The first 5 pics are the drawers from the Kennedy roller I haven't gone through yet

Sixth pic is a gravity feed sandblaster

Seventh pic is a Jet belt sander. Don't know if it works yet but for $5 a took a chance.

Not pictured is a large wooden spool, 28" tall and 33" in diameter. Guy couldn't believe I it in the Excursion with everything else!

Total was $230. After awhile they just started giving me stuff real cheap, a dollar or 5 dollars.

Thanks Rick, pretty sure with a little maintenance it will be the last band saw I will ever need in my lifetime. Not saying I won't buy more, just don't think I'll ever "need" to buy more.[emoji38]

Skinned out of work early and ran into two sales late afternoon. Couldn't believe there was much left but I managed to grab a few items. The prices were high being first day but I think I'll come out ok in the end. Got it all for $221.00

Top better pics of the Littco? I think I have a similar vise by someone else with "pat. pending" and I actually found the patent. Stanley later made the 700 series vise based on that clamp on design.

Those Utica's may have been for leather, or perhaps for prepping leather belts?

BB you got some nice vise grips in those Kennedy drawer! Are the DP table vise grip Actual VG? or a chicom knock off?

the 2 pair of grips with the funky jaws are for rounded over hex nuts and bolts and really work well if you have clearance (I once changed a starter with the small pair...)

More items from an on-line auction. First, a bench top model of a B&D Workmate - unused.








Second, a small Millers Falls miter box - also unused - fence has never been mounted onto the box - and shipped in 1963 for all of $0.85!











And finally, a Goodell Pratt miter box. Both this box and the MF came with appropriate saws by E. C. Atkins.

Went to go look at/purchase a bend pak 2 post lift that was supposedly 10k rated. We had agreed on $1,000. Got there and it was a 9k. Decided to go ahead and get it for $800. First time taking down a lift, thankfully they had a forklift. Not sure if I got a good deal or not.

Here's some better pic's of the Littco. It was missing the keeper pin in the screw so I have that to deal with but other than that it's real nice . Does yours have a similar web construction? I've seen serval different designs . This one is all squares , no angles like some I've seen.

Those Utica's have me stumped. I thought leather or veneer or even gaskets??? The only reason I bought them was cause I didn't know what they were. I have a BAAAD habit of that ... I call it my learning curve lol.

You'll like that sandblaster, I have a slightly diffrent model, but I've done a lot of blasting with it. Northern carries parts and consumables for it.
I need to build a cover like the one on yours. Make sure you keep in on when not using, you would be surprised what can end up in there and it won't exit through the bottom with a 120 psi behind it, ask me how I know

That sure didn't look like a saw blade, but sure enough!

LMAO cbacres, thanks man! I have decided that having three band saws is actually vital and I must have been in some sort of trance when I posted that thought of possibly letting one go. What size is your powermatic? I have a Craftsman 12" I am parting out and it has a table, no miter slot as it's the older version but the table is in good shape.

Nines, the Poermatic is a 14", 143. I think the table is 15" square.
I'll shoot you a pm for some photos.
I have a table saw top I thought I might try to use, but that may not work the best.

I hit an Estate Sale from what appeared to have been an automobile and motorcycle mechanic and enthusiast.

There were a lot of quality tools in the garage but nothing I needed. I went in the basement and found a certificate for the PO for completing a BMW motorcycle service class back in 1986. The basement was pretty well picked over.

I rummaged thru a cardboard box on the floor and found the following:

A Snap On promotional screwdriver and a Snap On 50th Anniversary mini screwdriver in a cool gold flake color. I needed a magnifying glass to make out the imprint on the handle - the paint is long gone! I'll wipe some paint into the grooves to make it visible.

Top, Mine is very similar in construction with the ribs, but a "narrower waist" - "Before" Pics from Dec. (I've wire wheeled it since, but that's all)

The wife and I braved the lowest temps of the season here, 47 degrees.Went to a sale listed as a moving sale, lots of tools and stuff. Didn't find a ton, but was happy with what was there, specially the SO Torqometer that I'll flip to cover a couple of sales.
The tools: a set of CM DBE metric wrenches, double line in a neat PVC holder, a real the wrap tensioner,a quick action clamp, a box of misc cables with clamps on the ends, a couple that I can use for jumper cables, a bolt cutter up to 5/16 and a CM 1/2" breaker bar.

Here is my stock up part of the sale. All of the liquid and spray items were free.

My morning entertainment: was going through the free stuff, all chemicals , oil, etc when a guy asked me if I seen any sprays, like WD 40, gun oil. I handed him a can of WD. He set it down and went on and on about t was missing the spray nozzle, like I could do something about it. Well, I moved over to a container the was full of water form rain and the can were floating in it, a good full can of WD (witha nozzle) and a can of Boeshield. Even free, some people just can't be bothered to look.
My wife did a great job of watching my pile, as a couple guys reached for the Torqmeter. I took her to her favorite breakfast place after.

Justification Jake, that's why I love this place!

Outlaw, most custom seat builders use band saws these days for foam. I used to use an electric knife like used in kitchens before I got an 80's craftsman band saw I sold long ago. I still use the electric knife on repairs but cutting 4" thick foam square to the sides is almost impossible.

When I was working in an upholstery shop back in High school and Saturdays a coupe of years after, we used a band saw, but all the custom foam shops I have been in the past few years all use a hot wire setup.

It's not that hard to make one either

Went to the ice market today. I was in my glory. The sun was shining and there were lots of old tools to dig through!

This pile followed me home for $25. Highlights for me are the odd Craftsman Long C multi wrench, and a very old Plomb specialty wrench.

Some other Plomb Los Angeles, Williams, Bonney, Mac, Snap On, Craftsman, Barcalo, Thorsen, New Britain,an old stake, etc.

Grabbed these off of craigslist. 1 Starrett 209-C, 2 Brown & Sharpe and 1 J.T. Slocum. It seems like they're all accurate except one is .001" short. $25 for all four

Also stopped by a flea market next to the micro brewery and picked up a bunch of small taps since they were 3 for $1

Went to the same sale as Jim; picked up everything in the picture for 75.

Craftsman 5176 vise, snap on ratcheting bit driver, long screwdriver, roto ratchet, Mac extension with a universal at the end of it, Central Dial indicator and a Bluepoint hacksaw. Tons of other stuff, the prices marked were crazy, but they wanted stuff gone and were willing to negotiate.

Amazing how many great scores for January!

Great story about the guy at the free pile CB!

I got a few things, mostly from the same place twice. I went back with SWMBO and my daughter later and we got some stuff there and at another yard sale.

(Sorry for the overly back lit pics; new camera and it doesn't seen to have a "full flash" function, so the great light from the window dominates...)


First trip:

2/3 or so of a P&C Socket set (Includes a 31/32...), Utica NN that cleaned up nice, and a "Made in USA" Double male extension. (not sure of brand)

A fairly large Hand crank grinder, spins smoothly but I'll open and re-lube it anyway, I always do...

A mattock,

An older Deiterich Post Compass set, missing a few pieces and the case in particular a bit worse for the wear...

An older Scrabble game, all wood pieces.

EDIT: All the above was $20

And after we came back, I snagged an alcohol lamp with cover, an old Campaign Button from the Reagan - Bush years, A Swiss Music box movement (it had a hair wound up in the flywheel/paddle thingy, and once that was out plays fine), and a bunch of cool old projector lamps. I may try to come up with some sockets and set these up for display, and actually drive them with a Variac, or possibly run several in series to reduce the voltage (and light/heat output) to each. EDIT: all this was $8

Not pictured are SWMBO's Plunder which included about 20 glass positives (Pictures) - probably 2X2 a couple of old sifters, a Wallace silver "jingle bell" ornament, a small ornate frame and a bunch of "light catcher" stuff, (she's like a raccoon that way...)

I'm not talking about a hot knife. its a Hot wire cutter and uses nichrome wire (like a toaster uses) and you just push the foam through table saw style, (unless you use a hand meld setup) Again, these are fairly easy to make.

Thanks! I've been looking for a job tote and this one is a bit worn, but lots of life left in it! The 3/8" drive Proto ratchet was seized but works like new after a thorough cleaning. Bonus!

The DP vise grips are no name so probably import.

I have those same funky vise grips and use them all the time for brake line fittings.

The drawers are 5 5/8" wide, 4 5/8" tall and 17 1/2" long not counting the pull.
