My build is continuing along. Electrical rough is ongoing. Hopefully the rough inspection will be signed off by Friday, so that we can insulate the walls next week. Electrical is taking longer than I thought, but we are doing more in-wall than I had initially planned. Hopefully this means there will be less electrical to do after the walls are closed in.

Prep for the concrete apron is ongoing. Hoping to get that poured by Friday.

Electrical rough was signed off on Friday.

Saturday I cleaned up my speaker wire and data wire routes.

Wednesday spray foam insulation starts. I have a couple overhangs on the house that will be foamed first, then on to the garage by Thursday.

Insulation started yesterday.

I had a couple areas of my house that needed to be addressed by the insulation crew first thing yesterday, so the progress on the garage is less than a typical full day.

The insulation crew will be back today to continue their work.

Not as much insulation progress yesterday as I expected. I'm sure there is a story, I just haven't heard it yet.

More insulation progress today. Spraying the roof is going to take some time.

Electrical wall finish is starting.

Outside we are tying in the downspouts and routing them across the flat yard to the grade.

Concrete apron work scheduled for tomorrow along with alarm install for break in and heat sensors.

I wish those were roots. Those are the severed arteries of my irrigation system...that I have to replace.

With all the excavation, blasting, and rock hammering the irrigation system took a beating, and this whole area needs to be redone.

A new communication line to a remote zone valve box was run last week, and that was carefully avoided in this area. Once the drain lines excavation is brought back up to finish grade new irrigation and sprinklers will be installed.

3 of the 9 roof bays are now insulated.

Downspout underground drains are now backfilled.

And after a great deal of heavy truck traffic, my non g20 rated distribution tank manhole cover gave up the ghost. Amazing it lasted this long. I had noticed a crack yesterday. Today's top soil deliveries must have done the cover in.

The failed manhole cover will be replaced with a g20 cover before the parking area is repaved.

Today the concrete finisher cut the control joints in the apron.

Spray foam continued in the garage. 3.5 of the 9 total truss bays remain to be insulated, then the 4 dormers and the balance of the front gable. My guess is 2-3 more days. My gc thinks they will be done by end of day tomorrow.

Grading up to the retaining wall is getting my yard back to some semblance of what it was. The new septic distribution tank covers were delivered today.

Spray foam was completed on Saturday.

The actual garage is starting to match the picture in my head. Pretty cool.

Thanks Mike.

Finish grading on the right side of the garage is complete.

Work right now is on replacing the manhole covers with G20 covers. Found out the existing risers won't accept G20 covers, so new risers have been ordered and delivered as well.

Working on getting a sheetrocker attached to the project. Everyone is busy, and this isn't an easy install between the trusses, so prices are a bit higher than I budgeted.

For the first weekend in what feels like months I had both the time to work on the garage, and some projects that would move the construction project closer to a functional building.

First thing I did was cut back the plywood over the bottoms of the side windows. Lights are not installed in the main part of the building, so more exterior light helps. Used my router with a 1/2" flush trim bit. Worked great.

Power is on to the exterior lights now.

I brought my compressor in and assembled the material for my electrician to wire that up. I also have a 3/4" by 4' flexible hose on order to make the connection from the compressor to the compressed air distribution system. That won't start until the walls and ceiling are finished.

I decided to move my scissor lift to its new home in the new garage. The depression in the slab was covered by a piece of 3/8" steel, and apparently filled with water a long time ago. Spent a while cleaning out that mess and giving the metal a lick of por15.

Then I decided that the garage really needed somewhere to sit, and some music.

Took the old recaros from my 240Z and made a frame on casters for my new garage couch.

I added some bookshelf speakers to my wooden cart powered by an NAD D7050.

Pretty close to a functioning work space now.

C7 with a tow hook "for the win"!! Nice job with the Recaros too!

You of course know you are obligated to keep this epic build thread going with on going projects and adventures in automotive shenanigans?

The vette sees track time with COMSCC. I'm not a total poser, but I do like the look of the tow hook, and leave it on between track days.

Thanks, jeff.

Roof drywall is almost all up, and taping is starting.

Outside the garage, we rebuilt and regraded a retaining wall and gravel turnout that i use to turn around 10 wheelers and my truck with the trailer attached.

This turnout was a walled off grass area and was all loam when we bought the place, and has been a very useful addition.

Garage looks amazing! Time to schedule a mid-season COM banquet at your place, I think. I'll bring the beer ;)

Grass is starting to come in on the side we disturbed the most.

All the ceiling drywall is up, now need to do the triangles on the gable ends. The inside of the dormers were boarded today as well.

Drywall finishing is still poking along with only one guy. No one else gave me a reasonable price, and it seems that everyone in my area is flat out.

Next week looks to be another low productivity week. The plywood walls need to be finished - which is probably only a day and a half of work - but the guy who I want to do it has to complete a different project for me next week with liquidated damages, so that is much more important to get done.

So the schedule looks like this:

Next week, week 33 of the year basically no work.
week 34 plywood and then hopefully interior painting starting Wednesday the 23rd.
week 35 Electrical finish - interior lights, fans, exterior spotlights, possibly exterior painting this week
week 36 (first week of September) concrete floor work
