Oh hell,

even with half a lung, you'll probably still get more done that most of us here at GJ.

Wishing you all the best,

Seems like GJ Australia are having a rough winter.:headscrat

Yes we are and it is pretty well a topic in the news here at present as those that have a Flu Shot have not been covered for this strain and any one with respiratory issues has been caught by it. Those that have not had a Flu Shot have been hit even harder and the Hospitals are full of it.

Message from 1/2 Cup >

I have a real mish mash of internet connectivity here in the hospital at this point in
time and i am trying to get things sorted today. Sadly no time to catch up on
the GJ.

I am in a private hospital and the staff here are just fantastic, i just need a little
more shut eye than i have been getting.

Also a mention of family from NSW visiting so that is good for him. Sounds like he will be out of action for a some time yet. I sort of get the message he has read posts here but not been able to respond due to the internet connection being not so good in the hospital.

That's good to hear, thanks for the update Simon.

Simon

Ditto on what Mark said. I have been tempted to ring Steve, but I know he needs time and rest, so have avoided that option. Thanks also to Andrew for keeping us posted.

Visited dad today- all going well after a busy few days with family visiting and my brothers family coming down from Sydney to see dad.
I had to step in for QST with Shelby whilst dad is away, she had a ball as usual running a muck in dads shed.
Mean while I had my chance to run a muck but unfortunately for me I was well behaved and left the shed downunder in tacked.

Until next time be good !

I hope you didn't "un-clock" any screws in The Shed Down-under while you were there Andrew - we don't want any extra stress for 1/2cup when he gets back. :willy_nil

Thanks for the update.

Discharged from the hospital on Tuesday morning. It was interesting to get a look at the scans and see exactly what is happening in side... ( they found I actually have a heart!!!)

Lots of messages of support from everywhere and in particular members on the GJ which has been awesome and my sincere heartfelt thanks goes out to all.

Great news! Now to rest at home I imagine under the best care possible of Mrs. Get healed buddy and back to full strength, or is that 1/2 strength = Full Strength. I confuse easily but no matter, sending prayers for your speedy recovery.

Thanks for keeping us abreast of 1/2's condition and recovery both Simon and Andrew.

I've been checking everyday to see how you're doing Steve. Glad you're on the mend. We'll all be glad to hear from you when you feel up to it. Take care, you're health is more important than anything else (including this forum)

Guys, thank you one and all so much:bowdown:

I was summoned to the docs today and he had read the results from yesterdays CT Scan and it is a collapsed left lung, I have been referred to a specialist and it looks like an op in the next week is quite on the cards:dunno:

One good thing about all this I get to use up some of the 12 months sick leave I have accrued after I get over this on some QST again...
...

1/2, sorry to hear of the lung misbehaviour. Rest up sir. You of all people deserve a break :) I should mention that very few, if any, threads on the journal would be this busy with the author away. Hopefully the worldwide vibes sent your way will speed your recovery.

Steve I hope you're doing better. To help out your thread, I had a to-do list today that was wife's car oil change and pick up my mom's washer/dryer from her house. I must have been channeling your energy because this is my Done list:
Oil change
Pick up w/d
Move a toolbox to loft
Move file cabinet to loft
Move misc. boxes & totes to loft
Move 6' Shell sign to loft
Install hand grab for ladder stairs to loft.
Fabbed up two brackets for a friend.
Haul off 3 tube televisions
Shrink wrapped w/d for pick by my brother.

Thank you for being a a great motivator.

As said in the PM, we are all watching you.

Partly because we like lists as mentioned above, to be completed and partly because we all care and await the next project or job you take on.

Have a good day down under.

Chat soon.

Dear All,
I went to visit dad today who was chilling out at home after an afternoon snooze, I went to explain I fixed the charging issue on the race and all I got was ...... oh make sure you post on the GJ for me! I said no worries of course.
From Dad: I'm out of the hospital, post on the GJ for me and pass on my deepest thanks to all in the group, all the thoughts, best wishes and posts im extremely greatful for I hope to be online soon.

So that's that for dad for today..... well after that I finally got out it was a dodgy alternator hence the no charging in the race car. All fixed just a few more refinements before I take dads hard work for another shake down.
