I will enjoy the engine builds, the shed is rapidly becoming a production line for Rover K Series engines at the moment and as for him selling them on the side so will the cost rapidly escalate from nothing to a flat rate of $50 AU per hour plus consumables and that's cash up front let me tell you.

I can't wait to be posting pictures of the Model A coming together..

I hope that is a week off from work for you as well to recover from being a human pin cushion.

I am suffering a fair bit of joint soreness which is a side effect of the Immunotherapy but if that's all I have to put up with I do consider myself lucky..

The cold saw is just such a godsend in the workshop, nice clean cuts and it does not annoy the neighbors.

Andrew, those MGs look really nice. No wonder your dad is so eager to help you with them. If I were in his shoes, I'd be helping too. Of course, I'd want a little seat time every now and then.

xtremek they are certainly vastly different than the Model A, I have learnt quite a lot on just what makes these things tick. They, like most modern cars are bristling with electronics and its a brave new world for me.

Like you do when they come up for sale. I can tell you a story about a friend who found an ARDUN engine for his 1932 Roadster and when it came up for sale he said to his wife we just have to have it and she said yes. Not sure what they missed out but both of them know what they have was worth it and it is still in that Roadster.

So when you say you just have to have it I know just what you mean.
I plan to visit those friends again next year.

Drives not guilty of breaking the MGF #76 it was Andrew's wife's uncle ( the cars owner ) who did it all by himself or I should say it was a grenade ready to explode in the first place. Sadly I did not get to drive that day like I was supposed to.


There is quite a few MGs of all ages in his wife's uncles shed..

Andrew helps out around here a lot which is great..

Has been too cold, wet and miserable to have either of the trucks out. The F4 needs a clean and the International has the canvas cover off to have the zips repaired so it is locked away as well not wanting to get any thing that is kept in the back wet.

I wonder if 1/2 will indulge us?

Drives no we don't have crocs or any other nasties in our rivers this far South.

With work you just do what you have to do to get the job done.

I am looking forward to taking the #76 car for a spin when its finished. Work is progressing slowly on the engine as we are still waiting on parts for the most part.

The vise base of the Cold Saw was machined flat on Friday so I spent yesterday afternoon after work reassembling it.


Healthwise, I have my bloods tomorrow and round five of Immunotherapy on Wednesday. Joint, muscle pain, fatigue and breathlessness are the only real side effects so far but I am able to deal with that all right.

Now this sounds interesting and to work on a weekend I know it is something you very much enjoy. I hope you share more later.

HOTFR8 it was an interesting day at work and the commissioning went very well. The power supply to our head office has the capacity of around 800 amps at 415 VAC. Our two standby generators are only capable of supplying half that amount at about 400 amps.
Previously when we had a mains fail all the air conditioning an non essential services would be shut down as the generators would not cope and this is not a real desirable situation on a 40 degrees C day as the building heats up very quickly. The single storey building houses about 250 people.
The air conditioning system was up graded last year with the objective being to 1 . replace an ageing system and 2. install a more energy efficient system and in tandem with the upgrade it has been necessary to have a building management and a fail safe electrical control systems in place to manage the generators loads.
Our final commissioning yesterday was an all round success where we can now manage the load profile of the building and maintain 65% of the air conditioning load in an outage.

Along with other energy saving initiatives like replacing all our office lighting with LED technology these have dramatically reduced our power bills and carbon foot print in the head office with the next phase being he installation of solar power.

Steve, hoping the continued therapy takes care of everything and you can get back on track. Maybe Andrew will let you drive the "old" MGF occasionally.

It has been a busy couple of days with a GP visit last evening to sort meds out, my Hospice nurse home visit in the morning, Oncology doctor visit just after lunch then my Immunotherapy in the afternoon and all did go well.
I have another cycle of Immunotherapy ( No 6 ) in two weeks time and then a week later a CT scan to check just how we are progressing, fingers crossed we are hoping to see some progress.

Ric I am hearing you but we are not moving any time soon. Just like I am no longer the familly electrician since my hourly rates went to $200.00 per hour with a call out fee of a flat $50.00.

My treatment is going well to date but my next scan will be the real teller.

I have no doubt I will be behind the wheel of an MG in the near future.

Had a couple of blood tests myself in the last few weeks (all good) and on one visit I had to say strike 3. Luckily she found a vein on the 3rd attempt. I sure know how you must feel when it comes to pin cushions. I still have the bruise to prove it and if she had not found a vein on the 3rd try I was going to be out the door.

A good outlook on life, work and family etc. must help.

HOTFR8 after reading what you have been through I think I am pretty lucky really as the nurses that do my bloods and Immuno are spot on thankfully, with no pain and no bruising.
