I got this Proto Professional 5452A rhft ratchet today. It is 1/2 drive, quick release. Sounds like dual pawls. Very nice ratchet

Slept though my alarms this morning and missed the flea market. I was a complete zombie until 2:30p. Sadly, no alcohol was involved, just a long sleepless week and a dreary overcast day to set the mood.

I know the feeling! That is how I missed out on my $35 dollar Wilton bullet is by sleeping through the alarms I set. I still got there before it opened but someone else beat me to it.

You guys are killing it! I'm amazed at some of the stuff that people will give away.
I didn't have too much time for tool hunting this weekend, but I did manage to find a few things.
SnapOn 3/8" drive torque wrench, 48oz BluePoint ball peen (largest one I have now), most of a set of USA made torx sockets, Penncraft 1/2" drive RHFT ratchet, empty MAC drill index, True Temper axe and busted brush axe with good useable haft.

Already pulled the stops out and will remove dividers in each drawer.

Each drawer has 6 steel rollers ball bearing rollers. Weighs over 200lbs.

Bottom drawer is only 1" above floor so I'll probably put down some 2x4s to lift it up a bit.

Matt:

That's a nice cabinet - I would have grabbed it too at that price. 200# - I hope it wasn't in a basement . . .

Cheers

Finally picked up this air compressor from BlueBomber this morning. It was HEAVY! Took him, his son and me to load it in my rig. I'm glad I have a forklift now! Gave him $180 for it but it is well worth it. Thanks Again BB:rocker:

Got this Waterloo box last weekend for $40. It was barely used, come with the keys. I think this is made in US?

Mike That is just too cool of a hand drill! is that main gear bronze?

Matt, nice find on the card cabinet! Those are GREAT for carrying heavy loads in the drawers (I have one in use, another I need to place and load and the bottom drawer is loaded with most of my 1" & 3/4" drive ratchets, sockets, and extensions. it doesn't even notice all that weight!

Tool master, do you have a COO for that standard Golf wrench? I'm guessing its for a particular something related to golf?

Glad you like it, BC. I had forgotten how heavy it was until we lifted it. It has enough mass to double as a heat sink, or a nuclear bunker. Old school.

Mike,

The two supports in the back are literally just a pair of 2x4s standing straight up against the tailgate. I then ran two ratchet straps, one on each side, down to the stake pockets and pulled it down tight. One ******** the front secured it to my snow plow mounts, with a blanket on the cab roof to protect the paint. I didn't take it up on the highway, but I think it would have done okay. I'll try to snap a few more pics tomorrow.

If it is it will be stamped inside on the right hand side, on the floor of the top compartment. I picked up an early 90s 20" 2 drawer a few months back and it was stamped with the year and USA. Decent boxes, comparable to the entry level craftsman of the late 80s early 90s.

Looks like we're gonna get that tomorrow, today was another blazing hot day. Saturday was bad as well. The auction I went to ran out of water at 1pm, I should have brought a case and sold it outta my trunk.

Sorry for the double post, forgot to multi-quote.

That would be because Craftsman boxes were (still?) made by Waterloo. They still carry limited parts for them as I found out when I needed drawer clips.

Dude, you STOLE that for $25!! No matter what you think about modern Craftsman boxes, that's a You **** deal.

:+1: That's a 70's or so box and one of their best as well!

I've never seen that particular drawer configuration in that size overall top case. I think I like your 8 drawer setup better than the 10 drawer as you get two more full width drawers and three instead of 6 narrow drawers and lose the hard to utilize deep narrow drawer.:thumbup::thumbup:

Great score Berserk! Is the mid box missing the bottom drawer?

Nope, the drawer pulls are at the top of the drawer, and that mid is another rare find. three drawers as well (instead of the more common but still rare 2 Drawer)

Suckage indeed for a mere $25!

Astro, Great scores! On the tub pic: what brand are the snips (I think they are snips it almost looks like that have a "head"?), and what is the (brass?) rod looking thing in the lower right on top?

After driving away 1-2 miles, I realized I didn't remember putting a socket box filled with things I had collected. So I went back, hopping it would still be there. To my surprise it still was - and he charged me $2 (No the Ivory ruler was purchased at a different time)

Some nice finds I see, agreed in the suckage on the craftsman top and mid box!

Flea market was packed today, but not a lot of tools. Still ended up with this lot, lots of Bonney and craftsman DBEs.

Discherd,
You scored some really cool stuff. I like the drill index, NOS Nicholson files, ancient SK ratchet and old classic chisels. You ****!!

Discherd, I have two of those Drill indexes (both for numbered drills like yours), but made by General. so I'd expect that you Craftsman was also made by General for Sears. the Logo is interesting though - with the Blue, I'd suspect late 30's or so. (No luck in the catalogs I have though)

Thanks guys, and yes it does indeed have the bottom drawer. Also some "custom" drawer inserts made of an old rubber mat that are in front of office buildings and stores.
That's cool to hear the age, it is in great condition for being that old. I am real happy it has the middle box but wish I had the bottom to go with it. I would have been happy to pay a few dollars more. BTW it is blue in color, its hard to tell from the pics

Picked this craftsman machinist box for 20$. The top was pretty beat up so I put a coat of paint on it.

Anyone know what vintage this is. Can't find anything on the net

Thanks

Inquired with a vendor at a local flea market about blacksmith tools
He told me he had an anvil at home he would sell.
After meeting at his place and negotiating price.
I landed a 123 pound Trenton anvil, warren tool 3/4 fuller, and three pairs of tongs for $225

12 X 26, and with that drawer configuration looks like a repainted mechanics box to me.

Most machinist boxes are 9 X 20 or 9 X 26, and have very shallow drawers for the narrow ones.

Thanks Jake! I was shocked to find it in the afternoon too, and so were some other vendors.

Today I went to a huge Memorial Day flea market an hour away. There is also a town wide yard sale there and I stopped at probably 20 sales on the way there and back. I was losing hope until I bought this box for $5

There's an Easco rhft flex head but it's toast. A snap On pipe plug socket. Some odd looking import ratchet, misc. Craftsman and a lot of junk.

The ratchets with some Craftsman, Husky, and Indestro Breaker I picked up later.

Other finds:
An old little Lufkin folding ruler advertising a local Buffalo lumber company:

A metal box for $1, Free tool pouch, and free box of rivets from some nice yard sale people. Two cast iron pans for $1.50.

If it weren't for the dirt in the bed, I would have nailed the vertical boards to a horizontal base plate with some bracing to keep them vertical.

Good luck!
