I think it has rear abs, however, we never touched the rear at all. We replaced the booster due to a vacuum leak. At the completion, the driver front hose blew. Chineseium .. it had been replaced about 2 years ago. Replaced and bled both sides twice, and it's still spongy.

Ok here we go.

I can get 6 of these across. I started putting the most highly used ones in bins. Some of the more esoteric stuff i probably can knock the bin sizes down a little. There's also room under the back overhang i have to figure out how to use. probably tetris. these are old blueprint drawers. Very heavy duty but not really designed for storing hardware.

The original plan pre-3d printer was these strips of pressboard. ripped and slotted on the ras. i don't like how hard it is to dig nuts out of the bottom and you can't reconfigure at all.

How long does it take you to print out one of those bins and any idea approximately how much they cost you? I take you can vary the sizes & designs easily. Planning to look into buying a 3D printer if these can be done cost effectively.

Well I have a crealityk1. It's pretty fast. 2 bins fit on the build plate at once and takes about 2hrs to print. I got about 15 bins from a 1kg roll of pla. So currently that's about $20. I'm looking for cheaper pla. I think I can get each bin under a dollar. The real benefit is I can make them exactly the size I want. I can't do that with commercial ones.

I'm doing the same thing, but using PETG for my bins. Definitely not the cheapest, but I did modular sizing to fill the drawers and not wasting too much space for the smaller/lower quantity fasteners. I did not break down my cost per bin, don't want to. I believe I have a few hundred bins and it is still in progress.

I have a roll of Prusa PLA that I tried for a different print, but the off gassing was horrible. I'm curious about your experience with the PLA. I'll use it up, but not on anything I'll run when I'm in the shop.

Making some progress on this, made 2 different sizes additional bins and switched to PETG to see how that prints.
Got a set running now.

I spent last weekend whacking out my boy's truck, swapped out 4 ball joints and all the steering links. So that's done. In the meantime i printed out a bunch of the larger grey bins and yesterday made the small black bin in CAD and printed two sets in PLA. The rolls of PETG showed up a couple days ago, i'm going to make a lot of stuff in that blue if it works out. matches the shop.
And the PETG was only $10/kg. So half the PLA price.

I didn't realize how hard it was to get nuts out of the bottom of the dividers i had in here before. It sucked. The bins work much nicer.

There's a lot of space under the overhang in front of the bins. Short of playing bin tetris to get things out of there, any ideas on what to do in that space? There's no way to modify the drawers for full extension.

You could use a longer bin in that row. Allowing access in front of the overhang but allowing for storage under the overhang. Otherwise I'd be tempted to just put a filler piece under the overhang. It is nice just grabbing a bin when several fasteners are needed.

PETG needs a textured plate, I found that out the hard way as well. Sorry, forgot to mention that.

I have also found the coating on the textured plate wears out with a lot of use. I had first layer adhesion issues and tried several different things. For the hell of it I replaced the sheet, no real visual difference between the old and new. The first layer adhesion issue went away with the new plate, no other change was made when I installed the new plate.

We started on Saturday, expecting to finish sunday night. hhaha. i can be naive...

The car has obviously not had the timing belt ever done. 138K. it was living on borrowed time. Interval is 90k.
It's a michigan car, and while not super crusty, it wasn't giving up easy. We're about 1/2 done. And i've done this job several times.

Don't worry i'm still alive. Been picking away at the daughter's car. Every time i touch anything on it, something falls apart. The injector connectors literally turned to dust when i touched them. As with everything euro, it's a few days away and i have to do everything sequentially.

I'm still tinkering on the bolt storage, while i think about what rolls of filament to order next. Buying a few tools along the way, including a change to my bridgeport to QC30 tooling, which matches my Hurco. I wasn't terribly deep into R8 yet, so it's not a big loss.

And finally, today is my 30th wedding anniversary. My wife called in, but i did not. So i guess i get to bring home some dinner. We were going to go to Chicago and go to a few shows but cancelled everything with all the work junk going on. So i guess it will be a quiet anniversary this year.

Happy wedding anniversaries you both, 30 years & 63 years, wow
We all seem to be blessed to have found a wife who will put up with most of our (garage) antics! I include myself, albeit we only celebrated our 18th anniversary last year, so quite a few years behind you.

Our son will celebrate 35 and our daughter 30 this year. Unbelievable how fast time flies by.
That is very much a fact.

Thanks to all.

I got the cam seals reinstalled last night, had to order a seal tool to get them out as i was not about to drill holes in all of them.
So i think at this point, i'm ready to reinstall the timing drive. So we're on the downhill side...

A lot has happened since Sunday last. We had a big storm blow thru Sunday evening which took our power out. Simultaneously, i came down with norovirus. So no power, and sick. I am the only technical person at the house. So I just sort of waited to feel better over dragging out the generator. How bad could it get right? The Poco has systems to notify customers of the restoration estimate. As of now it's moved 7 times. Current estimate is Friday 430pm. We tried to start the generator in place Tues. No go. I pulled the carb and found it is junk. Ordered a new one and put that on yesterday. I got it to run but the house is too much. It looks like the fridge and freezer are not working on it. So we likely are going to lose all the food. So sick, bored, out of work for today and about to be much poorer. Can't wait for tomorrow....

Gosh Randy, i don't know what to say....I'm sorry it's piling down on you and the family. Wish I was closer, I'd try to help. Get healthy first. The rest will come. Take care!
