I was in the market for a hose reel for my garage to help make things a little easier on me when I use air. I looked at the prices on new stuff and was discouraged on prices. Looked at the HF ones and read about some issues. Decided to check CL ans found 2 for a real good steal me now price. I only needed one but got them both for less than a HF one. The small one is a Cox but have no idea who makes the larger 19" one. Anyone know who makes it? I did find a date stamp on the arm and mount that says 10/8/91 and 3/25/91 date. I don't think I will use the large one too big for my purposes, but after cleaning up the Cox one it's in perfect shape!

A saving grace for the weekend: I went to look at a CL listing for three lanterns with only an intent to buy one of them.

I wound up buying tow ($10 each) or I should say I bought an Amber globe for 10 and got the lantern free, (220J) and I bought 2 new and one used Generators, Plus some NOS Silk lite mantles (no longer made the moved to new materials and they are not as bright...) and got the 220E for free.

I also picked up a Griswold No 8 waffle iron and stand in excellent condition (the seasoning is perfect) Pat in Dec. 1908! Guy said it was in use by his grandmother in the 20's! $30!

You find the coolest gear Outlaw. Nice score on the waffle iron with the base. There happened to be a $10 green Coleman at the sale I stopped at.

G1K that box came out real nice. Those caught my eye on CL a few times, at first two boxes and then a third was added to the lot. I think you increased the value with that resto.

Thanks! I'm actually not a big fan of the larger 2 mantle lanterns, but the Amber globes are hard to find and worth more than what I paid. Same with the cost of the generators & pump rebuild/replace kit the Silk lites were a bonus.

I recently rebuilt a 1937 mod 242B Single mantle (80 years old in November!) and I like it because its small, even smaller than the common red 200 series single mantle lanterns. It will become primary camp lantern as soon as I find/make a case for it...

The Griswold was an almost accidental find. it was shown in the pics but not listed...

Some pictures.

The $5 cantilever box with perhaps the most hideous drawer liners ever. Made sure to take extra pictures . Came with some cheap deep wells and a complete imperial flaring tool (half out of view).

Also the flea finds- a few Cheap sockets with some Craftsman and Thorsen adapters, Plomb well loved punch and pliers all for $3.

Technically the truck is a garage sale item, 2001 with a couple small scratches to fix and only 36000 miles. Weekly estate warehouse auction.

Nice looking truck, and kind of funny since I bought a '03 Sierra just before Christmas and am currently looking for a set of those exact wheels you have on there so I can throw some new rubber on it this summer.

I was not aware a Tri Wing Flex even existed, now I'm on a search, even though I don't really care for the standard Tri Wing that much.

3bay, that breaker looks to have an early Blackhawk flavor, but the plastic kind of kills that thought.

It kind of does with that handle design.

well not just a Stanley... Stanley Bed ROCK!... massive suckage!

Thanks! Finally, some collectible planes that weren't priced outrageously.

SPS is still in business going strong

That's cool to know. I see they are a specialty hardware mfr these days.

They aren't so common compared to the rest of the tri lineup. Had to add it to the collection.

I went to look at an industrial fabrication shop auction preview earlier and almost forgot to place bids on the internet. Found a few goodies and just placed bids, wish me luck!

All the vises were gone though, saw the holes and outlines on the tables where they were mounted. Just one little import vise left.

Thanks. These new 18" wheels and tires are easy to find on Craigslist. Young guys are taking them off all the time. Mine were $700, with no miles. Much better than lil 16s that came on it. 04cc5844e5278a9fe5a2b6896ddaf72c.jpg

Great trucks, I have a Sierra with 305k , so I figure this one has a lot of life left in it, now at 42K.

I had to laugh when I saw the picture of the bore cleaner. In 1983... [ ] ... Most of the stuff was WWII or Korea era issue There was 50 cases of the same bore cleaner.
It's still full and solvent, John! I wouldn't use it in any of my rifles, but still, pretty amazing it hadn't gunked up. Off to a friend whose last name is Houghton.

...and Herbrand 3/4".
Please check for four-digit AISI numbers (e.g., 8670, 1340, etc) forged or stamped into that H-11.

Picked up a couple of lots today at the sale previously described by Nine...[ ] ...
Hey Merc, what is the brand on what looks like a one-piece flaring tool with the handle and what looks like a fixed size opening? Also, is the extra heavy duty single box end (with the yellow paint on it) that takes a handle extension on the other end a Blue Point? Any signs of the handle in that lot?

Here's my haul from yesterday's flea excursion.
How many bent spring steel pins on that carbon scraper, UNAIU? ;)

The $5 cantilever box with perhaps the most hideous drawer liners ever.
In case that box has no label and you're wondering who made it, 3bay, it looks like a Simonsen.

Nice. Wish the market was the same around here, only set I've seen so far ws a new take off from the dealer for 2,000$, granted that's CDN $ but I don't want to drop that kind of coin on it only to have to re-sell the tires to pu the BF KO2's I want on them .

IMG_1039.jpg
IMG_1040.jpg
I also went with OEM tire / wheel upgrade for 02' GMC. Rides a lot better. Soon to crack 80,000

While the one's ktmracer have are my first choice, the one's you have are #2 on my list. I guess it'll end up being whichever I can find at a decent price. I figure I'll see some more posted this spring when the people who bought trucks this winter upsize their tires (hopefully).

Sorry, back on topic.

Out of a 50 cent bin. England, Superslim B.
Do numbers represent size and thickness ?
1/4W5/16BSF & 5/16W1/4BSF

They are British Standard wrenches, read more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Standard_Whitworth

W= Whitworth
BSF= British Standard Fine

So, basically the size of the bolt, rather than the head of the bolt.

Too bad you can't get Fresno prices up there. These are two adds on craigslist today. The dealer might ship to you? As they're taking off OEM Wheels all the time.

Ever been to a garage sale for your future home?

If everything goes well I'll be owning a new home next Friday but the lady is having a tool sale out of the garage this weekend. Figured I'd go look and see what she selling and if anything worthy. I wanted to make an offer on all of the content but I suspected she would wnat premium price for it all.

Topop,
I think that unknown tool of yours may have been a hay or haying knife. But I would not swear to that -- just a guess.
Cheers,

I found out it's a froe. For splitting cedar shakes and other wood . Not many froe's have the socket style handle and with the curve of the blade I wasn't sure it wasn't a weapon...Thanks.
