Nice touch to the carport. The colors look great. Wish we had foliage that would crawl on the building but all we seem to have is moss and it does have its place.
It looks like the measurements of your drawing are 2800mm x 1700mm.

Thank you drives I tend to overdo things at times
but I look at it this way, the Storage Cubes should not fall apart in a hurry.Thank you hewey I am looking forward to kicking the project along now that I have stopped procrastinating about building them myself.

Well it looks like your steel merchant is about to be happy 1/2 cup. Good work. The front roses are looking great too, we were just looking at the tall roses for the front of our place this afternoon, so sounds like I've got some landscaping coming up on the list now.

At least my sketch has achieved its aim.
Grumblebum thank you, our garden is fairly simplistic and relatively easy care. I am trying to get rid of anything that is potted or high maintenance.
There will be quite a bit of steel in the Storage Cubes, I could have simplified the design some what but I would loose the effect that I am after.

I still have a few projects to get out of the way first before I start the build but I will get some of the materials on the go in the next week or so.

I was 1/2 asleep when I read it.
Shorty, Mrs 1/2 Cup is backing the Storage Solution Cubes project 100% and would like it done yesterday if possible.
Come to think of it I would definitely be banned form the GJ if I went to a big box store and brought a garden shed.

oh well.Just to add to the project list, I started making a new main switchboard for here last year. It brings things into the 21st century so to speak not that the existing one is to shabby.

Specs are;
100 amp 415 volt 50 hz 3 phase supply.
Manual change over switch for a gen set alternative supply
Surge and over voltage protection.
Safety switches (Residual Current Devices) to all circuits up to 20 amps (light and power only)
Off peak 2 rate metering.
The enclosure is made from CNC routed 3mm brushed aluminium which is still a work in progress.
Finally the last of the aluminium enclosure and circuit breaker risers arrived last night.

Nice board 1/2 cup. What components are you using for surge and over voltage ? - that is something I'd be interested in adding to my board which is also 100A 3 phase.

Now here's where my brain gets scrambled! I had enough electronic fun building the controller box for the wind and solar. My father was an electronics mechanic but this is where I jump the train. Hats off to you 1/2 cup. Too many colors for me in those boxes. Just call me "one wire."
That panel looks great! Cute pup too, needs a bath now though!

Coop , Bear I'm mind the normal supply to a residential home here is single phase 240 volt @ 50hz and the supply authorities normally current limit you to 80 amps, some times less now a days.
My 100 amp 415 volt phase to phase / 240 phase to neutral supply is not the norm really unless you have lots of load. Our three phase was done a few years back at a time when it was whole heap easier to do so.

After 40 odd years in the electrical trade it is time to apply the learnings here. I do enjoy switchboard building and control circuitry.
We do a fair bit of solar powered stuff at work and have nearly 12000 solar powered automated and remotely operated irrigation sites that are in our teams care.
Electrical is not every ones cup of tea, in Australia you have to be licenced to do any electrical work which is enshrined in Acts of Parliament.

1/2: ive got a lot to catch up here on your thread. Ive tried to make a few posts and my laptop crashes about halfway thru and by the time i grabbed my ipad or got the laptop running then forgot what i wanted to say.
First off if those clean bricks you salvaged from the dirt pile they look amazing. From what i hear im not sure ill ever be able to permit or afford 3 phase power unless i do some sort of rotory or vfd. Curious to see how you have your system hooked up and what tools you own that need that much power.

I have still to complete a few more trips to my mates place to salvage some more bricks when I get a chance. I just luv their patina.
My three phase supply at the time cost very little, being in the trade so to speak. We have the supply authority street over head lines running right in front our home, so there were no long undergrounds and heavy cables involved, just an overhead service to the property point of supply.
Our supply capacity would conceivably power 4 or 5 homes, not that I would ever use a tenth of that here but it is nice to have that option.
I your case an inverter or VFD would be the way to go I suspect.
Mrs 1/2 Cup has had the pups in training at several shows over the past couple of months, at six months of age they can start earning points to their Australian title.
They are going great guns in the show ring already.

Thanks for that info 1/2 cup, I'll add that onto the list and see how I can con my BIL sparky over at some point which will be the hardest part with everyone being so busy these days. I think there is enough room to accommodate in the boards.
We have the auto switching units at work that cut between mains feed and 100 kVA generator feed into our 60kVA UPS.
The genset is an old and very loud Dong Feng, which I recall a conversation about some way back in your thread, we found it on the back of an old Dodge truck up in the Hunter Valley about 10 years or so ago and the old fella who wired up the regulator for us was actually the importer of them many years ago it turned out. She puts out clean 50 Hz all day long and plugs away at 1500 RPM.
Having your generator feed option with a manual switch will be a great convenience.
