Lyndon From you know where.

Lyndon, I believe the drill was either stolen, hit with the sand blasting and vaporised or
Andy has dropped in unannounced and reclaimed it.
Much nicer

I much prefer exposed brickwork to painted stuff, and it provides a nice area of contrast to the walls
BiTurbo, it certainly does provide a nice contrast to the walls and the home in general, we love it..
Great transformation 1/2 cup. Looking forward to getting some tall roses here too in the not too distant future.
GB
GB, Thank you, IMHO You can’t go wrong with roses, they are easy care and as tough as nails in our climate. All the best with yours…
It appears that he's got a good start on them.
You should be very proud of all the work you and the missus have done. The west wing is very nice. ( Now what about the East Wing????)

Dan, the roses have been there for 7 years at least now so they are pretty well established.
We certainly are pretty chuffed with the way the
West Wing has come up so far and are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
As for a
East Wing, we have to recover from this one first….
I love it! Hilariou wishing well lol
Brownieboy, thank you for you visit, we do have fun here…
Bricks look great but that drill looks defiant. I think one cast in cement on either side, like lions, should put a twist on things as the plot thickens~
Bobby, thank you.
The drill is MIA at the moment but you are right
2 Dewalt drills either side of the brick planter would make for an interesting talking piece display..
Wow, cleaned brick, new bluestone, fresh plantings!!! All that was accomplished with one borrowed DeWalt drill? I had no idea that battery powered drills were that versatile. I need to learn how.
A big improvement by the way.
rmalkow, Its amazing what a
Dewalt drill can accomplish even if it was (past tense) a borrowed one..
It sure makes a difference to the place, let me tell you. Can’t wait to get the concrete decorative epoxy done now.
1/2: so another thing i learned and not sure how the guy sandblasted brick with morter and didn't hurt the mortar while taking off maybe 50 year old paint. the blue rocks look great.
i wouldn't want to add anything to your TO DO list, but did you ever get a fence up so the new renter knows that garage in the back isn't his? if you don't necessarily want the tenant to know the owner which is your call you might want to get up a fence so they will think the WEST SHED'S garage has always been yours. that house has come a long ways in a short time and i bet it will be nice to have it behind you soon so you can start playing and working in the new garage.
how does a guy show up with a sandblaster and do that sort of work? was he a friend or did you just look him up? very expensive and did he just do the entrance cement and brick or did you have other jobs for him while he was there? any idea how long it took? also i don't see any paint debris anywhere or did you put the blue rocks on top of it?
as usual you've done a great job and hired the right person to help.
drives, the guy that did the sand blasting is a real pro and I have known him from my contracting days, Even though the mortar of this era is pretty soft the blasting did not chew it out at all and left just enough paint to give it a nice patina. I do have to add that the blasting was pin point and there was no collateral damage.
The whole job both front and back verandas and planter only took a couple of hours and cost the princely sum of
$200 au. The brick planter was a last minute decision and I am pleased we did.
I did have to sweep then hose the areas down and the blasting fairly chewed up the paint into dust for the most part which I will pick up with the mower on the week end. There was very little blast media left and what was, now top dresses the lawn.
No, we have not done the fence as yet, at the moment the garage is locked up securely and I can keep an eye on it from my place any ways. It will also form part of the rental agreement in terms of access as we are not too fussed about a tenant knowing that we live next door.
We still have a bit to do but we are on the home straight now..
Thank you one and all for your visit and feed back, it’s truly appreciated..
