Well 1/2, I take a few days away and come back to find you a Super Mod. Congratulations. Does this mean I have to be more careful what I say to you or because we're friends, I can get away with a little more? JK
Do you have to give up any of your QST and have one or two less shorty's a day?

Seriously, CONGRATULATIONS.

1/2: i guess since your life isn't very busy now that you've got the West Wing leased and all the grandsons up and walking and your drone is in the shop, but you do need to work on two engines and set up more dog shows. also the lawns need cutting, beds and plants need some work (maybe), the model A needs some attention and the list goes on and on and on. ok i'll stop there for now and just let you know that you've always been a SUPER MODERATOR in my eyes cause you are on about as many threads as i am spreading good words all over GJ.

here's to your new title and deservedly so and still don't know where you find the time. as you know most of us that belong here try to help keep this the best forum on the internet so with another AUSSIE at the helm it only keeps getting better.

cheers

1/2 Cup, I add my congratulations to the list on your new responsibility and title. GJ has another good Mod.
But hey, we still expect the usual fun projects to come from your shed. It's been too enjoyable not to mention the constant education, to stop the flow in the Shed Downunder.

I will feel very priviliged to know you are in this role, and you will be a huge asset to the Garage Journal. I will look forward to many years of your skills and expertise in all that you do!! I have been very impressed with your attention to detail, and support for all on the Garage Journal. Thank You!!

Steve, congratulations and thank you for taking on the role. As with everything you do, I expect a very professional job but this one will be invisible to most of us.

To all that have congratulated 1/2Cup on being made a Super Mod thank you . It verifies the nomination for the position was the right one to make. Being a Mod is some times not an easy thing and for me being the only one in the Aussie time zone often had is down falls that now I hope we can overcome. 1/2 still has to find his way and I am aware his eyes have been opened to see many things most members would never be aware of.

This certainly is a privilege and a real eye opener let me tell you.
Only now can I truly understand what it takes and the effort that goes in to keep the GJ the great Forum that it is..

100% on the money I do have a lot to learn but kudos go to your self and the other Mods on the forum for the fantastic support and mentoring that makes my journey that much easier..:thumbup::thumbup:

Darn now Andy and I can't scheme on getting the Dewalt drill.

Congrats.

shorty, thank you.

Go easy on me, I am just a newbie..

As a Super Moderator you would think he would feel obligated to return certain desirable items to their wishful owners.:headscrat

Andy, now that's putting the pressure on and I am starting to get a guilt complex over certain desirable items being returned to their wishful owners:confused:

I need to lay down for a bit now..

Seriously thank you one and have a top day..

What he said.

I think the size of the font under your name needs to be enlarged or at least turned to neon.....

Well done, perfect guy for the job.

1/2, is it required that Mods remain invisible while they are on? I also have always wondered what happens that makes Ryan decide to ask someone to be a Mod? I asked him once and didn't get a reply. Maybe he though I was bucking for the job but I really just wanted to know how the process happened that made decision. Maybe you or Hotfr8 could shed a little light on that for me. Maybe not.

What's on the list for this upcoming weekend? And grandkids coming to spend any QST with grandpa?

Dan, HOTFR8 has summarized it well.

The To Do List is pretty clear cut in my mind however is subject to change at a moments notice.:willy_nil

QST being the order of the weekend as my stainless drawer fronts for my Go To Bench have finally arrived.

View media item 64643
So I know where my focus will be

A few of the last bits have arrived for the Rover K Series as well today, I would like to get them all set up as well. The list is getting ever so shorter now and we are nearly ready to install the engine back where it belongs..:3gears:

Then there is the non negotiables..

Thank you one and all, have a great day:thumbup:

Congratulations Steve! Now you get to look after this unruly mob!

Chris, thank you.

I will do my best:thumbup::thumbup:

Question? So when your online are you guys allow to surf and post as normal and step it when called upon or do you sit back and monitor threads? Im sure you might have special access to site and other features as mods.

Gerard, I think HOTFR8 has summed it up below.

Trust me I am still the same old 1/2 Cup..:thumbup:

Situation normal...

We are just members like every one else but we can step in as required.

1/2 You may have to moderate your own topic here as this is going off topic.

Questions like this should be asked in the Q & S section of the forum and no in 1/2's own topic.

HOTFR8 , thank you.

All, I am excited my new drawer fronts are FINALLY here after a long wait..:3gears:

3 months, six days and 13 hours to be exact..

View media item 69075
I am sure they will be worth the wait..

The Feng Shui in the Shed Downunder will continue..

Out to the shed now to see what I can do tonight..:3gears:

Have a good one..............

1/2: looks like Andy's and my SATURDAYS finally made it Down Under this week for you.

not that you really needed the stainless steel drawer fronts on that bench of yours cause it was already great looking and functional, but i'm betting it will look even better now.

not that you want to retire anytime soon, but having your own forum, engine building or rebuilding biz, GJ B&B should keep the cash flowing. with all the FUN stuff you have going on at work your job is sort of like my wife's job where every day is a new adventure or story.

DRONE FLYING might keep you at work for years to come and i bet you like mentoring the young guys like your old friend helped you. of course the BS and time involved with any job always gets us pulling out a few more hairs, but you seem to have plenty so best of luck with everything.

have fun with the drawers and i hope the wait was worth it and that they are the correct size and look as good as your others have.

cheers and ENJOY YOUR SATURDAY and weekend.

BTW I picked up another WOOD CABINET last night and this one has already found a nice spot in my storage unit. i'll post up more pictures over on this Wood Cabinet thread i started and not sure you've seen it yet. have you? here's the link and i don't know if i like wood or metal ones better. i also moved these 2 133 drawer Address0Graph cabinets into my 9x15 portion of our 2 car garage. i'm still thinking about starting a thread in garage gallery with DRIVESITFAR'S HOME HARDWARE in his 9x15 and his STUFF or something like that.

drives, the stainless drawer fronts will just compliment the others and give a bit of continuity to the shed.

I cant wait to peel back the protective coating to reveal that shiny stainless that lurks beneath.

They did measure up just fine..

There is never a dull moment around this neck of the woods both here and at work. One thing you can't say is that we lack variety..

At work, I do make the effort to mentor and encourage our staff as I see that this is the way to progress their own careers and learn from lessons learned in the past. Succession planning is just so important and our work place encourages us to do so..

Great score on the timber cabinet.:thumbup:

Both metal and timber cabinets have their place..:thumbup:

I keep up with your threads..

Well done as usual! The drawer fronts look fantastic. They really add that custom designed look to your table.

rmalkow, thank you.

Drawer front look great Steve.

Aaron, thank you.

I am pleased with how all three benches tie in together now. This is all part of the Continual Improvements to the over all look and feel to the shed.

The Shed really needs to be spruced up a bit, the walls in the workshop section have never been painted and the floors are just pretty ordinary concrete. That said its reasonably neat and clean..

Thanks again guys for you visit, have a top day..

PS, speaking of flooring I saw some Racedeck type flooring in the latest Hare and Forbes catalogue.

Mrs 1/2 Cup actually commented that I should look at some for my work area, you could have knocked me over with a feather..
