Andrew, Do you have two cars now?
Andrew, Do you have two cars now?

That saw and stand look great Steve. Sending some prayers for you from TX.
Bret

So pleased to see your progress Steve! You have our prayers daily.
I know you'll enjoy the multi-engine rebuild. Not so much when you find out Andrew has a side business selling them...
Days are getting longer and spring is on it's way. We all will enjoy your photo accounts of the A build.

I hope that is a week off from work for you as well to recover from being a human pin cushion.
Few pics of the 2 mgf’s togetheralso very nice to fire up the 1/2 works k series!
Always thinking positive thoughts concerning your full recovery Steve.
Nice looking saw you have there.
Andrew, those MGs look really nice. No wonder your dad is so eager to help you with them. If I were in his shoes, I'd be helping too. Of course, I'd want a little seat time every now and then.
Interesting little article on the Cup Car![]()
Andrew, Do you have two cars now?
Hmmmm Yep !!
One of 32 factory built race cars and I had to have one
HOTFR8 yep TWO of the beasts.![]()
Then there is the #76 car of Andrews wife's uncles whos engine I am putting together now![]()
So twice the work for you and twice as much time Andrew needs to help you with the A.
HOTFR8 now that's a top idea..![]()
HOTFR8 now that's a top idea..![]()
.Seconded!![]()

OK all carried, the motion that Andrew spends as much time helping on the A as 1/2 spends on those motors is approved.![]()

Passed and noted. Memos will be distributed in the morning!![]()
I’ll get my k series works out of dads hair so we can post progress on the A ! It’s been a childhood dream to see dad finish it knowing the details he works to, I just need to extract some k series info then the A it is.
1/2: I guess most of the guys forgot that the last time Andrew let you drive one of his MG's on a race track you broke it, but I bet Andrew will let you try it or the new car when it's ready.
good to see that Andrew wants to help you with the Model A so maybe it can bump up in between engine or car rebuilds?
hope all is well in your world and wish I could blow you some of this great weather we are having here in the PNW.
cheers
Andrew: I thought the last MG was maybe your 3rd one or was the 76 (car dad drove on the track that had an issue) yours? don't you also maybe have a few classics that you help maintain of your uncle's or father in law's that might need a few test runs on the track too so you don't get bored?
keep up the great work and always fun checking in on you and your dad's thread.

Looks like the Memo worked Guster. Will be great to see progress on the MG's and the A model.
Drives, you know race cars always break.
Endorsed.![]()
HOTFR8 they do sadly..![]()
I am full of ideas
.
Sorry, I just couldn't let that one pass.xtremek.................I have learnt quite a lot on just what makes these things tick. They, like most modern cars are bristling with electronics and its a brave new world for me.

I always thought you were full of something, but I didn't think it was ideasSorry, I just couldn't let that one pass.
......
Just shows I am not full of ideas.
OK can I pick your brain? I need an idea now how I clean up my computer keyboard and screen......
Just shows I am not full of ideas.
That sure left a big mess.![]()
Give your computer swimming or flying lessons?

And since I have your attention, and begging Steve's indulgence, how's your truck doing? I haven't seen anything on it in a while.
This is why I never built a car to race on Lake Gairdner.Such a long way to go to break it then bring it home. Hopefully some A progress soon.

I'm not surprised that you're pushing your boundaries. And we all know that you'll learn more from this than most people (other than Andy) are able to learn in a lifetime.![]()

Expensive cleaning suggestion.
Has been too cold, wet and miserable to have either of the trucks out. The F4 needs a clean and the International has the canvas cover off to have the zips repaired so it is locked away as well not wanting to get any thing that is kept in the back wet.
I wonder if 1/2 will indulge us?
We can only do the commissioning out of hours which will involve testing a fail over of our two 250 kva standby generators and load shedding of the air conditioning system and non essential services under a simulated power failure. So it should be fun.
Thank you one and all, enjoy your weekend..![]()
1/2: thanks for the link of the fun stuff to do in your area. is that KINGFISHER touring boat going up rivers where there are maybe crocs and other big critters?
sorry you have to work today, but sounds like you are their MAN so best of luck getting things sorted out.
yep I knew you didn't break that car or that is wasn't your fault when you took the MG (#76) for a spin a while back and hopefully your next trips around the track will be a lot more fun.
here's to feeling better every day!!
cheers
Now this sounds interesting and to work on a weekend I know it is something you very much enjoy. I hope you share more later.
Sounds to me like a day you enjoy and not a day you would call work. You just have to love what you do to enjoy it so much.
Good luck on Wednesday Steve. Prayers for you.
Bret

Drives,
I do believe 1/2 manages all going on due to his outlook on life, work, family, friends, etc. The way he can work and the way he enjoys his work I am sure helps deal with everything else he has to contend with.

HOTFR8 With the hourly rate I am going to charge I will be able to afford contracting out the rest of the restoration.
1/2: great to hear you are helping move your company's electric and power solutions into the next century!!
I can't even imagine doing all the doctor's visits and tests you've had to do this past year, but it seems like it's putting you back on your game so best of luck with the new tests and meds.
take care and prayers again sent!!

yep gotta keep dad busy, he is not one to sit on his come any obstacle!
As dad would thanks for all your support, it not only would mean a heap to him but it also means a lot to Me cheers all![]()

Front end tear down
Sometimes the "family discount" is the only way to get time to work on your own stuff. Unfortunately(or not), I moved 1200 miles away, but am no longer the family mechanic.
Steve, hoping the continued therapy takes care of everything and you can get back on track. Maybe Andrew will let you drive the "old" MGF occasionally.

Had a couple of blood tests myself in the last few weeks (all good) and on one visit I had to say strike 3. Luckily she found a vein on the 3rd attempt. I sure know how you must feel when it comes to pin cushions. I still have the bruise to prove it and if she had not found a vein on the 3rd try I was going to be out the door.
A good outlook on life, work and family etc. must help.
Going to powdercoat it the same color?
