Dan, I totally agree and understand exactly where you are coming from.:thumbup:

As for clocking screws, I do apologise:lol_hitti

Have a top day and thank you for your visit..

I am amazed at how much you guys get done and still have the time to clock screws :headscrat Although lately I have been making repeated attempts to put my right sock on with all the lines in the fabric lined up parallel as they cross the ankle leading to my toes. Sort of like women painting their toes I guess. Hope this doesn't become a habit:rolleyes:

:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hittiOh no. Bobby why did you have to go and say that? Now there's gonna be another thing in my life that take up valuable time for no reason. I have come to the conclusion that being on the GJ has all but ruined my peaceful existence. Note to self: wear solid colored socks only from now on.:willy_nil

Frankly, I'm appalled. Bobby only indicated the lines in the fabric had to be straight. Duh! If the knitted seams are not straight from toe to top then you, honorable sir, are twisted:willy_nil:willy_nil:willy_nil

Fix your socks now before it's too late. Pictures at 11:00.

I think Andy just punked you . . . . .

Either that or I'm going to have to stop dressing in the dark, just so I can align my socks (who am I kidding - I already do that anyway)..... Maybe he punked me too? :dunno:

See, gotcha again!!!!

I so enjoy dropping by here every weeks or so to catch up on all the interesting projects, both your and those shared: This time, race engines, airplanes, sidewalk coatings, never ceases to amaze me.

Really enjoyed the airplane talk and shares. I have a problem with motion sickness in turbulent air, and because of that, I never pursued a pilot's license of even kept a logbook, even though probably have a couple of hundred hours of dual time in a large variety of aircraft and gliders. My best friend from middle school has a resume much like that of Niels': Commercial airline pilot and instructor, civilian Master Instructor, has flown 737, 747, 777, A-320, Md-80, DC-9, virtually everything from Piper up to a Pawnee and Cessnas up to a 210, Luscombe, Starduster II,various gliders both single and dual, has a seaplane rating. In the Navy he flew a T2 Buckeye and an A-4 Skyhawk and was carrier qualified. He currently owns and flies a Vans RV6-7 ( Kind of a hybrid of the two). He has truly enjoyed his avocation while earning a nice living doing something he truly loves and is excellent at. He has shared his knowledge by teaching hundreds of others the joy of flying. Old age( he's a few months younger than me and a loss of hearing) may soon force him into medical retirement from United after 19 years there. It's definitely much fun. I hope you have the time to get back into your dad's plane soon.

Ric, thank so much..

I have only ever experienced motion sickness once in all the hours I have done in the air. An instructor, other fellow student and myself were doing a cross country navigation exercise, taking turns at each leg to actually fly. It was a hot and fairly turbulent day and I was in the back seat of the Piper Warrior, fortunately I held on to my lunch until we landed and I could get some fresh air..

Gliding is something I would like to try at some point..

Once you get the flying bug, its with you for ever..

All,

Stating the obvious, the weekend is here ( for us downunder anyway )

Its been a busy week at work ( so what's new ):headscrat

Worked from home on Monday due to Mrs 1/2 Cup having her wisdom tooth removed which all went well:thumbup:

Tuesday: meetings, emails, contract documentation, more meetings, more emails and did I say more meetings to arrange the next meeting. :willy_nil

Tuesday night: Our workplace awards night

Our team won a number of gongs:

The Tullaroop Reservoir Upgrade project which took out the Environmental award.

http://www.g-mwater.com.au/water-re...servoir/tullaroop-reservoir-upgrade-blog.html

I was project manager for relocation the high voltage site supply that was in the construction zone prior to the commencement of construction.

The Surveys team won the Innovation and Technology Award for the Drone program..

Wednesday: Out of office and on site to complete some commissioning of an automated regulator and fish passage.

Thursday : Interactive drone flying practice for the first time in a few weeks..
Then meetings, emails, contract documentation, more meetings, more emails and did I say more meetings to arrange the next meeting.

Friday : a two hour drive to complete site acceptance testing and the commissioning of a new pump station which went pear shaped due to some software and control issues and one of the two 75 hp pumps that was nearly ready to destroy itself vibrating like you wouldn't believe. So much for the contractors so called precommissioning.:headscrat

We cancelled the day and have to come back yet again..

I trust you all have a great weekend and thank you for your visit..

Now for the To Do List.:headscrat

Is the Mum not keeping them close to her?

HOTFR8, Evie is doing a fantastic job as a mother. The pups are in their bed for the most part which she can hop in and out easily when it comes to feeding time:thumbup:

Those are some really cute puppies

BF, thank you..

Thank you Bobby, the pups are going great guns and growing like you wouldn't believe..

1/2: how's MRS. 1/2's knee coming along? it would be nice to have her 100% again if the new puppies are up and running. they look very cute, but as you've said before they seem to act a lot different at the dog shows than at home. you might want to buy a new pair of sneakers (tennis shoes) for all the running you'll be doing soon.

sounds like the engine rebuild is back in Andrew's corner at the minute and still looking forward to seeing that project finished as i know you are.

Did tenants move in yet? and ??

cheers

1/2, I should have just copied and pasted my post. But I wanted each one to be a little more personal. So here goes. I am so pleased to be a part of this group of people we have here on the GJ. They are ALL special to me. You and your thread have become an everyday part of my life. I want to thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. You have been a true inspiration to me. ( I'll even forgive you for the "screw clocking" thing you've done to me). At this time of the year we all get extra busy and time flies by and you find yourself saying, "great I missed it". Before this week comes and goes I wanted to thank you again and wish you and your family (a little larger this year) a very Merry Christmas.

Don,

I can only echo your sentiment and wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas as well.

Thank you very much for your contribution and inspiration you have provided to all of us here on the Garage Journal.

drives,

Mrs ½ Cup is slowly on the mend, on the doctor’s recommendation not to have surgery just at the moment. She is coping well with the new rodents even though they are getting more mobile every day. I can still out pace them in my work boots…

The MG F build certainly is largely back in Andrews corner for now but I must say I would be nice to have the project finished and my shed no longer filled with a kit form Rover K Series.
Sunday was a little more productive on that front:

• Finally some Quality Shed Time with Andrew and myself focussing on the MGF suspension and sub frame rebuild, I have never seen so many suspension and engine stabiliser bushings in my life. They all had to be pressed out which proved a bit of a challenge and one time consuming job. Andrew is assembling the new sub frame in his shop and when completed we will do the final bits and pieces here..
• We were going to use the gearbox that he ran last season which is basically a standard close ratio unit. He tells me that he has just purchased a straight cut, close ratio gearbox with limited slip differential any way watch this space.
• As Andrew is cleaning up bits and pieces then returning them I am refitting them to the new engine, getting there ever so slowly.

The West Wing:

Mrs ½ Cup and I did our final work through and detail Sunday morning in preparation for the new tenants arrival as they pick up the keys Monday.
• Lawns mown and watered.
• Locked up for the last time.
• We are still not sure when they actually intend to move in.

I should take this opportunity in wishing you and your family all the best for Christmas as well and thank you for your contribution, pearls of wisdom and inspiration to the Shed Downunder.

I sincerely appreciate your kind words.

Likewise, wishing you and all your family all the best for Christmas..

I regards to the GJ it is just such a fantastic forum where we learn, find inspiration, share our successes and failures but most of all ( as you say ) be a part of a great community that is the Garage Journal..

PS even if that means getting ribbed for the following:

• Not clocking screws.:shocking:
• Not having + or – minus thousands of an inch lawn edging accuracy.:shocking:
• Not polishing copper air lines.:shocking:

Have a great day and again I thank you all for your visit here..

That's good news on the missus. I hope she continues to improve.

And I so understand wanting to get someone else's kit project out of your work space. We do it happily for those we love and care about, but boy is it a relief when we have room back.

And finally, a holiday greetings from our house to yours. May they be filled with joy and love.

Now that the West Wing is winding down, I am starting to devote a little more time to Andrews engine build, even though its not for me I am thoroughly enjoying it..

Like wise I trust you and your family have a wonderful Christmas...

All good things to hear, 1/2 Cup. Best wishes to you and yours. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Ric, thank you, I must say it has been a slow process but we will get there...

I do sincerely hope you guys have a fantastic Christmas as well..xmas

Andy,

Duped ……never.

As you should have noted by now I like to have a foot on both sides of the fence, to clock or not to clock and when I choose its polish its polished. It’s about expecting the unexpected or ½ doing things to bringing out the randomness in me.

Every time you look at your copper lines spare a thought for me and many others on the GJ.
Same goes for every screw you use I trust it brings a smile to your face.

Likewise Andy have a great Christmas with all your family.

EMMR or UMR ( Upwardly Mobile Rodents )

Merry Christmas! Good luck and all the best!

Vieux, thank you.

The pups are developing more and more life skills everyday now, their situational awareness and individual personalities are really come to the fore. They are fun to watch..:)

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and great new year.

You can trust me, I delight every time I see the small section of copper pipe I polished, and now yearn to polish the rest.:willy_nil

My dreams of being "normal" are all but over.:bounce:

Thanks one and all for the GJ experience:bowdown:

It takes each one to produce the well blended mix that makes this place so enjoyable.

Merry Christmas all, and we'll eagerly await RAW humor! (Rodent Activity Wit (even Rodent Activity 1/2 Wit)))
