerson electric motor is in good condition. Compressor pump runs fairly quiet too.

I know I'm late but Wow! I just can't believe the suckage this week. Impala64,Outlaw,Davefr to name a few, you all ****!

t4runner though, congrats You Really ****! :eyecrazy::drool::thumbup::willy_nil:shocking:! In fact, I think that haul ***** so much that it may have sucked the suckage from all the other suckees who sucked in the past. All those top quality ratchets and other tools have to equal the biggest "yOU ****" I've ever seen in this thread!
Please at least tell us the seller was blind, or maybe from another planet and never heard of a tool before!

Nice! Do those have oval holes in the bottom of the drawers towards the front?

Just curious. I have one like that. Only downside to them is the bottom of the drawers isn't flat. Each individual drawer should lift out of the main track. Are they ~18.5" wide, 28" deep?

Very nice! I have a pair of oak card catalogs from Boston public library. Hardest part is organizing the drawers!

I think it will be some awesome storage. The bearings are massive for the drawer size. Here is a drawer pic. Mine are flat... And yes, that is the size and they lift right out.

Pick up a few Craftsman =v= to make a 3/8th set, and these to items for $1.25
I think the screwdriver is missing piece's, as it looks like it might have been able to hold a screw. and the second I have no clue, it's made of aluminum, and if I were to guess I would say both ends are 1/2", but will check later.

Mike, you will LOVE that RAS. Give it a tune up, and you will be amazed.

Outlaw:

I had a RAS a few years back, but sold it when I moved.

Saw this Dewalt a year ago and liked the look of it, but price was higher than the market.

A month ago, saw it again and price was reduced and thought about it, but decided it was still a bit high for me. Owner suggested making an offer, so went back yesterday and we came to agreement. Been cleaning and lubing it up and so far no bad surprises. Looks like it will do the job.

Stopped by an estate sale this morning and picked up a few ratchets.

IMG_20150619_100201129.jpg

Paid $6.50 for the three. The 3/8" Easco is completely locked up but looks to be in good shape otherwise. Hopefully a little cleaning will get it spinning again.

There was also an older Craftsman vise there for $45 but I only had $35 on me. I put a 'bid' in for $30 so they'll call me before doing the 1/2 price thing tomorrow. I assume someone will pick it up at $45 though.
