Deadly slow day today... until the last stop (which had a heck of a "lead in" in the add about "same house for >30 years and having been married for >60!
I got there as they opened it up, (15 early...) Everyone was milling around the driveway and I'd bought a crystal vase and 2 jars of old marbles for a buck and a half. Then I asked if tools were going to be pulled out, after a little hemming and hawing, I was given over to the man of the house, (eighties?) and he took me to has back shed. very cluttered, clearly he'd worked at this and that over the years.
Then I saw the red 6 drawer tool box, and it's a Proto. I asked if it was for sale and we dug it out a bit and opened and closed drawers. "Sure, I'll sell it and all the tools in it for $25. I just want it gone. I'd kept seeing "SK" as we looked and I immediately agreed I found another SK socket box on the bench and "Oh, that goes with your box!" Another one on the floor and that was also included as well and an SK driver on the wall...
So his daughter shows up (about my age) and asks her dad if she can send others back here? and he says "Sure! I just sold this gentleman the red tool box, it's all paid for!" (It was not...) I corrected him and paid her before things could change, and she thanks me for being honest while he says "Dang! I was sure you paid me..."
So this is what $25 got me today:
The box as I saw it (the top was open...)
As found pics:
Most of the SK stuff - Wrenches - the yellow metric set was complete the SAE missing a 1/2 and 9/16
The sockets and Pliers: the complete 3/8 drive is metric, the rest is mostly SAE.
