Hey 1/2, did the quack say anything about physio before the op? That little plastic unit with the 5 blue balls, they made me **** on that thing for days after laying in hospital for 3 weeks.
Think good thoughts and ours will come flooding in to you. Get well soon!

1/2, I'm sorry to hear the news on the collapsed lung, and wishing you a speedy recovery. If you want to save some money on the medical bills you could just turn the air compressor on and inflate that lung in no time. ;) On second though better just leave that to the professionals and their tools.

Not surprising, your lungs are 1/2 collapsed.

That's just no fun at all.

You know you're getting prayers from Oklahoma. And when we add the other countries around the globe I think we've got you covered 24 hours per day. The sun never sets on Garage Journal friendship, or something like that.

Sorry to hear about the lung Steve, wishing you a speedy recovery mate. Might be an idea to head north where it is a bit warmer while you get over it. Even we have had a couple of chilly nights down to around 10 degrees this year. Brrrrr

Steve, thank you for setting an example. It seems that people (especially men) who are good at fixing and building things rarely ask for help with those jobs. That "I can do this" attitude carries over to their health. You could have ignored the pain and symptoms and just "walked it off." I'm so glad you didn't and sought professional help.

My father died "walking it off."

I've been to collapsed lung (as part of my op - it's standard procedure after they broke 2 ribs to get access from the back), and getting better from it is a slow process. But I agree with Rick (above) that they'll give you one of those contraptions you blow into hard to get all the balls into the top of their tubes. It's a pain! I've still got one if you want it.... :dunno:

Get well soon big fella.

Good to see you getting good support from here.

Lyndon
Watching on with baited breath...... (oooh - did I just say that) :hellobye:

It's my turn to return the get well wishes.
While I was on the cruise ship and coughing a bit I struggled to get out of my chair and next to me there was an older man struggling to get up too
We looked at each other and smiled then he said "getting old ain't for sissies is it"
There are a lot of tough old guys around here that's for sure and you are one of them
I believe that prayers do work and You will be remembered in mine tonite
Take care and I'll check in on you later.

Don

Geez. I am out of touch for a day and you go getting sick. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I had a collapsed lung as a kid and it was no fun. The good news is that a full recovery is the norm. Though you won't need "full" recovery to get back to playing, just keep it light and let nature (and modern medicine) do her work.

1/2Cup sent me a PM last night. All is sounding good but he will be out of action for a little time yet. His access here is not perfect but I take it he has read many of the comments. Sounds like he has all the Nurses running after him. So he is in good hands.

I had hoped to post this earlier but I am partly out of action as well. My Dad is in hospital with Viral Pneumonia and sadly he caught it from me. I was lucky enough to get over it quickly but the after affect of pink eye has pretty well left me wanting to stay away from light.
