Does anyone read post 1740?

Yeah, I think it's time for some major changes around here.

I don't know that I want to cater to couponers anymore. I'm going to be asking for a lot of guidance from those that provide value around here pretty soon. I have to figure something out.

Its been on clearance. Did the prices drop ? Im stopping in tomorrow anyways so I'll check.

Ya, I was told by an employee in the paint dept that they are no longer carrying Minwax, Purdy and a few other paint related brands. I stocked up on the stain I need for the trim in my house while it was cheap and still available.

I read somewhere here that the ones who posted lot of good deals in the past were all banned and others just left. That those posters were valuable but too many non posters were complaining. And that nowadays not many good deals are posted. Atleast I read on that opinion poll Yu posted.

I was told on Saturday by paint department employee at the Bartlett, IL Store that Minwax, Purdy and Thompson Water Sealer got bought out by Sherwin-Williams. Home Depot and Sherwin-Williams do not play well together, that is why those brands are being replaced by others.

That could be the case. I really don't know... but this isn't the place to discuss it. Instead, I've started a thread looking for direction and help:

More so HD doesn't play well with Lowe's. I don't think HD would have a problem if SW didn't start selling through Lowes.

That section of shelf has such an odd and random mixture of stuff and the pricing is totally inconsistent:

Found this for a penny today. Sku on the receipt is 092644580918IMG_0541.jpg

What’s your point? I haven’t seen this posted before, but maybe I missed it.

What exactly is the problem caused by Bzrollin? He found an item that was on super clearance and posted it for others to hopefully find as well...

I picked up 2 with the 5.0 batteries for $149.... mixed in with the regular tool-only's.

Bought one and liked it, so I got another to keep in the shed to use in the back yard.

Yep. I found 2 2130-20 with the free 5.0 in the box for 149. I grabbed one and left one.

Appears that the 2130-20 is now a kit including a 5.0 and charger for $149.
Bought one and returned the battery/charger for a ~$60 credit. Bought a second one from a different store and on the fence about keeping the battery/charger. Already have 3-XC, 2-9.0, 2-fast chargers and 1 regular(old) charger.

Most associates are not aware that the $149 clearance price is for a kit INCLUDING the battery/charger.

My question, if your HD does not have the proper 5.0/charger how will they price/sell said kit?

not really. That was just a bonus pack from a while back, and that is the picture HD has in their PCA system. If it was supposed to include the battery/charger it would then be a kit and the model would be 2130-21. I'd say you got a great deal though.

Hmmm, so maybe I should keep that 5.0 kit then.:headscrat

Edit: The written description in the PCA states battery and charger included, not just the picture.

what is the model in the picture? 2130-20 or 2130-21. Not that all HD employees are aware of this, so it is probable one could get the battery, but based on Milwaukee model #'s, it is a bare tool. When it first came out, all the units had a "free battery" and I have a feeling someone at HD didn't do the PCA info correctly. Strange how that would say something different than the website.

Here is pic of PCA screen.
Again, written description states battery and charger included. I was surprised as well.

Regardless of what the PCA says if the package isn’t a special buy promo pack, you aren’t getting a free battery and charger.

Went through this exact problem. The ones with the battery are have a p at the end of the model number. Home Depot would not give me the free 5.0 kit because there wasn’t a promo in the system for it. Mine was at $125.

Don't know what to say, 6 different store associates agreed, battery included. YMMV. :headscrat

It was the -20, when doing a search for m18 light both the -20&21 showed on the screen however the -21 showed $199 and zero stock in the area.

Co-worker says I should never go back. I'll be in their casino style facial recognition software program now!:willy_nil

They had to manually do it since it says the ad wasn't in the register. If it was supposed to be that way it wouldn't have had that box around it.

They marked them down (same amount) using two different methods. One "not in ad" the other "customer satisfaction." Occasionally you get lucky, or lucky twice. I'd recommend picking me up a Powerball ticket.

Ah yes, missed the 2nd one. Guess it didn't work twice at the same store though.

First store was not my local store and where I found the pricing in pca.
On my way home I tried returning the battery from the "kit" at my local store. Never thought about returning a portion of a kit until reading about it here.

Took it home, wife liked and agreed would be nice to have a second.
Next day stopped by local store, checked PCA and it showed the same. Inquired and was able to buy the second "kit" which included the 5.0 battery I returned the day before since they didn't stock that battery/charger kit.

I googled the SKU and found people buying that same sku(2130-20P) back in 5/17 for $125, so not like it was THAT great of a buy.

Can't easily cross shop HDs for me either, closest ones are 35 minutes away and a addition 30 minutes to the next. One lowes at 15 min, then 35 and no Menards within 3 hrs. If I'm in a different area I'll poke around for a bit and move on.

So I do appreciate those that post deals, sometimes it helps.

2manytools,
Was spoiled in the past like you, used to live 10 min NE of Midland. Plenty of stores to shop in that region.

Shady?
How do you figure?

First receipt states "ad not in register", there was an ad and they honored it. Store #1 called and got a conformation code, store 2 was clueless so they just entered it different. In fact store #1 warned me that some places would just give me the battery/charger and not ring it up. He wanted to make sure that both items showed on the receipt.

There were at least 4 per store, I bought from 2 and passed along a possible deal. Bought from 2 different locations due to distance and it confirmed pricing.
Would you rather I clear out 3 regional stores of all the inventory, mail order as many as possible then brag about my "score"?

Anyone know what to do next in this situation.

Bought a magic chef wine fridge. Pennied out but they sold it to me for last price 138.03. Fast forward two months and now it stopped working and I contacted magic chef for warranty repair. Sent the receipt and they stated they can’t since the receipt says “general sku item”.

Store and corporate won’t give me a receipt with the wine cooler on there.

Anything else I could try?

I think the return policy on a wine fridge is 90 days since it doesn't count as a "major appliance". If it is only 2 months old, they should take it back from you at the store without a problem - with or without a receipt. You won't get a new fridge, but at least you'd get your money back.

Their warranty obligation is to repair, replace, or refund - so they have offered you warranty coverage, they have no obligation to fix it.

Your post raises the question of whether clearance items have full manufacturer's warranty - in at least some cases, at some stores, there is no warranty on clearance items. Manufacturers also track by serial number and can know that the item has no warranty, I have run into this before.

You might have warranty protection through the credit card used to purchase the item, may be worth investigating.

Absent a receipt, most manufacturers go by the date on the item nameplate. If the unit was manufactured recently enough, you might still be able to get warranty coverage that way.
