Agreed!

Thanks for posting that bmwrd0

That 1922 cover is going into my saved pics.
I reprocessed it a bit and will post it here if anybody else wants to save this version or maybe even turn into a small poster for display in your shop full of vintage tools.

A few things from today. The vise is from the original owner and by the looks was only used a few times, the jaws have no wear marks.

Arrrrgggghh
Hangin' around the abode today (tomorrow too) just listing evilBay stuff from previous garage sales, no new ones of any interest; not many new ones at all.

Not a garage sale, but I did pick up this Kobalt 26 gal, 1-1/2 HP compressor at the dump today for 'free'. The compressor is shot/blown apart, but all I want is the tank anyway.

I'm going to mount a small Smith cast iron pump and 1/2 HP Gould motor I cut off a compressor unit I had who's tank developed a pinhole.

More pics here: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8405152

I did pick up one thing of interest at a used bookstore the other day:

Not a reprint, but an actual 1922 set of shop notes. Very interesting and actually quite helpful.
That's super cool! Did you pay the price listed on the cover? :)

Does this count?

Jet JMD-18 mill/drill.

Free from work cleanout. Barely used (for prototyping only).

I have the table and stand (disassembled for transport). Have a line on a vice, will need to buy arbor(s), tooling, etc.

Free always counts

Thanks. Also got a couple of old 4-drawer steel filing cabinets.

Might get a couple of tables, too. Including one that raises and lowers with a crank. Not really sure what that's for...

A free milling machine? You ****.
Post a picture of the table, whether you take it or not. There’s a few situations where flexible height would be advantageous (workpiece layout, assembly), but the construction (or branding and model number) of the table would be the biggest clue to its use.

Stay at Home order in effect now for Ohio. I went out yesterday before it was announced to pick up this 1946 Coleman 228C lantern.

Stupid virus is getting in the way of my hoarding, errr collecting....

As said, you definitely **** on that deal. A mint condition JET mill ($2500 new) for free?? No tooling? Maybe somebody else grabbed that. I’m sure you’re not complaining. :)

Estate Sales from the past...

(Staying at home going through stuff...)
I found this Wilton Shop King I picked up for $20. Estate sale price tag still attached.

Hi all,
Cant believe that I just found this garage sale thread and scrolled through all 70+ pages. I could have been contributing for years!

Here are a few things to start me off

24" rigid pipe wrench and HF circular saw (for cutting up scrap wood) Total $20

Older wood splitter we thought the pump was bad, but turns out the cylinder had an internal bypass - picking up seals for it today. Bought for $350 2 weeks ago.

Bench I got for my friend - picked from dumpster mid jan

I have a few other things from earlier this year that I will have to take pictures of!

Welcome, Zack! Given our current lock downs in various locations, I'm sure we'd all welcome you getting caught up on several years worth of picking. Post anything you'd like!

I just sold a tool box that's being shipped to Louisiana. Wonder if it'll get embargoed at the border?

I hope that my posting of recent finds doesn't bore anyone. :lol_hitti To continue on:
The Saturday of February 2nd Started with a small find at the local flea, and a box with contents. The flea yielded four Craftsman metric sockets, a metric ignition wrench, a SAE ignition wrench, and a punch. Also found a Chrome X Quality (Western Auto) 17/32 -7/16 tappet wrench for my WA collection.

Stopped at an unadvertised estate sale on the way home.

And bought this box.

It was full...….

Not a garage sale, but I grabbed these two tool boxes of a load of trash headed to the dump. Most of the contents were garbage, but Iplulled a few cool things out. I’ll show them off after their bath. With all the garage sales and the swap meet shut down, it was just nice to find something!

Hello,
First time poster, long time follower of this thread. The finds have slowed way down it seems and I will do my part to post this weekends find. The only sale I could find in my area was an estate/moving sale that I had about zero expectations of after viewing the pics and description. The very nice lady running the sale caught me on the way out after walking all 3 rooms (in about as many minutes) and asked what I was looking for? Tools. " the bottom drawer in the kitchen cabinet has a few if you want to look". Room was behind a do not enter sign but with permission a quick look revealed these.

Nice Plomb box caught my immediate attention

Inside mix of 1/4" long C and Plomb
20200324_181818.jpg
Vlchek and PLomb wrenches
20200324_181804.jpg
Pulled a few SK and Snapon sockets as well out of the kitchen "tool drawer" as well. Out the door $17
Happy hunting

And Outlaw wins the prize (but not the ratchet) I saw the ratchet and immediately picked up the box, never seen another around here. There are also two tommy bars for pull handles (1/4 and 3/8), but not a single other 1/4 size item :headscrat .Most of the Craftsman was =V=. Best find for me so far this year.

I have that Powr-Kraft and a newer looking but very similar Wizard box too. Looking forward to seeing the goodies.

Here’s some pictures of the contents of my garbage find. The first two photos are the leftovers and the third photo is the keepers. The top left is craftsman =v= and long C. Top right is P&C, proto, and an S.R. Bottom left is barcalo and durochrome. Bottom right is all plomb. Not much, but it satisfies my tool hunting Jones for the time being.
