From a poorly worded CL ad. The guy was moving out of state and needed it gone. $25.

Figured some of you guys knew a bit about the older Craftsman drill presses so I thought I'd ask my question here. If there's a thread on GJ about them, let me know and I'll post there!

I borrowed this picture from another thread. Are the two rods, one where the pulley attaches and the one with the notches, supposed to slide or be fixed to each other? On mine, when you lower the chuck, the pulley goes down as well and bottoms out on the casting. It doesn't seem right to me, but I've never messed with one before.

Nice haul, Ryan. Posted alphabetically, too--very tidy.

I'm in love with my Stripmasters, also an estate sale find. It's like using a nail gun--its makes it so easy, you never go back.

The craftsman sale is in the morning so hopefully i can have some good stuff to show you guys tomorrow! It snowed a lot today so it won't be fun standing outside in line tomorrow i will try to get there at least a hour early. I hope to walk out of there with at least those craftsman ratchets and breaker bars and i will be happy.

Ok, what are you going to dedicate to that press? You are correct that it is a 30 cal, at least that is what I found on a search. Damn thing has gotta be heavy, but probably one helluva press.

Oh no the guy behind me is after the tools as well. There are 99% guys here. My strategy is grab first look at prices later or i won't get anything. Going to grab every ratchet and breaker bar i see then i will go for the other stuff.

My plans of sleeping in were crashed last night when I got a text from Merc mentioning an estate sale near me. The company running it is a good one with decent pricing and it was right around the corner so we met up over there this morning. There were lots of carry boxes, Kennedy and Craftsman cantilevers and some others but nothing really needed. I dug around long enough and finally found a Proto wrench, mostly everything was China or Taiwan, just as I was about done looking, I saw the familiar Snap On fiberglass handle on the body hammer and snatched it up. Total spent, $3.

It's been over an hour and we still haven't heard from Cody.
I hope we didn't lose him in the stampede. :scared:
:lol_hitti

Hope he didn't slip on any pet hair!

I didn't do as well as Nine but I picked up a rubber mallet, wooden mallet, boy's axe, and Coleman 413G stove in good condition for $17. No pictures for now, maybe during lunch.

Wish I would've gotten there a bit earlier, but the wife decided to start some 5:30 AM yoga class. Crazy women...

Sorry guys went to a few places after the sale. The sale was mostly a bust i don't know what happened but a lot of the tools like the ratchets were missing. The guy behind me got a few because they took everything out of the chest and put it on the tables so that cost me some time. I think they sold some stuff before the sale myself even tho the guy said they didn't.

I've noticed a trend in my area that all the yard/garage sales start on Thursday or Friday during the day. Not sure what the idea behind it is since most people have to work during the week. Maybe they want to leave the **** for the people who come on weekends?

Yeah either they slipped by because they were tucked away somewhere or they were sold to a worker there? The older guy behind me was really nice and we talked for awhile but he took the good stuff i didn't get! Oh well i always find craftsman stuff every once and a while like the usa ratchets and breaker bars so there will always be more at another sale. I might come back tho because the wrenches they kept in sets same as the screwdrivers and sockets. But they were price over $40 but at half off they will be a better deal!

Bingo.
They're targeting the resellers in an attempt to clear out more stuff in bulk. The rest is left for the weekend hunters.

Who knows about the one tomorrow there are no pics yet and all they say is snap-on tool collectibles! That could either mean tools or it could mean snap-on hats and toy trucks who knows?
