I've had a similar situation at lowes. Someone had put the wrong price on ladders and when I checked out, I said it had such and such price on it. They had to call someone to go look and they honored the price, but the guy wouldnt talk to me after he got off the phone. Even if I directly asked him a question he wouldnt even look at me. I was getting pretty irritated and everytime I use that ladder that feeling comes back, I wish I wouldve just left it sitting there.

Originally I think they went for close to if not more than $20.00. It might have even been stainless but I can’t recal. Oh anyway it’s water under the bridge. Besides I get enough good deals and discounts on other tools all the time that I figured it’s probably best if I don’t go making any problems and drawing attention to my self. I don’t want to be that guy.

I would have offered the marked clearance price you were happy with just to stop it from going out the back door to a worker. Since they weren’t going to let you have it for the penny.

Now I know. That’s exactly what I’ll do if it ever happens again. I had other items I was buying and the second or third item I scanned caused the checkout stand to lock user out requesting a store associate. Yes I go to self check out now and check the prices on clearance items and will pay right away on any item that comes up .01 cent. Live and learn “shoulder shrugs”

Screw that guy. Every time you use that ladder, it should feel like victory. You were right and you got what was coming to you. Every time you use that ladder, it should feel like a big F. U. to the person who was wrong.

Found some new work ceiling boxes marked down from $2.18 to $0.63/ea. Grabbed the last 12 along with some leather gloves clearanced at $1.72/3 pr.
Boxes rang up at penny price!
And the cashier let me have them.

you should have a penny or gift card at the ready. once you checkout it is yours. and arguably if it is in your hand while shopping it is tentatively yours, because it was on the shelf, you are supposed to be able to buy it.
Employees that have a Karen flair badge will tell you no, and ones that realize it will end up in the trash compactor, will let you buy it.

I had a low level tell me I couldn't buy a penny, then his supervisor, and then I explained to the manager that if they weren't supposed to sell it, the MET team or employees should have pulled it. He saw it my way. Since they didn't do their job properly, the customer wins. It's not like this is repeating every day, so in reality the store should just let it go.

Consumer laws are fairly tough in FL. You pay the price posted, period. Every state varies.

My best score was a Tag Heuer watch that an employee tagged wrong @ $57. Retail was $1400. I was literally skipping back to my truck.

Got a 700 dollar moto jacket for 170 because it was tagged wrong. Wouldn't let me exchange it for one size down "without charging me the difference". So now I have to flip it on ebay. Price error in your favor are the best.

I am a bit confused by this deal on a Milwaukee "extra bold" 100 ft chalk reel:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...arge-Capacity-Chalk-Reel-48-22-3910/308345011

It shows up on the website for 75% off. NO shipping. If you search for it, before clicking on it, the website will indicate how many are in stock at your local store with the 75% off price shown. My store showed 2 in stock and also offered local delivery for $8.99. I assumed this meant I could walk into my local HD and pick it up for 75% off. When I went to the store there were indeed 2 in stock but it rang up full price.

I asked customer service if they would match the website price but they said that it was being fulfilled by the warehouse and delivered for $8.99 and that they could not match the price in store. I disagreed and said that I thought the store would fulfill the order - so why not just let me buy it in store and not pay for delivery? After all, the reason I came to the store was because the website said the item is $7.49 and my store has 2 in stock. They adamantly refused and told me that I was wrong to assume that the advertised price was available in store.

I ended up placing an order for delivery and paid the $8.99 delivery fee. After I did, the stock went to zero. The delivery driver did indeed fulfill the order with store stock.

This is new to me - showing local inventory and a clearance price on the website, but not allowing in-store purchase - but allowing delivery for a price? Anyone else see this before? Seems stupid as hell.

That is SO bizarre, but none of the policies make any sense to me at all...

This is common for nearly all stores that have both brick and mortar and online stores, they are actually separate businesses with separate inventory. That's why stores will almost never match their "same store" web pricing.

In your case, if they filled the order with product located in the store, what happened was that the website bought the inventory from the brick and mortar store then sold them to you.

Online stores are separate businesses for tax, liability, and economic reasons. The website can also offer better pricing because their operating costs are lower.

Stopped by HD today:
1. Ego still hasn’t done another price drop on the remaining outdoor power equipment
2. Fein FM350q was $100 on clearance. It’s an amazing tool especially at 50% off.
3. Empire extendable levels still haven’t discounted at my stores.
4. M18 tool + free 8.0 battery was fully stocked up
5. Reminder to keep an eye out for non stock items you don’t typically see in store. They may be returns or something but they can often ring up cheap.
Like this starlock 3 pack. My store doesn’t carry these (but nearby stores do) so I took the chance at self checkout and scored them for .01

Are these non-stock items typically found in the clearance section? And are they not marked with a price, or do they have a price but just sometimes ring up at a penny?

From my observation, that seems to vary from store to store. Most likely store or department manager’s choice?

Best bet is to just ask a friendly worker what they do with them?

Anybody know what you would get back on the 8.0 battery and the Milwaukee sawzall bogo deal?

The rules are a little different, depending on how you add it to cart (online,) or do it in-store. It is possible to get the blower to $113.69 or drill / driver kit to $285.31 if you play it right. Read the Milwaukee deals thread more often.

$349.00 for the kit plus the blower is a daily deal too. See https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=470533

Saw the eGO 56v power inverter on clearance from $129 down to $69. Didn't have my phone with me so no pics. The website isn't even showing it by me, but there's were two on the shelf.

That has been that price for 3+ months. More a matter of finding any left now.

Just an FYI this has a 30 day return window. I bought a couple for gifts, and actually found out ahead of time they didn't want these. I went to return 2 (bought 5 over a couple months), and they only have a 30 day return window, as they had bright idea of lumping this, along with other battery inverters, in with generators. Not great around the holidays.

Thanks for the info. I don't own any eGO stuff so no worries for me ;)

Miracle-Gro Garden Soil All Purpose for In-Ground Use, 2 cu. ft.-75052430 - $1.50

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Miracle...-for-In-Ground-Use-2-cu-ft-75052430/206553446

Thanks Red. I got 2 bags. They didn’t believe the price and tried to give me the smaller bags but they called the manager over, he researched it and said most likely the new bag will be a different color and UPC code when it arrives in the spring They had a pallet full.

Nice grab! Where do they usually stock oddities like this? In the area they'd normally go or does your store have a returns/clearance section?
