There was another guy 10 numbers behind me that kept trying to cut ahead in the line that was after the compressor as well. After paying for the compressor, the guy who runs the sale came over with a pile of hoses and said -
"The guy who was cutting the line tried to buy your hoses."
I said "The hoses are included in the price ?"
He says "Yes" and gives me a wink.
Sometimes it pays to be standing right in front of the *******.
Amen to that last one!

No garage sales as such but I did hit some Antique and junk stores in Montana while on vacation last week. I picked up a very nice condition CSZ Czech made bayonet, a universal size Craftsman nut driver. Not sure how well it really works but I had never seen one before so it had to come home. A nice old school Electro-Voice microphone, license plates from each state I traveled through to add to the garage collection and, an old rifle scabbard with some decoration and just the size for one of my old air rifles.
Great fun rummaging through old west stuff and antiques.

Thanks. It should clean up pretty well although. I emptied it out today and I have never seen so many broken taps, even big ones (1/2" plus). He must not have used oil when tapping...
The interior felt is in pretty bad shape. Anyone have any ideas about refurb/replace?
Was actually $50 for the Kennedy and the Craftsman box with the other tools (micrometer, Maglite, punch etc.).

So you are saying I should spend a little time cleaning off the guy's spray paint fetish? Used lacquer thinner to remove quite a bit from both of the Craftsman tool chests.

No, it was in Wilmington on the Tewksbury side. Extreme range for me, but I made arrangements to get the time to be there. Gibbs is/was (?) a car dealership.
The other guys in the garage were picking though the smalls, so I was only crowded by the one AH from Boston going after the compressor. As soon as I saw the price I slapped a sold sticker on it and paid right away then went looking for more. So, I'm not sure what went out the door while I was takin' care of Bidnez.
I swear that the stinkeye he gave me had a spanish accent.

Simple Green will often remove Spray bomb paint without getting to the original paint. I will often take paper towel soaked with it, lay in on, and cover the we Paper T. with saran wrap. Check it fairly often, so it doesn't dig into the original.
those drills can just be soaked in it.
You get first dibs if I run into any more. I finally swapped a guy here on GJ my newer non-matching one for his older one that matched my other two so now I have a complete matching set. I think the swap with shipping cost me as much as the set originally but my OCD level has dropped a few points, I sleep better at night now...

Craftsman tool box and random tools. Really like the sheet metal punch kit and the micrometer.
Micrometer turns out to be a Starrett 238Rl Heavy Duty Micrometer 0 - 1". Nice for $2.

Brand new Drill Doctor 500, case sat in the workshop and is dirty. $40
Misc tools, including a 1234 plomb, proto LA 1" X 1 1/8" DOE, 10" proto clickstop crescent, 8" Ciller crescent, matco 1", buffalo 3/4" X 7/8" DOE, and a various others. $25 - I wanted the plomb, and LA wrench for trade here if someone wants them.
3 oil cans including a goldenrod and a radiator can and spout that doesn't leak. $5
nos sprayer pump - bigger than I need but it will do, 13 pieces of ready rod, slow vehicle sign $5
hit paydirt when one of the old guys was moving his pile to the trucks. he had bought 4 lincoln power lubers for $70, asked him if he wanted to sell one immediately after and he says, "maybe." I walk up to him and ask him if he was doing taxi work for the tool piles and he says, "yes, and I'll sell you a power luber if I can remember what I paid." I told him $70 for four, I'd give him a $20 if he moved my pile for $2.50 and 1 of the lubers for $17.50 and he says, "yes."
So I bought a 12V powerluber and had my pile of stuff moved for the $20.
all told - $95

Picked up a small closed end wrench at a yard sale on Saturday and after cleaning it up, the only information listed on it was "Little David".
In doing some Googling, the only thing I could find that was related to tools was that Ingersoll Rand had a line of "Little David" Pneumatic Tools in the 1919-20's era.
Would this wrench go to one of these tools and if so, anyone know which one in particular?

That is correct. Anymore one of the old guys always brings a 4 wheeler or utv and for a nominal fee will nearly always move your ****. Notice nearly always.
Missed out on an older dialarc 250, gave up the bid @ $375 and it went for $500. Still wondering if I should have stayed and played, but I knew I had $1250 plus going out for the well repairs. Could not test to see how it ran, so I'm cool getting out early.
Some was a fair buy, some most certainly was not.
For a go figure moment, ran into the fella who owned the goods and he asked me how I did. Told him he made a little money off me and then asked him why the drill doctor was brand new. "Good intentions" was his reply.

Damn glad I quit bidding on that after that news. I need to upgrade to an ac/dc machine since my good brother "borrowed" mine. I'm now stick welding with a straight ac machine. Its cool, he is a good dude.

They said it worked perfectly then one day wouldn't turn on. They were very thankful that I took it and paid the $1 asking price since it took up a lot of space in their garage. Took 5 mins to fix loose wire (and then another 30 mins to figure out how to reassemble). I'm bummed that I missed a vintage carver tube amp and receiver by a few mins. Asking price was $30 on the set. And I showed up to the sale an hour after opening.
L L bean canvas bag for $2 asking price. Picked up two of these (a pink one for wife). Always wanted one.

Hit a sale in St.Pete, first day was on Sunday, a little weird. A large 3 car garage that was standing room only. First grab was a Jorgenson half round c clamp, which I paid retail for at $ 15, but I wanted it. Picked up a few more clamps, a couple Greenlee knockout dies, file handles, a $ 3 Diamond adjustable. The deal of the day was 7 rolls 12 gauge stranded wire for $ 20 , not full, but full enough.
Today I went to a local sale that I missed because I was 2 hrs away at yesterday's sale. The lady was nice be nough to let me come by and look around, $ 70 later I left. Must be wire week, 2 full rolls of 12 gauge for $ 14, box of electrical boxes and fittings, brand new 24" Ridgid pipe wrench $ 4, new Kliens, tape measure, razor blades, a electric keypad door lock, hand full of mostley new hole saws, a 8" CM wire brush for the benchgrinder, misc hardware and a old Appleton cord reel. I'm going back tomorrow.

Perhaps... Its a stronger solvent than Simple Green, but I have never used it on steel. I paint miniature sci-fi figures and sometimes pick them up already painted for cheap on Ebay. Normally the paint will need to be stripped off for repainting. Figures come in styrene plastic and white metal. Plastic ones go in Simple Green and metal ones go into PineSol (which will melt the plastic).
These two solutions will generally loosen most paint, but occasionally I run across a primer that will not come off, so then we escalate to brake fluid (plastic figs) or acetone (metal figs). Fun with solvents!

I think you want the original formula if you are using it to strip paint. Some of the others do not work as well.

The hardened blades are hot riveted flush to the handles. very thin blades and lots of ********** action as the blades have a curve to them, the tips will actually srping the blades open a bit.
