I do not know how I missed this build, just spent an hour from page one. I love the modern styling, everything. Great buy on the 'DL too, Ecodes and turns truly make the car. Awesome build man, inspires me even more. I am a VW tech down here in PDX and love before the R there was this....

Thanks! The front wall is 15' tall and the rear is 10' tall I believe.

too small for me..I need at least 100x500...

Ha! If only. That is more than three times the size of our whole property. lol

Thanks man. Was your Jetta a VR? My friend has a 400whp vrt corrado. Probably one of the faster cars I have ever ridden in. Only bad part is he doesn't get traction until 4th gear.

Your MOM was a HAM operator? Wow, that is interesting; always thought it was just guys that got into it. I am not, sorry to say, so I cannot suggest any HAM forum. You might just Google 'HAM' & 'Wa. state' and see what pops up.

Once again, that is an elegant structure. Any thoughts on some large glazed pots of some shrubbery or dwarf firs to accent the exterior wall surfaces? Maybe something to reflect the great exterior lighting locating the pots below each fixture. That design is so sharp, it almost demands a Zen Buddhist gravel landscape for it to 'float' in.

Living in Edmonds, have you ever had the chance to visit the Japanese Tea Gardens located in the Arboretum south of the U. of W. campus? A worthwhile day trip any time, especially in late spring. Don't forget your camera if you do go there; the volunteers do a wonderful job keeping the Garden looking pristine and picturesque.

GTI, Jetta front end. Yep, 12valve VR, 442whp and 418 torque at 22psi, would have ran more but we were running out of injectors/fuel Enjoy your '93 SLC too, really starting to appreciate in value.

It's been a while. Not much has happened, we're a bit more settled in and ready to work on the winter projects.

$125 a square foot. I'll let you do the math. haha.
I'll have to double check on the door brands. I do know they were like 3k a door. But they really add a lot to the exterior and let lots of southern natural light in, so are totally worth it.

Well, how I understand it, there is a rule that you can't have a certain percentage of your property covered in pavement or non-permeable surfaces. Much of our property is covered now, and we will be building a bigger house on the lot in the future so we wanted to give some room for growth. We will be putting in permeable grass pavers for the other door in the spring. Similar to Andres' driveway seen here.

And that way, we can still have somewhat of a backyard instead of a bunch of blacktop.

This winter's project. We hope to have it painted before spring comes along.

We washed it inside since it's already pretty cold here in the pacific nw. It's just above freezing right now actually. brr.

The owner Rob DeGaetano is a really good guy, and they did an awesome job with the build. They focus more on home renovation, and our garage was their first large scale, built from scratch garage/studio.

A few pictures from earlier this week. This was after a day of snow here in Seattle, 2-3 inches in the photos. I love snow, I'm from VT originally, so having some here is always a treat.

The next day we got 3 or so more inches, which I know isn't much for some of you guys, but it's enough to cause some commotion around here. It is also a blast to drive/drift in with the wagon. Rear wheel drive, manual, and with studded snows all around.

It looks super spacious: With all my junk you would need double the area or I need to get rid of half of my junk! Super clean job I am sure most members are drooling to have such a place. Thanks!

Hey Awesome build.I gotta tell you it looks similar to my drawing board garage.My house has all single slope roof lines,and the shed I built this past summer. So I thought it would look great for a garage,then I stubble upon yours.We have an Audi dealer nearby that has the same horozontal metal siding.I too have a "Brick",love to get a set of wheels like the blue one you posted.

Looks like a Heathkit HF rig I used to have. If it is, there is a good chance she not only operated it, but built it.

Curt_pnw get the model numbers and look on Ebay for value. Most larger towns have hamfests and maybe monthly flea markets where you could sell it locally.

The space is awesome - I wouldn't mind seeing that out my back window. Congratulations.

Nice, I used to live above Perrinville overlooking Olympic view drive. I love living in this area.

What Andres used is probably just the generic concrete pavers with holes so grass can grow through them. I think we will probably be using the same ones.

Thanks a lot man, I have always liked documenting things, and with builds like this, it is nice to post up as many pictures as possible so I can go back and see what happened when. It is also an amazing thing to share progress with people from all over the world.

We are planning on building some cabinets for storage. I would like them to be shallow so junk can't be hidden away, never to be used again.

And a little update. Finally got around to getting some quality tools (see: toys) in the shop. I love getting packages on my doorstep just as much everyone else, but seeing this in the afternoon was

Mostly set up. I have a tank and helmet now.

I've practiced a bit here and there in the last couple days, but I have a lot more to do before I'll be content with my skills, especially on thin gauge sheet metal. I have been TIG welding lots of aluminum in the last year, so switching to this is a bit of a change. It's tons of fun though.

What are you plans with your white one?

The red one is a 68, and the white project is a 67. I have been on the samba for ~5 years. Great forum, love that place.
Plans for the white car include pan restoration, and a full interior/exterior respray. Still unsure on the color. It will be quite low, eventually will be airbagged. I had a newly rebuilt 1776cc with 1200 miles sitting around, so I swapped that into it. For wheels, I really want to get some stock steelies widened and chrome plated, and run white walls all around.
