How often does she have her sales? Any during the winter months?
EDIT - I did a Google Earth street view and after seeing the house remembered going to a yard/tool sale there a couple yours ago either in January or February. Very small sale with everything set up in the driveway and from what I remember reasonably priced.

Picked this up this morning for $10. It was so interesting I had to have it.
It is a type of multi-threader made by Zoerman in Chicago, and it came in what looks like a mahogany box under the crappy finish.
You can unhook one end and flip the end around to access another set of dies. They all seem to be fine thread. The die sizes range from 3/4-16 to 1/4-28.
I have never seen anything quite like it.

Jreb, I'm pretty sure that is a thread repair die so you can get it setup on the good threads and clean up bunged up threads working from the inside out. this is particularly good for when a couple of threads on the outer tip of a threaded part are dinged up.

Hey guys what do you think about this sale and it's prices? Looks like a lady running it so i am guessing they did ebay searches on everything and took the highest buy it now prices. It has a lot of really nice stuff tho.

Last thing/lot that I picked up from the engine shop auction was this toolbox plus contents for $20
Inside was a Williams h-51 3/4" drive ratchet, proto 5649bl 3/4" drive ratchet, snap on bw626a and bw726a sockets, proto 3/4" to 1" adapter, and a bunch of various wrenches.
P.s. just went and picked up some winnings from an online auction so I hope to get the results posted this weekend. Also, hopefully I will find some neat things tomorrow at the Iola car show and swap meet.

Yeah but they were asking $60 for one wrench it the first pic. The snap-on flare nut wrench set is a deal if it is $22 for the whole set. I see they were asking $20 for one snap-on gasket scraper. Looks like a ebay research sale to me! But they have a lot of really nice stuff.
Those price look insane to me. $5 for a CM screwdriver, $65 for a wrench, $10 for a corded drill, $140 for a nailer.
There's no way I'd stand in line for that sale. Maybe on Sunday if they have a 1/2 price sale. They may have some sleepers in all that but I'd sure not give it a high priority.
However if it starts Friday at 4 PM there's usually not much else going on at that time so it's not exactly displacing other higher rated sales.

I don't think it is a regular estate sale i think it is a private family run sale. The snap-on flare nut wrench set looks like a deal at $22. But the rest of the prices i see look to be ebay buy it now retail prices. I am guessing it is a family of people who don't know the tools value so they ebay searched every single tool and they took the second highest retail price on there. When i asked if they will do deal on a lot of tools they told me the prices are very reasonable already. There might be some gems they missed in all the high priced stuff. I don't think they will be many people going when it first opens at those prices.

Looks like you can hit all three. Fri 8 am, Fri 9 am and Fri 4 pm.
That one in Anoka looks like the most fun to dig thru.

BBolt, sounds like you got rooked... I hate to see a fellow GJ member overpay, so I'l cut your loses and buy one of the two for what you paid.
I suppose you want to buy the Snap On 4 ton LONG jack that I paid $100 for too huh. I did have to pull the front wheels off and grease them, they were frozen.

Bought this Atlas 3981 12x36 lathe today and all the tooling you see for 400. Lathe needs the auto feed repaired, damaged part 150 to fix, but no big problem. Seller also had this great buffer with a huge sanding belt. Problem is that it is 230v 3 phase.
I can buy those bluepoint reamers for 50....
Im buying a large amount of 1" drive sockets like the one pictured for $7 each.
The seller also had this other lathe that is 3 phase. He needs to move it soooooo if anyone wants a big lathe...cheap...pm me.

So i am probably going to the regular garage sale in the morning after work and i hope to get to sleep by 10am. Then wake up at 2:30 to go to the canon falls estate sale get home by 5pm and hopefully get a couple more hours of sleep until i have to go to work at 8:30. Then i have to go to the anoka sale Saturday morning and Sunday morning for half of day. I might need to take of Saturday night so i can get some sleep lol. All these sales had to be this weekend and not last weekend when i had the whole week off.

So the waconia sale i did pretty good. His prices were very high but he was a cool guy and was willing to deal. He had some nice matco and snap-on air tools for $40 each but i didn't need them. He wanted $10 each for his swivel snap on sockets and didn't really want to budge so i didn't push it. I got this all for $15 down from $43.

Chopper, pretty sure she has sales year round, remember winter aint so bad down here...
You wont steal anything but she has fair prices and puts together a lot of full sets of wrenches and sockets.

A neighbor down the road is having a garage sale so I stopped in for a quick look today. Came home with a 5 gallon outboard motor gas tank for $8 and a Joe Cocker double album for $2.
The gas tank is a great find but add that album and YOU ****.

Going back a month or so to the big Plvmb find:
I was cleaning the Plvmb socket box and contents up. and managed to find a 1940 catalog with the box listed and possible set combinations. The catalog stated that these were suggestions only and you could make up a customized set.
based on the largest "Cub" set. (The 1/2" drive was Standard, the 1/4" was Midget, and the 3/4" was Heavy Duty), of 21 pieces, this one was nearly complete.
Only the ratchet, the 21/32, socket, the flex adapter, 1/2 and 9/16 flex sockets,and the deep 1/2 and 9/16 8 pt seep sockets were missing!
I had the ratchet (period correct handle style) and both Flex, and I'm pretty certain I have the flex adapter, somewhere, so 3 sockets missing.
It came with extras including all the deeps, 3 extra sizes of flex, the Philips drive, the drive adapters, and the 18" and 12" extension; and the breaker is not period correct, (handle should match the ratchet)
The Box and contents:

Thats a great set, hopefully you will not have much of a problem finding the missing pieces. The breaker bar sure does stand out as not belonging with that set

Went to a sale about 1-1/2 hours away, it popped up just a couple days ago. What attracted me was the Blackhawk floor jacks and the fact there was a detached garage and buildings with the standard "50 year collection of mechanic" there was 50 years all right, but missing a lot of the basic tools, still a bunch of stuff to make anyone here happy.
I'm just throwing some photos as I had to get back to work.
The jacks were price at $100 each, even the older one that I sought, but plenty of wear, so I was forced to buy the newer model, great shape and tight.
The Napa stool is for our fl. Buddy Shorty
I really went with the intention of my target of the Jack and maybe a few things, kinda lost that battle.
The place was so full, I couldn't see the Forrest for the trees.
I've been looking for a solid wood top for a upcoming bench build, there sits one almost the exact size I need. I look at the stuff on it numerous times and never noticed the butcher block type top, with plugs along the front rail which indicates all thread through the top.
The surface is rough, has a couple bad stains but the bottom jus looks aged, so I'll flip it over if needed.
It's 2-1/2" thick, I think it's maple.
That made the drive worth the while.
I think I'm done for a while, need to sell off some items, like the SO hinge wrenches I picked up there, to recoup some cost.
Then I had to go back to work.

Well the canon falls sale was mostly a waste of time. The prices were buy it now ebay prices for 95% of the tools. They had a lot of nice stuff the best sale i have seen if only the prices were not insane. There was one guy buying a lot of the very high priced tools and he most of had at least 1k worth of tools. I guess he has never heard of ebay? I asked her if she will do any bundle deals or better prices the second day or the last few hours of the sale and she said no not even $1 off unless your spending at least 1k. As you can see by the pics i posted i didn't get much. I picked up a sk flex head that i couldn't even find sold online for $25. I probably over paid for it but i liked it. I also picked up blue point snap-ring pliers for $3 and two cornwell bit drivers for $1 each.

It will be a huge waste of time if you do. The ladies who were running the sale are selling there dad's tools who past away. They researched every single tool on ebay for prices and every price they used is the highest retail price.
Yea those prices ****. I never go to sales when I see in the pictures that every tool laid out nicely. From experience those sale **** 100% of the time and all pissed on the wasted drive or waiting in line. Nope no more.

There was a lot of people there when it opened at least 20. There were people leaving with a few items but the main snap-on stuff including all the ratchets were still there when i left. They wanted up to $95 for one snap-on wrench, over $20 a piece for one swivel socket,Over $20 for one extension, esc. I can go on and on but you get the picture. Next time i see a tool sale run by ladies i will think twice. They always do ebay research on all the tools.
