Tapatalk has been weird lately, especially with photos. If you need to edit them, take the picture, edit it in your device, then go to tapatalk and upload.

Got my new solenoid in, installed it and the line to boiler. I had a full burn going, got the boiler up to 115f and then this happened- the plastic line melted and started dumping oil all over the floor. I stepped out to the house to show the wife and this happened in about 2 mins. Glad I didn't go far!
Finished up the evening installing insulation chutes and prepping for attic work. On schedule.

It could have been a much larger mess, but i don't think a fire would start. Oil won't get hot enough to ignite, and the fire is fully contained. It burned good while it burned i gotta say. I'll test again once i get a copper line on it.

Got some parts in the mail and assembled tonight. Iron cross for the flow Gage. Copper flares for the line. Adjusted to a fast drip. Burning well. Need some clear sights for the cross still and the gas burner setup, but she's running well.
I made a copper plug for the center of the inlet and soldered in some 1/4 tube so it doesn't run down the inside of the cross. It works well to see the stream.

I don't understand the question. I have about 2000 gallons of waste oil. It's enough to use for main heating.

I thought you were injecting a partial drip into a standard system? So you will only be using the waste oil?

I wanted drip burner, boiler version doesn't exist.
Friend gave me 1930's Kohler boiler with big chamber for drip.
Plumbed into floor with big buffer tank.
Burner development with oil drip and propane light.
Propane light doesn't work right.
Oil had some small issues, but 2hr+ test burn tonight works perfect after a little work.
Need to finish controls as it's all manual at the moment.

Yup, sell or junk, some of the stuff I think is valuable is really not worth the effort to sell, but I keep holding it so I can sell it. Someday I will figure it out, at least I hope so.

Been thinking about getting some wider pallet racking and putting all 3 oil tanks on it to get rid of the floor level one in front of the boiler. Anybody ever put something like that up on pallet racking? I figure i'm looking at about 7000 lbs full capacity. I did also consider shortening the beams to make capacity go up. I do have a few 6" beams.
Also got a motion security light up on the front of the building, so i can get out of the shop at night without tripping on everything.

I am sure you can find some racking rated for that kind of weight, shorten it to fit exactly what you need, just make sure it is anchored well.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for some 42 or 48 wide then. Gravity feed and warm storage has got me more onboard with this.

I pulled my temporary 10hp rpc out last night and hooked up the 20hp motor. Because I had added the pulley I wanted to use since the bushing for it came in, I tried to rope start it. The inertia is far beyond the old 10hp and it just laughed at me and my puny efforts. The 30amp breaker didn't help any. Guess I need to add the pony. I've clearly got too much to do.

Spent more time this weekend cleaning and organizing. Also did some trial placement of the lift posts. I moved it further into the shop to clear the drain and door a bit so it can hug the wall a little more and allow vehicle passage in the open space.
The one in the corner is not placed properly because of stuff in the way. It gives room at the front for motorcycles and room on all sides.

So the Job went south and I ended up at the shop. The only small motor that I have is a 1/3 hp 1725 RPM. It draws 6.4 amps.

Thanks for the offer strouty, but it's on the edge of too small and the wrong rpm. I already have pullys for a 2 to 1 reduction. I think for the cost of the shipping and pullys I would be more than just a Craigslist motor. Appreciate your effort though. Thanks!

Spent tonight drilling and cutting sandwich plates for my attic trusses. They will attach to frame members and get welded together to form framework to resist door forces.
This work is why I made the longer weld cables and got a remote amperage box.

Digging around in my electrical junkpile, i found the old motor from my ancient air compressor that died. it's got an unusual shaft and mounting, but i think i can fab something up. it's perfect for a pony i think. i'll never use it for anything else for sure. 110V, 3450rpm, ~ 2.4hp. I need to pull the end bell and do some cutting and milling on it. Stay tuned.

While I wait for rpc components to show up and weather to break a bit, I took time out to go get this.
It's a divorced mount np205. All I need now to convert my dually to 4x4 is the Dana 60 dually hubs.
The hot weather has put a damper on work in the Attic but I have gotten some wiring done in there.

We are cooked at these temps. Not much progress to report. Mother in law is in town and kicking my ***, the Audi water pump failed so that took most of the week to fix after work and we are prepping for my boys' graduation party at the end of the month. I'll be hitting it hard after that.
