There is usually someone who found a deal but was too busy with the holidays to post it up until the following year.

Went and searched my posts for my 5 favorite finds of 2015.

That looks like a military carpenters tool kit. I don't know a lot about them but used them a few times in the Marine Corps. Awesome find!

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know about that. Now I am wondering if it is related to the foot locker from the same sale. I see research in my future. I will let you know what I find.

What Brand was the 1" in 3/8? The only brand I've found that big has been Indestro...

The Makita is a 9403 and runs great and the charger seems not to have been used. Paid $32 for all.

I just yesterday paid $275 for the Makita 9403 new, and paid another $50 for 8 Diablo belts to go with it. I guess my post is the opposite of gloating... it is more of a congratulations to you for such a great deal.

I was torn between the PC362, PC362V, and this Makita 9403, all at around the same price. I eventually went Makita, thinking that it would have been made in Japan, while the Porter Cable would have been made in China (I have several newer PC tools that are made in China).

Turns out, the Makita 9403 was actually made in the United Kingdom. And the Porter Cable was made in Mexico.

Yes, it was a comment to one of T4runner's posts, as evidenced by the quote I responded to. The intention was to compliment the value of t4runner's garage sale find by comparing his score to what I was willing to pay for the same tool retail. The dramatic difference surely supports the very idea of garage sale hunting, which is timeless, and not limited by year.

As with most tool purchases I make, I search the tool make and model on TheGarageJournal to get an idea about how others like or dislike the tool. This happened to be the ONLY thread where this particular tool was even mentioned. After reading the post, I couldn't help but congratulate t4runner on the value of his find. BlueBomber, If my previous post violated some unwritten rule on this forum, please let me know through private messaging. Thanks.

No, no, no, I just thought you might have posted in the wrong thread. As each year's Garage Sale thread wraps up, most traffic goes over to the next year's thread. I'm glad you were able to find a useful reference in the "archives". I too search on tools and Google often leads me to Garage Journal. That's one of the reasons I try to list every tool I find, to kinda pay it forward.

Also, I'm sorry I came off as a little uninviting--was not my intent.
