Here's the number one storage item, my 2004 Jeep Rubicon rock crawler...

...in addition will be my 2500 RAM Cummings quad cab on a daily basis, and my son's 1998 Cherokee Father-Son project vehicle.

Nice looking TJ! Looks like your running 60's and a full traction or RE longarm.
Here is my TJ project that is waiting for its new residence so I can finish it, a 24'x36' pole barn. Where in Clarkston are you? I live in White lake and soon to be moving to Holly. Are you on GL4x4?

Sorry guys, no updates this week (just answering questions). I have been in Germany on business and won't get home until tomorrow afternoon.

The electrical inspector did come and sign-off on the electrical as is stands now.

Nice well done building. I am currently planning a 40 X 60 with an attached apartment. Need to do more than a typical barn as the building needs true footings. Also on GL4X4, small world.

Have done the DI JJ on 4 occasions and always had a riot. Thanks for your time supporting that!

Managed to get a little time in the barn this weekend. Finished the final framing on the south wall...

...then got all the bays framed on the north side...

...also did a little shopping for insulation and drywall...

Looking Excellent - I hope I can find someone to do the concrete work I need done in that price range - I'll be following along - you're not cutting any corners here for sure! I copped out on the interior finishing - I ran 2" foam board against the exterior purlins, then ran white interior barn siding (22ga) vertically over the foam using three inch barn siding screws to go through the steel and foam and into the exterior purlins. Certainly no where near as nice as what you have planned here!

Not been too much going on, I did get the last on the framing done on Sunday. So I started on phase 2 of the wiring. I have the attic lights done now. Hoping to get some more time out there this weekend for more wiring. I'll try to get a couple of pic's this weekend.

Another Michigander here, only about 20 miles from you actually. I am hoping so start a 30' x 40' build in about a month or two and am currently just getting quotes. I was wondering if you would mind sharing the name of your company that did the concrete work. The quotes I am getting are quite a bit higher than what you paid so that seems like an excellent bid! And since I am doing the same size in the same area I am hoping I could maybe get a quote from them. Also, who did your exterior and framework? Oh and finally, I have a father son 99 Jeep Cherokee project going on too! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Yes the insulation is going to take a little more time, but I needed to get the studs in the right places to support steel liner panel on the bottom 4' and then drywall above.

Spent a little more time in the barn yesterday, finished up the wiring in the panel.

And added a little bling to the outside with lights on the front and at the side door...

Moving onto the wiring for the surround sound now.

I decided to start on the air-line routing today. I have the Rapidair Maxline 3/4" pvc/aluminum tubing and fittings. Pic's to follow in a day or two.

The local building place here sugested i put 4x8x7/16 sheets of green guard insulation board under my steel. I am in no way a builder and am trying to find out what is th ebest way to go. I plan on have the building insulated and heated with in floor heat.

I am from michigan and just built a 32x40 with in-floor heat. I would recommend something like that under the steel. I did not install anything and wish I had. It quiets things down and cuts down on condensation. Just one of the things I put in my "If i had to do it all over again I would do that instead" folder...

Ok thanks. Thats what i wanted to hear/know, its nice to be able to learn from other people who have already done the same thing i plan on doing.

Mine was sweating really bad for the first month after the concrete was poured, since then it has been dry...but bear in mind I have only been heating it periodically with a torpedo heater. I think with good ventilation and the ceiling insulated you won't have any sweating problems.

You may still want to consider something if you are planning on storing a lot of stuff in the attic. I am going to see how it goes this year and then decide if I put up any radiant/thermal barrier to help reduce the heat in the attic.

Garage is all built and exterior is fully finished. I'm working on the interior right now. Specifically I'm in the middle of modifying a few trusses to gain some ceiling height for my lift.

Made some great progress this week...

• Completed air lines and tested for leaks
• Finished gas lines and checked for leaks
• Hung all the wall insulation

So now I am ready to start hanging drywall.

Had a great weekend working on the barn. Managed to get 80% of the drywall hung this weekend (and that was after installing a new washer and dryer).

The long wall closest to the house is complete...

The front wall above and on both sides of the main door is complete...

Still have to finish drywalling around the stairs...

The other long wall is 80% complete, one more sheet to hang. Then it's onto the stairs and finishing around the windows. It's difficult to see in the pictures but the bottom of the drywall is finished with the white plastic J-channel, this gives it a nice edge to **** against the steel panels that will be along the lower 4ft.

Looks great! Cant' wait to see it with the steel on the bottom. What are you planning on doing about the electric boxes in the steel part of the wall? Did you hang them at the same thickness as you would for drywall?

I did hang the electrical boxes at the same depth as drywall, but I expect to need to move them when I get to hanging the steel. I will probably have to play with the location along the wall to make sure they aren't over the larger ribs in the panels. The steel for the lower may be later in the spring/summer...I want to get the ceiling finished first (also steel).
