So I went out to yesterdays's block sale to see if anything new came out and while it was a lot thinner for sellers. I did find a few things.

First pic and most of the second were from one guy:

Clamps, a 10" wood screw and a 3" Armstrong C, box of PH 2 hex bits, a NOS 3/8 carbide router bit, a Magnesium fire starter, and 4 NOS Sawzall Blades,...

attachment.php
OS, (both planned for use on my mini Antique Craftsman table saw), and some Hilti branded Fender washers. $10 all

The Wrenches were from another sale ans were $3

attachment.php

Not shown was a fancy foot massager/heater with many setting and cycles, available for $5. that one is for my daughter who has had some foot issues and the heat and massage may help her start the day with less discomfort/pain.

Picked up my 12 x 36 Altlas lathe yesterday. When I got there I also was given all this tooling. I have no idea what to do with all of it but free is good. Oh it also came with this very sad Gerstner tool box. He threw in a very well used and heavily repaired 6" Columbian fixed base vise, but you all know how I feel about Columbians... best of all is that he has every piece of paper from when his dad bought it in 1961; manuals, bench setup instructions, laminated oiling instructions, bench setup etc...

Not a bad deal for $400...now if only I can figure out how to use it:lol_hitti

See above :p (still getting the hang of this...)

Here are mine alink: Kent-Moore on the left DJ-Tools (Taiwan) on the right. the bottom edge of the DJ is sharp where the K-M has a radius, and it makes a difference when you grip the thing...

If I do find a way to get this to 1/2" drive, I'll want another K-M...

Wow, that's a bigger difference than I was thinking. I can see how the KAL could offer a more uncomfortable grip over the PalmGrip. I didn't even realize that KAL or other labels had offered one of these. I've seen some plastic looking ones offered though. Mine are both PalmGrip branded (Kipton Industries) with two patent numbers.#2,5(?)20,001 and #2,672,066. I keep one in my main box and the other in my Go-box.

I couldn't tell from your pics if your vise was a quick release (rapid action) woodworking vise. The Milwaukee/Morgan but will only work on quick release models.

SilverDeck:

Did contact and got the below response from Milwaukee, which will post below.

Milwaukee Response:

We don't have any knowledge if our parts would fit your vise, your the first person to ask that question.

From your pictures, I am going to say no, because for our part #23 nut to work it requires a screw missing some threads like our part #21.

From your pictures it appears your screw is fully threaded. Part #25 might fit, but what is under that cap is the important part.

Mike's response back to Milwaukee:

Your right, the lead screw on my WW W C. Toles #45 vise doesn't have the missing threads.

I'll try and find someone who might have pictures of whats under the cap for a WW W C Toles #45, which is fully threaded. Once we know that, maybe can locate a replacement part and still come back to Milwaukee to order a cap.

Thanks again for your help and quick response.

Bought a few things at the flea market this morning:

SK Wayne 40970 1/4" drive ratchet - $6
Proto 5/16" combination wrench - $.50
Small Klein flat nose pliers - $3
Stanley 744 2-1/4" clamp-on vise - $5

Really like the old Stanley vise but it needs a good cleaning. Works through the full range but is very tight.

Been a while since I've shown myself around these here parts - the wifey and I had spent the last several months upgrading to a new house, so most of my time has been spent moving stuff from the old house, and storage, to the new one. You never know how much **** you own until you have to move...

Here's the little bit I got at the flea market this weekend:

S-K Phillips head driver
couple old wrenches, a no-name marked "L297", and I believe a Hinsdale spanner wrench
Canco "Keglined" can and bottle opener
Shaler C-clamp made for bicycle tube repair
bottle opener marked "Lone Star Cafe"
four sockets - 1 deep well Craftsman, 2 OLD long-C Craftsman, and an old Snap On
1 universal joint, Snap On from the early days
what I think is a pre-WWII practice grenade, missing the pin but excellent original condition, the hole is pre-cast in the side of the cast iron hull

All for $12.

Picked this old Craftsman buffer/sander kit. Just thought it was too cool with original box and in the great condition to pass it up for $8.

Yeah, that IS too cool to pass up, especially with the printed cardboard box, and that nice old decal.
I picked up a small steel tray containing a mixed, incomplete set of stamps. All numbers 0-1 in ½", but missing most of the letters. Also some 17/32",⅜", 5/16, and ¼", along with a Walden 3150 1/4dr ratchet, a Mustang socket, an SK socket, an unfinished Bonney CV tappet wrench (posted on the DOE thread), and a John Adams #5 leather punch, all for...$10.
(I wrote the letters with sharpie on the stamps that weren't stamped.)

I chose right on which sale to hit first Saturday morning, no one else there for a good 20 to 30 minutes. Got lucky considering the second sale I hit the lady said she just sold all the hand tools to one gentleman. You win some you lose some, you just never know.

Folks just wanted stuff gone........Snap On breaker, 1/4" & 3/8" fine tooth ratchets, 3/8" long non-fine tooth ratchet that could use a new grip.
Mac extension and wrench

Snap On deep metric impacts and SAE stds. They were quite rusty but cleaned up well with the Evaporust but had an effect on the finish though but they were never going to be/meant to be pretty anyway. Also Snap On female torx socket set.

Today was a decent day,
Got a Coleman heater, Coleman model 501 stove( was a recall by Coleman), stack of disston and superior hand saws, magic yeast box with NRA on the side, snap on hammer handle, and a Yankee 301A. Paid $70 for it all.

Those are nice Disston D-20somethings! Hard to distinguish them all bunched up like that, but really nice saws. I've picked up one D-20 and three D23s, but the rest are hard to come by. The D-21s & 22s (looks to me like you might have a D-22, 3rd from front, with the missing upper horn) were only made from 1911-1922, and the D-20 was discontinued around 1930. Simonds and Atkins made similar-looking saws, and they're good too. Congrats!

Killer stuff from you guys as usual...Very little time and lots of crappy local sales haven't yielded squat. Starting to develop a twitch..

Did grab this at the local flea market today. Heck, don't even know if it was a deal or not. But I needed/wanted a set. Got a couple of the fold-up sets, but find them awkward to use. Seem to be unused. SAE. 4 bucks. :dunno:

I'd have to dig into them some more, I know one is a D-12 and they all look in good condition to restore. I got a couple I use and they cut very well!

Picked this up yesterday.

Its a 1946 AC Spark Plugs hand held Tachometer, with instructions and original box. Its like brand new. The chrome and internal rotating scale are perfect. Has a nice AC ring logo stamped on the chrome top. I like the graphics on the box AC Spark Plugs too.

Only paid $6.50 for it so its worth it.

Also picked up an old plain 18" metal cut-out of a farm tractor. Going to hang it up over my wife's vintage gardening signs.

Oh yeah and a NOS Jethro Tull Aqualung CD for a buck.

That looks like a rebranded Bondhus set in which case they should be top notch and you got a good deal.

Man that brings back memories. My dad had one of those and I used the heck out of it with a drill motor ending and polishing on my first car.

Very cool find in such good shape.

That does not look right. The auction company may be just showing his max bid rather than what he paid. I've never seen an online auction allow someone to overbid themselves. Usually they just accept higher max bids.

Saturdays garage sales were a big pile of nothing interesting, so I hit the swaps with high hopes, and wasn't disappointed:

Two vintage Buck Bros. chisels, a wood Starrett box, Bonney 1/4 rat, Armstrong extension, Proto mallet (needs new handle, but I have a couble Proto handles stashed for this) sanding blocks (which I needed), a Walden 1/2 male/male extension and small MAC angle wrench. About $15 for all. I also bought a box of oldish telephoney stuff for a ten spot:

Flea market today, only one vendor had any tools. I grabbed a tote, and stated filling it. I also grabbed a 4' Stanley level.

2 SK extensions, 2 SK wrenches, one SK driver (modified). Bluebird snips, Bonney SOE, Barcalo DOE, Craftsman DBE, unknown DOE & DBE. Vaco nut drivers and an excelite.
