A few acquisitions from last week and yesterday:
First is this heritage top box, saw it on CL for $25 and had to grab it even though I really don't need it and have no space for it. These don't come around very often in my area, at least not that I see. Just a bit of surface rust on the bottom, otherwise it's in really nice shape.
This batch came from an estate sale that was very picked over by the time I got there. Wish someone hadn't taken a grinder to the Duro combo, grabbed the Filsons just because, then there's a P&C 2814 DOE, Superrench tappet, and a set of Kleins. $6 if I remember correctly.
This is another flea market batch. SK Wayne 1/2", a couple of interesting "Auto-Kit" wrenches, I grabbed the Fulton DOE without looking at it closely as I assumed it was a Long C like the one below it. Wizard combo, Plomb 3026 and modified 3430, and a couple Lectrolite DBEs. The stuff on the left is VlChek, the sockets are SK, Duro, and Bonney. I probably paid $10 for this but honestly I can't remember.
Another $8 or $10 flea market batch. Duro Chrome 1/2" rat and 2016 circle X DBE. The extension is P&C, SK Wayne 3/8" rat, I assume the group of hex drive sockets on the left are Indestro/Duro. The 1/2" drive stuff to the right of that on the top row looks Indestro/Duro to me but I can't quite place the knurling, which looks almost Bog like. Then at the bottom is a yet to be identified wobbler, Craftsman BE, CARbureTER, SK, and dual branded Penens/Challenger.
This batch came from an estate sale for $10. B-52 3/8" rat in nice shape, I usually grab the craftsman spinners for sets, a few SK 3/8" drive hex keys, =v= hinge, and an interesting Snap on 9/32" extension that's E dated.
This sale was a bit of a disappointment as I pulled up on a completely packed hoarder garage but the guy said he hadn't pulled any of the automotive tools out yet and wouldn't be doing so for a few weeks. It was total picker heaven in there and the guy had like 6 Mercury Cougars parked under the trees in varying states of mold. Anyway I paid $14 for the 151 USA spokeshave and the 220 block plane. I didn't look at the block carefully and only bought it because I thought it was a 60 1/2...of course it's not and I noticed later that the throat is chipped. Oh well, it'll be good for parts.
Finally, dragged the kids to a few sales before their soccer games yesterday. Got the Craftsman axe in great shape with original handle for $2 and then a few other things in the pic below. Went to one sale that had some nice old SK diamond offset DBEs but the guy running the sale waited for me to dig them out of a tool box and then when I went to buy them told me he wouldn't separate any of the stuff from the box, which he decided was worth $100! He literally was pointing out to me that the tools were "antiques" as I was digging them out and didn't bother to tell me he wouldn't separate until afterwards. Douchebag. Oh well, on to the next.
Everything in here but the rat came from the same sale as the axe, $3 for the Herbrand combo, Craftsman combos, and =v= deep socket set. The Par X 1/2" rat came from another sale and was $2.
