Just trying to help out the newbies, but thanks for putting me in my place!

Don't let these people get to you. Thanks for addressing his question, even though a few minutes of reading would have gotten him the same answer.

Just found (3) 25# green deckmates. Not sure how some are still floating around but I'm not complaining. I'm sure I looked comical waddling my way to sco with that much weight in my hands:lol::lol:.

What is the experience in getting one store to match another store's clearance price?

They won’t even price match the Home Depot website with in-store stuff. Even if it’s a $4 difference. This is way I am leaning to just shop at Lowe’s now.

That's a bad business practice, period.

I can understand not matching clearance from store to store but any and all online prices should be honored in store

Thank you for sharing this deal! I called my connection at HD She said her store didn’t have the tops for $50 but she send me this. On my way to pick one one up. d9ccbbb4f4a670f8b3c918856916f19a.jpg
I was in a store today and a customer was looking for this. They have been gone a long time around here. I asked a manager to match lowes romex price of $5 and he said he could not do that.

And there is no military discount online. I asked i could just buy something they don't stock online and when I pick it up refund/rebuy w/ my discount and they said they are separate and if I did that it would have to get returned to the online store NOT their store. Very stupid.

Re: 2018 Home Depot Clearance Thead

If you look it up online at the store(s) near you, and it shows an actual quantity and full price, then it's not on clearance.

If it shows 0 available then they are all sold out.

If it shows "Not in your store" or something like that, then it *might* be on clearance if you knew it had them in stock before. The only way to know an item is on clearance if it's not on the website as in-stock is to check in store.

Thank you for the help. I was after the red Weber grill a few weeks back, showed 'not in your store' but another member here searched it at another local store and noted that my store actually had 3 on clearance. I might have to run over there to see if they have a stand.

I don't understand not matching their own website. What's next, sorry can't accept return because not purchased at same store?

Yeah, doesn't make any sense. I can always get northern tool to match their website.

HD is trying to play that game that cable/satellite providers play. Where internet, phone, and mail offers are all separate and not interchangeable.

Looks like it used to be possible to order an online-only product from Home Depot with the military discount by calling customer service and having them place the order for you, but they stopped doing that in the last year or so (after 'too many' people found out about that option, I guess).

And as for whether they can adjust it in-store when you pick it up, "If you order online and the store sells the same item (i.e. you ordered online because the store was out of stock), they can make an adjustment for the military discount. If you order online when the item is not sold in the store, they cannot adjust for the discount because the item is not in their system."

Sadly my store has a global policy w/ online orders. If i return it I cannot buy it back even if the sell it. If they sold It I'd buy it from them and just get my discount. They just don't stock much of what I need so I buy it online. Well I did, until recently.

Thanks for the hook blade deal. I saw those yesterday and didn't get a chance to post it on here for others. My store also had the 100 packs of single edge razor blades for just over $2 as well SKU # 1000 040 987

I think that is the full SKU. It's an extension pole, for putting a screw-on (edit: or not) tool on the end of it. ~$20 original price. Described as being for pool cleaning tools - do those use the same threading as non-pool stuff like paint rollers, scrapers, etc? (Edit: Nope! they don't. Thanks, zorrox.)

Pool guy here, most pool poles just have two holes drilled into the end for these type of clips that are standard in most brushes, nets, and vacuums.

Also 8 ft extended is pretty short for cleaning a pool. I wouldn't bother with less than a 16 ft. And since we're on a tool forum, the aluminum on those are real thin. A homeowner could get away with it, but it will bend if extended and put under stress with a brush. Also the aforementioned clip holes will eventually tear.

Good to know, thanks. So it's for pool use only, and not very good at that.

Yep, they (HD) lost over $1k in revenue from me this week because of this. I needed a bunch of milwaukee tools they don't stock in the store. Just got it at acmetools instead. I am going to go through their bid room on my next big purchase to see what they can do for me. It'll be a good 9K in materials and they seemed to think they could do about 30% better than retail, we shall see.

Re: 2018 Home Depot Clearance Thead

Hello everyone again...New HD hunter here. I have a question was hoping someone might either PM me the answer or post it here.

I found 2 old husky workbench with solid wood top in NJ. They are way at the top in the back of store...they still have the "Black Friday 11/24 Ad event" which means they are def very very cheap.

My problem is this...is there a way I can cut out the printed bar code or etc on box and use that to pay before I get them to help take it down?

My reason is I'm worried once I get someone to pull them down and they see how cheap they are, either going to say sorry they are NOT for sale or will make up some random price.

Meaning...what if they check the box and DONT tell me that it reads 130.03 but instead tells me its selling for higher price. Is there anyway to find out the TRUE price.

Only number I can see on box reads 763-089

Normally if it was a small enough item, I would risk getting that ladder and just pulling it down, going to checkout and trying to pay....BUT as explained its huge box. Only thing I could think of would be cutting the barcode or etc out and trying to scan that, if it works and I'm able to pay for it, then they cant try and play any tricks. I just dont know 1. if this would work and number 2. what to look for to even try and cut out.

Any helpful tips would be extremely helpful. Anything I can do to improve my success in getting at least one of these boxes would be great. Been looking for this to put into my garage.

Re: 2018 Home Depot Clearance Thead

They can look at SKU and check the price on their phone. They cannot arbitrarily make up a price if it has a SKU. THis is for inventory control purposes. If they sell you an item and don't ring it up using SKU the inventory is not removed from their system. Unless it's a penny I don't think they'll balk at selling it. I've purchased $100 compressors, and others have purchased $50 52" toolboxes. I'd say have them pull it or find the sku and run it. OR you can just go into the PCA and query based on tool cabinet, find it and it should show you the current price. Filter by clearance to expedite.

First responders, veterans, active and reservists looking for $20 off $200 let me know and I'll get you a coupon. Anyone w/ a very low post count will not receive a response.

Not to bust your bubble, but HD does over $100 billion/yr worth of revenue. You will need to convince about 1 milion of your closest buddies to do the same in order to make a statistically significant reduction in their revenue.

I have never had good luck thru the "bid room". On average they saved me 10% . I am a disabled vet and They will not combine military.

I find better success shopping lowes. at least for now you can double dip on the bulk pricing and military if that is an option for you.

True price is $298. Why do you assume they are "def very very cheap"?!
