I bought mine at Zoro for $37 in 2014. Still the same price but that was with free shipping. They are stainless steel with chrome magnetic bases. Here's the TIG holder (and link):

And here's the MIG holder (and link):

Hi, Bob. Happy New Year. Don't know if it's exactly the same tig torch holder, but it's twin is on sale now on Amazon for $17.98.

Ric, looks pretty much the same as Bobs to me..

Only because the other 1/2 of the time Steve spends thinking about how to do it right! :D

All while the rest of us mess it up at twice the speed. :lol_hitti

Wish I had 1/2 the time! :willy_nil

1/2: great work cleaning up that little space. i know you and Mrs. 1/2 like your plants and flowers, but having a low maintenance yard is nice too. VERY WELL DONE!!

I know you are more than a few KILOS lighter than you were before you had your illness last summer, but sounds like you are making great progress. from the looks of things i agree with everybody that say you are in FULL 1/2 MODE now.

thanks for the kudos about helping a friend with their electrical. last night i drove up to my daughter's house (45 minutes each way) to fix a leaking pipe that i found after changing out their faulty/cheap kitchen faucet last week. a kiss was more than enough of a reward for helping her and her hubby out.

best of luck at the Doctor's at your next visit.

Of course 1/2 speed is faster than most all of us mortals.

Paving job looks great. Next time you're here I have some areas to clean up.

Andy, thank you:thumbup:

Happy to do some cleaning next time I am over your way..

Guster, in some respects I am fortunate to have this time of work to recover and with out overdoing things I am going to make the most of this opportunity to do those little jobs I have been putting off for ages that would normally take me a month of Sundays..
Its time for some action and not just me thinking about it..:rocker:

Excelling as usual. Very nicely done.

xtremek thank you:thumbup:

We are pretty pleased how it came up..

Low maintenance with a balance of colour is the key for all our gardens now:thumbup:

Not quite full 1/2 Mode yet but we are getting there on a daily basis I still have to be careful, miss a gear and over rev things..

As parents those are the thing we were put on earth to do, well done.

I am in the process of weaning of the Steroids now for the next two weeks then a CT Scan to determine what course of action we take. It will be interesting to say the least..

Thank you one and all, have a great day.

Of course, the one on Amazon comes up for sale the day after I buy the 2nd of 2 MIG holders at HF, much like yours, for about 1/2{heh heh} of what that Amazon one costs after 20% off coupon. Seems to work OK with the TIG and MIG. Got 2 to help contain the 14' hose lead on the TIG. Kinda like a BOGO!

Ric thank you

I picked up a 1/2 yd. of larger sizes in the same Bluestone yesterday to compliment what I have done with the 3/4" for the landscaping in front of the Shed Downunder.

Well I have been told in NO UNCERTAIN terms NOT to unload the tailer unless I get some help and are supervised at all times so I do not over do things.:scared:

My reply was I am only doing things by 1/2 s

1/2 a shovel full and 1/2 a barrow load.
That went down real well......................NOT

Its is real hot and humid here today and I am not busting a gut in any case.

Thank you and have a great day..

Steve. Now's the perfect time to ask for that Tommy Gate, Dump trailer, or perhaps a conveyor bed for your truck? In any case we support the warden!

Great idea! Turn this into an opportunity to get new tools and equipment! Or at least rent them for a day. Just not on the very hot and humid days. Hope you have a great weekend and yes, pay attention to the Mrs.

1/2: i bet you are on a first name basis with the crew or owner at the BLUE STONE QUARRY or store you buy all that awesome stone from and if not you sure do come out of there with some great looking product.

yep i agree with Mrs. 1/2 that steady and slow especially since your temps are up around 100 degrees now is a good plan.

hope you enjoy your REAL SATURDAY.

cheers and prayers sent!!

Bob, opportunity is right and funnily enough Mrs 1/2 Cup does not have an issue at all when it comes to tool purchases and quite often says that if you need the right tool to do the right job, get it.

Drives,
just about on a first name basis for sure.

The Bluestone is quarried about 30 miles from here but I usually get it from a local landscape supplies in town and get a pretty good deal.

It looks like it will be a whole heap cooler here today ( around 75 F ) so it will be very pleasant to be in the Shed and garden. Even so I will be taking every ones advice and getting a hand to help me for sure, I really don't want or have the need to have another stint in Intensive Care..

Thank you one and all, have a great day..

I know right. Amazing.

When Steve stops by for clean up, I’ll run up for a lesson in getr’ done.

Shorty, the key thing is to stick at it, persistence does pay off in the long run..

Happy to help with any clean up..

Steve, I think this qualifies as a MOE. ;)

Here's to your continued improvement.

Dan, **MOE is right as I got told.:scared:

The trailer is now empty of it 1/2 yd of Bluestone and Mrs 1/2 Cup is happy with the outcome and no harm was done..

Speaking of Mrs 1/2 Cup she did a pick up for me in Melbourne on Friday

As you are all aware you can never have enough storage containers so I added a few more.

Over the years I have purchased them from Abel Storage in Campbellfield, who do a great deal on the Australian made Fischer Storage and Spare parts boxes at about 1/2 the price of any of the major retailers in carton lots.

Thank you again and have a great day.

1/2: I bet you are enjoying all this shop and yard time not to mention all the cool new tools and supplies. 1/2 OFF for 1/2 CUP has a nice ring to it don't you think?

as you know i'm trying to get ORGANIZED so i've got these cool old metal parts bins that are tan with orange and 100% metal, but I also had these NOS (new old stock) metal ones with plastic dividers and grey and army green seem to my my vintage colors. even though almost nothing really matches in my small garage I do have a lot of grey and green and I do like the new grey ones so i passed on the tan ones to another member.

here's your challenge if you accept? I found some FREE LUMBER advertised and grandson was giving it away for his grandparents that are selling their home while he's selling some of their other items. i needed a few boards for my unistrut shelving and instead of grabbing some out of my new lumber pile i thought having some old growth ones might be nice. well the couple old growth boards were too rotted to keep and the rest of the boards were 1 bys so i asked if he had any tools. (remember i'm TRYING TO GET ORGANIZED). he said maybe so he opened a little shed and I saw an old tool box and a couple German license plates that i said i might be interested in. it wasn't far from my house so i left with nothing while he talked to his grandparents to see if anything or everything was for sale in the shed. he told me they'd sell the plates and anything else, but not the toolbox.

when i returned i took the plates off the wall, put a few tools that were hanging in a little box i found and then started doing the CLEAN OUT. GEESH what does 1/2 CUP do with a pile like this or do you just shake your head and say OMG DRIVES what were you thinking?

I don't expect you to help me ORGANIZE this and just wanted to let you see why I might have FSD.

hope you have enough stuff to fill all those bins and if you don't just stop on by with a couple empty suitcases. would you have kept the old tan/orange ones or the NOS grey ones. it took a little time to swap things over, but i'm liking the grey ones. i like your plastic ones too if i wasn't lucky enough to find these metal ones.

cheers and enjoy your day!!

Andy, thank you.

I find you just to set goals, priorities and have that all important To Do List.

Once I loose focus on the main game every thing seems to go on the back burner for some time, be that a clean up, reorganization or a project ( yours would be no different ). In saying all that you still do need some flexibility.

I hope you are resting and feeling better..

Drives you are spot on:thumbup:

As I progressively feel stronger every day and can do a bit more I am thoroughly enjoying myself in what I have been achieving in the Cancer Recovery process as I like to call it.

Your metal parts bins look fantastic and you have done well in sorting things  Metal parts bins are available out here but at the same time they can be expensive.

Great score on the plates.. there is some nice bits and pieces in amongst that lot as well. My approach in that situation would be is to ask myself " do I really need it " or " 1/2 Cup don't buy for buyings sake " and lastly "where am I going to put it ??

Trust me I do understand your FSD.

I have plenty of hardware to fill the majority of the boxes, I also use them to store tools and their accessories in. I do like them, they are robust and you can see what is in them. I spent some time yesterday in making labels for many of them.

Have a top day..

I end up M.I.A for a few days to come back and see you have been busy. I guess you found the coolest time to do all that work.

HOTFR8, It has been fairly pleasant to get some of the out door projects out of the way so I took advantage of it while I could as it will be progressively getting hotter later in the week..

Regards

Well I had a wet weekend until Sunday. Looks like we had no rain here.
The sea air was good but just a little damp. Home for it to heat up again.

HOTFR8, we next to no rain at all, when it did it was as humid as all get out.

Thursday and Friday are forecast to be in excess of 40 C.

Oh no, you just sent me to Hare & Forbes looking at that mig torch holder - every time I weld I keep muttering to make something to hold the torch. :D

Cheers GB.

GB, the pleasure is all mine.

I knocked my new torch because I did not have a holder and broke a ceramic so I spat the dummy and brought both..

Have a great day and thank you for your visit..

1/2: i'm making progress on my FSD. i'm about ready to start a garage gallery thread of my own so stay tuned.

speaking of BLO and NAKED STEEL it was 60 and sunny here today (probably about 40 degrees cooler than you), but normally it's 20 degrees and snowing here in the middle of January.

that said i was just moving my new FREE wheelbarrow to a spot out of the rain cause i kinda like the way it's made with steel handles and wood grips and after a little cleaning i found the CRAFTSMAN logo.

here's what a little BLO does after i knocked the rust off it with my wire cup wheel on my 7.5 Delta grinder and a wire brush. yep i had to change the wheel, but i had one of these sitting around.

hope you are surviving the heat.

Drives, I am so glad to hear that you are making progress on your Flat Surface Disease.

Keep up the great work, bit at a time you will get there..

I am really looking forward to starting a Garage Gallery thread as I am sure are many others..

Our temperature here today was a quite pleasant mid to high 80 F that said the sun still had some bite to it but I do plan my work to keep shaded and hydrated as much as possible.

That is one fantastic transformation on the CM wheel barrow, you have done well..:thumbup::thumbup:

It is amazing what a little TLC will do and that will last for many years to come..

I actually gave my wheel barrows timber work its annual coating of linseed oil as I do with all my shovels, rakes, hammers, axes and the like a couple of weeks back as it keeps them in good nick.

I do try to set aside some time, usually in spring to get most of those maintenance activities completed things like mower, edger blower, chain saw, trimmers services and maintenance out of the road for the season...

Have a great day and thank you..

All, time for an update.

CT scan on Monday and Oncology Specialist appointment this morning.

The scans showed that the pneumonitis the lung inflammation that put me in Intensive Care prior to Christmas is nearly cleared 100% meaning that I can now wean myself from the Steroids and Antibiotics slowly.

The best news is that the scan, compared to the last one in December, has also shown yet another significant reduction in the tumors as well which we are all extremely pleased about..:3gears:

The doctor has given me a leave pass to return to work as I can manage which may mean a few 1/2 Days per week at this point in time but it will be on my terms and my work place is supportive of that..
I am also in a position that I can work from home as well..

I did a trip to my work place last week just to catch up and spent over 1/2 a day there which was great.

I have been given the opportunity to take the Drone home for the week end just to keep my hand in with some practice as I haven't flown it for some 7 months now.

As Chief Pilot for the organisation we have been in the process ( prior to me getting sick ) of gaining our Commercial Operators Certification from the Civil Aviation Authority ( CASA ) this has been a fairly long winded process of producing our own Operations Manuals and quite a bit Company Policy change, so I have a quite a bit of work to do in preparation for a one on one assessment with CASA in two months time.

Aside from drone duties, I still have plenty of project and design reviews to do as I return to work and I think me returning should lighten our engineers loads some what.

In the Shed Downunder I have been slowly chipping away at things, those things that have annoyed the heck out of me for countless years are now done and dusted.:rocker:
I am proceeding with my plan to install a split system in the workshop area of the shed, support frame for the evaporator is now complete as is all the supply and control electrical. In the next few days I will fit up the supports for the Outdoor unit in readiness for the refrigerant lines.

It is still fairly warm here of late with temperatures reaching the 100 F over the past week or so.

Thank you one and all for your visit and have a top day..

1/2.... Good to hear the tests are looking UP....
Don't have toooo much fun with that drone..... :D :rocker: :rocker:

LynnW

LynnW, at this point in time the results were a great relief to us all let me tell you.:rocker:

I will endeavour not to have tooo much fun as this is all work related training..;)
Our new DJI Matrice 600 is due any day now..:rocker:

https://www.dji.com/matrice600

Type endorsement training in a few weeks.:3gears:

Back to work may be just what you need to feel better. The option of 1/2 day will suit you this weather. Now what are the rules for flying that Drone from your home ?

HOTFR8, back to work will be great and I am able to manage it on my terms which suits down to the ground. A nice air conditioned office, early start and get home to beat the heat..

Flying the Drone from my place would see me get a kick up the back side and a hefty fine as it breaks every rule in the book. There are a couple of sport fields that I can use just a few minutes out of town and away from the airport.

Note to file our place is in the direct flight path for a final approach to runway 18 :shocking:

Thank you gentlemen, have a good one..

Congrats on joining the Cancer Survivors Group! Great news, & welcome aboard.

Now just don’t go rushing that return to work. The 1st time I went back was for 4 hours a day for 3 days a week, & at the end of the 1st few 12 hour weeks I was nearly exhausted. So - don’t push it, especially as you’ve still got to drive home after you’ve finished work...... speaking from experience!

Your terms sound just like the perfect work conditions. Just checking. Sounds like you know the rules for flying that drone. Now Runway 18 would be Tullamarine ? I wish I knew what flight paths flew over me. Even my Air controller cousin has not told me. :dunno:

Glad to hear the good news 1/2cup. Do ease back into work slowly to pace yourself and no doubt you'll have some fun with that drone amidst the work with it. I watched the intro video for that DJIM 600 and WOW! What a precision piece of equipment. That thing is amazing.

Great news Steve. Apparently you are still needed here. Good examples of human nature to emulate are scarce and no doubt God knows that. Happy that the drone is all the view you will have at this time. Selfishly, I will have to say, I'm glad you will have to wait to get your golden wings; but I suspect the course correction you were forced to make has given you greater visibility in return.
