By the way, your chair/stool collection really is neat as you do not see many of that era stools just laying about.
I probably prefer the tall ones, but any would do.

1/2: since you are a calendar day ahead of us i want to wish you HAPPY NEW YEARS and even if you don't stay up until midnight to see the clock turn to midnight and start 2018 i know you have many many positive thoughts for the coming years now as your health keeps improving.
great news from the Dr. that is for certain and i'll keep sending prayers until you are off the meds entirely and have a clean bill of health.
in case you might have any more tips on how to CURE FSD please feel free to mention them. Even Andy put something in his Sig line to keep me sort of on track or at least knowing the clock started ticking on when i'm going to GET ORGANIZED.
have a great day and hope you aren't getting all the rain HotFr8 is cause i'd imagine that rain mixed with 100 degrees might make it a bit to MUGGY for this old guy.
or maybe a quick test emergency shut down of the AC to show Mrs. 1/2 that you really need that 8K or bigger back up generator.

The Bendix office furniture of the mid century is great, its built well and will outlast any that is built now a days and your right they are getting harder to get now. As you can see I have a mix of heights which are just so great in the Shed.

Its New Years Eve here now and we are looking forward to see what 2018 brings..
In terms of where my treatment heads from here I have a review with my Oncologist in 10 days time to determine what that will be. I am not sure if that will include the continuation of the Immunotherapy or not
There is a possibility that there is a combination of treatments that will prove effective in the longer term..I am still on a reducing dose of Steroids and Antibiotics for the next two weeks.
On the subject of Flat Surface Disease ( FSD ) IMHO the road to a cure is simple.
1. Every thing should have a place.
2. Every thing should be in it place.
3. Use it and return it to its place in a clean and functional state.
If that fails think of some of the really well presented garages here on the GJ and say to yourself I CAN DO THAT HERE
Even Andrew is spending some time cleaning his shed.
We did get a little rain here over the last few days, just enough to settle the dust, however it has been very pleasant temperature wise and not too bad on the humidity front. I did my lawns and edges yesterday with Mrs 1/2 Cup on rose dead heading duty.
Your right Mrs 1/2 Cup does not like the humidity big time but at this point in time I have not pursued the generator option any further.

Although my taste buds are a long way off getting back to normal I have been taste testing lots of different food groups plus still having one or two High Protein Supplement drinks per day as my Dietician recommended, so I am eating well with small increases in weight every week..
I do trust the FSD cure all, simple steps will help you

1/2: i'm trying to vacate one of my 20x20 storage units this month hence me trying to GET ORGANIZED. I won't show you my current mess cause you don't need that shock to your system, but suffice it to say i'm moving a few tons of cabinets and many more tons of old tools and STUFF.
You might recall i bought this HUGE LYON ROTOBIN that some huge hardware stores used to have their stuff in or the lumber yards. anyway it's only about 6 foot tall and i've got a good 2+ feet of storage above it and it's about 5 feet in diameter.
so my fix is to make a loft out of UNISTRUT. i'm having some technical issues like dealing with insulation and wires and getting it level, but i know if i can get it built it will be much sturdier than the wood one I built almost 30 years ago that lasted about 20 before i removed it.
anyway i'm just checking in to send you a prayer and hope you are still on the mend and feeling better.
I'm tempted to start a garage thread with just my little stuff and so members can maybe give me a few ideas i hadn't thought of so stay tuned for DRIVESITFAR IS GETTING ORGANIZED or DRIVESITFAR'S HARDWARE and DIY.

IMHO I think it is time you started your new thread " DRIVESITFAR IS GETTING ORGANIZED " ( it has a certain ring to it. )
Further to the reorganisation pictures of your current state of play certainly will not shock at all and paints the picture so to speak..
Unistrut is a fantastic and very adaptable product and I am sure you will overcome any issues in using it for your loft just be mindful of the safe working load.

All, Things have been ticking over in the Shed Downunder over the last week or so which has been great therapy and very satisfying.
The new additions to the Mid Century Bendix chairs and stools arrived thanks to Mrs 1/2 Cup doing the 4 hour drive from here for a local pick up.
I found and fitted some new imperial tube inserts with some locally made Richmond castors that work a treat..

I would have never guessed what these were for! Looks like some old plumbing tools or something!
We've got a heat wave coming this weekend! Going up to -2C!
That's about 36 degrees C warmer than last week!!!

Those stools will be great for use in the shop. I have a few different sizes around to make certain jobs easier on old legs and old backs. Plus just handy to have if friends are over to swap stories. Kudos to the Mrs. for making the round trip to retrieve them.

Stools look great!
"Make hay while the sun shines", as with most old phrases, there's more truth than superstition. The bright sun cures hay quicker and deeper than a warmer temperature on an overcast day. Took me a few years to figure that out. The other reality is if the sun is shining and you have a family get together, you'd better be making hay instead. If you don't go at it with full effort you can't do a good job. I don't try to make hay anymore, I'd rather have a life and there are plenty of folks who need to do it to survive. Rant over.

Steve they did and I have one. It looks like a big clamp that pushes down on the spring.
I also made one that works great and much easier. If you are interested in making one let me know on my sight and I will post pictures and dimensions. I have used it many times without incident but as you know there is a lot of kinetic energy in that spring. I always remove the whole rear end first so my face is not so close to the work.

1/2: i guess if you get tired of rebuilding engines or building cool sheds you can start reupholstering old cool chairs and furniture. I know it's damn near impossible to get DURING PICS when we are doing work like that, but if you might have a video camera to set up to show us how OMG that would be cool seeing you work on stuff like this. i wonder if one of Denwood's set ups for cameras would be something that would be easy to set up so you could maybe make a few YOUTUBE vids if that might be something you'd like to do cause you HAVE SKILLS SIR!! very well done.

Bobby, they irony of me scoring the spring tool was that I had leant the one that I built to a guy restoring an A many years ago ( as per Model A Restoration books not sure which volume ) it was tough.
I finally chased and chased to get it back, low and behold my original was not to be found and this one is the replacement.
