And I cannot place these, though I know I have seen them before...

The two items on the left are called stair gauges, a pair of stops that can be fastened to the legs of a steel square (AKA framing square). These stops are used when making the cuts for building a stair.

The two items with cutting edges are cutters for a vintage router. If you're interested in selling them, send me a PM.

I seldom pass up on casters...these are perfect for the car body dolly (to set my 28 Ford on while I finish my chassis weld-up)

Sales around here have pretty much sucked for the past few weeks. Last week hit 4 or 5 sales, only thing I found was the almost new axe and cool cast iron mini spokeshave, bundled them for $10. Hit 4 this AM, only thing I got was the 5" Parker vise for $75., killed me to pay that much, but it's in really nice shape. Seller said his grandfather bought it new.

Got a great garage related item this morning at a yard sale. Paid $5 for a cord reel, 10" US cast iron pan and a #7 griswold pan. Cord reel is a commercial reel generally used on gantry cranes, 50 feet long, #12 wire. Insul-8 brand, sells for $988 new. Tested it out, works perfect, cord is in excellent condition, no checks, cuts, or problems. Will love to have it in the garage!

I got this at an Estate Sale today. The Model is a Snap-On KRA-420. I got it for twenty dollars. It is missing a drawer and three slats. How hard would it be to find the missing parts? Thanks in advance.

Not to top someone else, but these cutters are for a router "plane". Used to clean up the bottoms of a "groove or dado".

Way off my home turf today: Wentzville MO! A slow start in unfamiliar territory caused me to cover only about a quarter of the vendors before heading out.
Duro sockets (1/2" square and hex drive), a 660 LT grip (but not the el), a waterpump wrench in a green box, presumably Sears retail $7.
Two early 1/2dr Snap-on sockets, a dozen or so later Bonney 1/4dr and 3/8dr sockets, Stanley ratcheting screwdriver, 1/4" Indestro combo wrench, Indestro low offset 9/16x1/2 DBE $11.
Bonney H18, H16, and Autokit combo wrench $3.75.
And an immaculate wooden 1938-copyright color label Trexler Farms (Allentown, PA) "Buffalo Brand" apple crate with the real estate section of the St. Louis paper from Sunday, September 11, 1955, lining the bottom $15. The crate will be repatriated when I return home midweek.
I'll upgrade the pics then, too.

So here's the vises I snagged Saturday. $300 for all 7 and a 1/2 vises LOL.

First pic: Early Wilton C1 and 2 Wilton Universal Turret vises

Second pic: NOS in the box Starrett Athol 923 1/2, Erie Tool Works 00C 2 1/2" combination vise and half of a 1950ish Craftsman for parts

Third Pic: Another Wilton C1 dated 8-88 and a Columbian Gyro-Vise WITH the rarely seen pipe jaw inserts.

More info in the vise thread

Few finds at the flea market today. This is my first tool buys in a few weeks. Fist full of DBE wrenches. Penens Corp ratchet. Craftsman hammer. Squres, and a KD filter wrench. Sockets are Williams, SK, Bonney, Armstrong, and New Britain. Unmarked 1/4 ratchet and hinge handle. Ray 710 T handle.

You guys are finding some great stuff! I made it to the 'longest yard sale' this weekend. Probably would have kept driving, but I ran out of cash.
Here's some of the spoils. I posted the Powr Kraft stack over in the vintage toolbox thread.
Does anyone know what all would have been included in the SK-Lectrolite 1/2" drive set?

I got all of this from an older lady in my neighborhood that was selling off her father's old tools. He had a lot of USA Craftsman stuff but I left most of that for someone else. I got all of this for $65. The light is a great shop light and folds up so you can wheel it around in its little cage. The locking pliers are made by Boney, the large snips are made by Crescent (USA), and the old pipe wrench is made by Trimont Mfg. I'll have to look up Trimont as I have never heard of them.

Yep, didnt think anyone would ID them. The little 4' panels and a set of those casters make a great mobile work bench.

Brian

Huh, I did not recognize the casters but I have a table my dad made out of scaffolding. He cut it down the ends so he could sit at it. He used it for a drafting table for signs. I'm using it for storing in "progress" projects at the moment.

I know that this forum is primarily dedicated to mechanic type tools, but some of you might be interested in seeing my latest acquisition. A kind gentleman posted this as BIN on eBay. not knowing that it is a RARE BIRD. I saw that it had a small piece broken off one of the legs, but I couldn't hit the purchase button fast enough. I now have it in hand and will be asking one of our esteemed members for assistance in repairing the broken foot.

Here's my meager haul from the past weekend.

Only ended up finding stuff at one sale, run by a regular.

Gray 7/16 combo
Plumb USA 13/16 7/8 DBE
Barcalo Buffalo 3/4 5/8 DBE
Barcalo Buffalo 11/16 5/8 and 25/32 3/4 (Oops, I think I forgot to grab another DBE like this, oh well)
GMC Canada 15/16 1-1/16 DBE

The GMC wrench intrigued me, never seen anything branded GMC before. I'm guessing it was made for them by a Canada manufacturer.

Very nice BF, I used a Craftsman for a long time, but stupidly got rid of it. I am now on the lookout for a Millers Falls (fallen in love with the old MF stuff)

Picked these up at an auction for 30 bucks. I've never seen the Stanley telescoping flex ratchet before. Seems well made.

Mark, Dave: I think you both earned a You **** for those buys! Well done!

Edit: oh hey--one thousand posts!! Well, it's fitting that it was on this thread. This is where I spend most of my Garage Journal time, and where I've learned the most about tools. Big thanks to all of the regular contributors and solitary posters who keep this thread so populated! Here's to the next thousand! [emoji481]

This thread seems dead - no postings at all for yesterday!

Let's be as optimistic as the seller on C/L who posted this add:

Ryobi 18v cordless drill - $15

It's well used and coated with paint but it still works. No battery or charger.
Text or email works, no calls please.

It's always good to follow Blue Frog!!!

Out to yard sales today, but only a few listed.

Fellow yard sale buddy helped me out, as he picked up and then sold to me a Simplex 33S by The Desmond Stephan Mfg Co of Urbana Ohio. 3-3/4" jaws, max opening of 5" and total weight at 30 lbs. Pics 1 & 2

Picked up an old metal clamp and when cleaning it up, came across a stamped name of E. M. Hulse Co. Pic 3. Did Google Search and found that E M Hulse Co.was a furniture manufacturing company founded by Edwin M Hulse in Columbus Ohio that operated from 1897 to 1947. First located at 13 Fulton W and then moved to 582 W Goodale after 1928. Pic 4 shows the actual clamp along with following:

A. Small little anvil and hammer. No markings.
B. Zip ties
C. Rubber Mallet
D. Craftsman Drill bits

Well now, there was a good looking estate sale I was going to check out today. Until.....I decided to Google the address to find the street.

What do you think popped up?

Murder suicide at that exact address just a few months ago. No thanks I think I'll pass on this one.

Been to a few homes before that gave off bad vibes.

A guy has to ask... what's the story with the Gorilla, and what the heck do you plan on doing with it haha. Nice Gator too.

Doesn't look too promising here for the weekend. Yearly swap meet is on nearby but the weather is ****** so hopefully it doesn't scare everyone away. I can't remember if it starts tonight or just tomorrow. Since I have some free time I'm going to head over there now to see...
