And I have a pick that opens most tubular locks in a couple of seconds at most.

So do I, a big pair of bolt cutters. That's not the point. Ordinary cuff keys are very common. In the context of where and when security cuffs would be used, nobody would have the means at hand to release them other than the person who holds the correct key. Part of the security is that no two sets of cuffs are keyed alike, unlike ordinary ones where one key opens all.

Looks like a JET. Thats a great deal. Ditto on the You ****!

$50 ? !! You ****. I want one but haven't found one yet.

Thanks guys! It is a JET HVBS-461
Since I am a woodworker, this was one of those machines that I was watching for, but didn't need all that badly, so I was waiting for a killer deal before I picked one up. Now I just need to get a welder, an anvil, and a metal lathe and I will be unstoppable!

A quick stop into the tail end of an estate today after work and I grabbed up a few goodies.

Craftsman crown logo socket wrench set
Craftsman nut driver set with a SK 1/4" ratchet and a set of deep 1/4" drive sockets
Atha cross peen hammer... Atha went out of bizz before 1910 if I remember right.

I paid 18.00 for the lot. I didn't get to hit any sales last weAk because I was having one of my own . Had to clear out some of the clutter from two estates I bought. One more sale this Saturday and the final one the following Saturday should leave me enough room to buy allll winter!!!

Then earlier in the weAk I picked this 1927 Singer up off cl for 50 bucks. One of the old hens I chase had been wanting one for quilting . They have been selling pretty steady around 150-200 in my area and 300 on ebay. If she doesn't like it I can always flip it... for more TOOL money!!!

Yep Specialty jaws. I was thinking forming jaws until I saw them closed. They might be for fixturing something and the something needed that gap/Space.

Those are for making lap joints usually in preparation for welding to possibly gluing panels during autobody repair work..

Picked these up for $350. The gray is Equipto. Not sure what brand the beige was is, but I couldn't pass them up.

Most of those old ones need the presser foot shaft replaced so that more modern feet can be used. Had to do it on my grandmother's.

I really know nothing about these at all. I'll let the lady friend decide what she needs. I did look into a parts source from singer and they still make some replacement parts!

Some recent finds.

Pic 1 is stuff I forgot to add from earlier sales.

The wooden shell was used for practicing loading a navy ship big gun! $20

On the left is some old vintage cast iron press, no name or markings found so far. $3

The two red wrench rolls are vintage military items, $5 at a pawn shop.

The wood plane is a Dunlap. Think I paid $10 for this one.

Pic 2 the articulated shoplight works and has already been rewired with newer cord, $15 at a flea market on the border of Minnesota.

Pic 3, 4, 5, more stuff I picked up for "free" from a widow I have been helping sell her late husbands tools.

This morning's Early Bird haul...

20161028_083347_resized_zpsbvf5makq.jpg

Heavy duck WWII "TRANSPORT BAG" (also called Bailey bags), unknown box (no markings, possibly 50 cal ammo can), OD vinylized pouch (PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVERNMENT / O.C.D.) with belt loops on the back (I am guessing 1950's, 60's or even later), a 3-1/2 inch Columbia-made CRAFTSMAN vise, model 506-51800, 8-inch Danielson-made PROTO slip joints with a 1951 date code, and a wartime Plomb model 5480 1/2-drive speed brace.

Well...... I hit the Starrett mother load today... I'm not exactly sure what all I have here. I will post more close up pictures later and maybe make my own thread to get some advice.
All of this got posted for sale, guy didn't know the value. I paid $180 for everything.
I'm not Forsure myself on how much value I have here, all I knew at the time was that It was worth $180 Forsure.....

Basically everything is Starrett and there is still more to go through in back of my truck. Dial indicators, micrometers, magnetic bases, machinist levels, etc etc.

That Starrett load is either the biggest you **** I've ever seen or it's waiting for the cops to show up and confiscate it.

Mother of God, what I would have done for a deal like that when I started my tool and die apprenticeship.

Oh boy, that Starrett suckage...

I stopped by a small estate sale today, and picked up the following handful of Snap On (and Plomb adaptor) for $13:

The crowsfoot is 2 and 7/16! Couldn't pass that up!

Starrett mother load part 2:

Went through the rest of the boxes and this is what I got, including the pictures above, all for the $180 price still.
9e506849cb904d53880acb89151a27c5.jpg

Another Japan micrometer and a mitutoyo depth gauge
0c7c21133b2a15f778ddd7f2c604b6da.jpg
Giant drill bits and taps, all USA and new.
5e6fdc06cdf001716319ddd9b02db801.jpg

Various taps. Can someone explain to me why they come in packages of multiple of the same size? Do they wear out?
888848a8f9873dca9b21a4b5a1724671.jpg
All the torch items are victor, brass hammers, proto long feeler gauges, Starrett magnetic indicator holder
dfaa6ee45cf9e87438b52ebf2d78c976.jpg

Williams, Blackhawk, Armstrong wrenches, dewalt grinder, proto and Armstrong ratchets, and stick welder lead.
e06f504ea2cb5d6f447dbd2af706d281.jpg

More files than I know what to do with. I honestly don't know what to do with all of it, I will probably sell a good majority and keep what I think I may use in the next 30 years....

I hope y'all enjoyed this loot run. I'm not a machinist by any means so any advice is welcome. I may make a thread later of up close pictures of all the Starrett tools.

The taps are in sets. If you look closely you will see they are not the same. They all have the same thread but are different tapers for starting through bottoming taps.

BTW you **** even more.
