Good news. This in the long term will get you back to Q.S.T.

Sounds that it's going to the desired direction, so good news. Hopefully the CT or PET scan will confirm this.
You can do it ROCKY!![]()
I started reading when you were on page 260 or something like that late 2016 and recently started working my way though from page 1 ALL THE WAY to 260ish because I felt like I opened a 500 page novel in the middle and read to the end. I thought of it as reading the prequel and it did not disappoint. I guess you could say I had 1/2 cup done and I wanted to know what was in the other 1/2 cup
Damn glad to hear the immunotherapy seems to be working !!

Still keeping up Andy !!

It's great that your last tenants left the place in decent condition, you hear so many horror stories. I hope your week off is enjoyable.
1/2: sounds like you'll be having some QST and completing a few of Mrs. 1/2's Honey Do's, but it sounds like a fun next week or two. hopefully the Immunotherapy treatments won't take too much energy out of you so you can function ok.
Six Saturdays and a Sunday for the week is maybe a short look into your future.
cheers

Great tenants pay their bills, keep the place up like they owned it, and don't stay long because they have plans.
Bad tenants don't pay their bills, trash the place, and stay until you have to evict them because they can't manage well enough to find something else. They also leave owing maximum utility bills. They don't have enough money to pay their bills but somehow have enough to collect enormous amounts of trash and damaged good stuff they leave behind.
There seem to be few in between tenants, but some do pay for several years before they become bad tenants.
I admire 1/2 Cup's willingness to wait for a great tenant to come along rather than rent to a bad one. I could never tell them apart.
I bet we see another great tenant in the West Wing.
Andy there is no doubt you have spent years as a landlord. I echo your review to the letter. This is why my cottage is only for guests; and I sure could use the extra income; but I wish to keep the wife!
1/2: having a rental is tough at the best of times and especially one next door to your home where you live makes is all that more difficult and you've really done well with your tenants so far so i will send prayers and hope this continues.
as Andy and BB and i've said good tenants are not the norm so leaving the house vacant for a week or a month or two waiting for a good one makes perfect sense if you are able to do that.
best of luck with all the TO DO'S on both yours and Mrs. 1/2's list and hope you are feeling pretty good after all these treatments too.
cheers (yep I need to make a few more gallons of ice tea now)
1/2 - Glad to hear you had a quick turn around on the rental. And Andrew, the crew chief looks good in his sunglasses and looks very capable of keeping things moving properly.![]()
Good supervision and lots of communications is always a plus.
Good to see progress
Dwight
Love the supervision.
Do the generator and oil filter get a heat shield?
Dad getting some supervision from his grandson Aiden![]()
The final touches to number 76's new power plant, this was a purchased VHPD engine which dad did the final details. This shall be a good stop gap engine unitll I get the chance to arrange a full build with dads input and guidance. This should enable dad to have some space in the shed.

maybe 3 I'll do unsure but definitely 2.

oh- my bad . Given that this is GG , I had to re-read a couple of times as I thought the powerplant was destined for Aiden's trike. Sometimes I just need to concentrate more....
edit: seriously though , looking good ! And I hear your dad on the 100% supervision- too much is not enough !!!

This is an interim solution which we just has to dress, next 2 will be as nice as minemaybe 3 I'll do unsure but definitely 2.

Andrew, Steve, I do love kids in and around workshops and places where hands and brains are put to work.
Of course in this day and age I feel obliged to say “Yes, with supervision, fire proof overalls, helmet, visor, carbon fibre gloves and open toed sandals “ just so they are “safe”
I like that he is inquiring and a busy boy too.
PS. Looking fine.
1/2: that spare engine looks better than anything I'm using driving around here with. WELL DONE!!
yep the little ones sure do like to listen and learn and question and i bet you are and you'll be a fantastic Grampa and role model for yours. even though the little ones might get hurt some of the best lessons are learned from trying and maybe not quite succeeding the first time. hence my using my REAL SAW in my supposedly toy tool kit and cutting through a piece of wood into my index finger and i can still see the scar.
always fun checking in to see what you are up to and happy to hear you approve of the new tenant and I really am saying prayers he's a blessing and helpful and not a user.
Andrew: you'd better keep the old guy around if you are going to keep bringing in and taking out nice looking engines and cars so maybe your prayers should be even more often than mine.
BTW I don't go to a REAL CHURCH cause I like to believe in my own way. Prayers sent that you'll all have a healthy and fun racing season in 2018-2019
1/2: best of luck with the immunotherapy treatments that i'm sure will end soon with a very positive result.
i'm sure as you have time and your Dr. visits quit taking up some of your free time some of those TO DO'S and HONEY DO'S will get started and finished.
take care and have a great week.
Nice one! Three generations of lads keeping each other occupied. Nice engines too. Bet those shiny stainless exhaust headers will look even better after a few hour driving put some colour on them.
Those early days in the shed definitely set me up on a path for life. The day I picked up my dad's largest angle grinder and pulled the trigger while he wasn't looking taught me more about machine safety(and bowel control) than any other safety lecture. Same with every steel splinter I had to pick out by myself.
Hoping the therapy goes well this week
Steve engine looks great, and the grandson I'm sure is an inspiration! Kids having kids that will actually change the would for the better; starting off next to the work instead of the videos. Now that's an inspiration.

So I take it you are making the most of the long weekend for the AFL Grand Final? I do believe you are like me and say do we really need this day?
We should have a long weekend for Bathurst.![]()
I hope the meds work and you get to feel normal and energetic soon.
That's going to be a nice project! Was there some pictures of the earlier port and polish in the thread, I can't remember now? If not, please take some when at work on this one. Or you can still take some new pics, even if there isHopefully you get the QST, have a nice weekend also
![]()
Whilst I'm sceptical that the pre AFL Grand Final parade warrants it's own public holiday, I am certain that it has more merit than the public holiday we also enjoy for a 3 minute horse race in November.
1/2Cup, the cylinder head looks great. Presumably you use a die grinder with a burr and stones to do any mods to ports - do you hand finish with wet and dry paper?

That head looks too nice to use.
You better hope Mrs 1/2 doesn't see you polishing that cylinder head in her house
Hope you start feeling better
BF can I sheepishly reply that it is my house as well:lol_hitti
I should be ok when the new dose of Thyroid tablets kick in hopefully.
Thank you one and all, enjoy your week end:thumbup:
I'm not sure what happened there but it always was on a long weekend ever since I could remember. Then a few years ago, someone changed it so it wouldn't clash with some footy grand final, not sure which one.Very much so HOTFR8
I vote for the Bathurst long week end as it just makes so much sense.![]()

Sure that the VFL grand final used to be on Sandown weekend.
For years we went to Bathurst for the long weekend Hardie Ferodo 500.
Lots of classes, lots of real racing the good old days as they say.
Maybe Mt Buninyong could replace Mt Panorama?
Your pic and description of Aiden's inquisitive nature reminds my of the time I was servicing our swamp cooler on our roof and turned to find our 2 year old standing beside me. He climbed a 7' stepladder, went over the guttering onto the garage roof, then transitioned onto the main roof. Mind you, he has Muscular Dystrophy and couldn't walk very well, even for his young age. He acted like it was no big deal as I grabbed him and hugged him tightly as we made our way off the roof! they keep you on your toes!
All the best on the following treatments ans especially the outcome! T&P your way, Steve!

Glad to hear your you are still on the right track with your health Steve.
Time heals,
Cheers, lyndsay

Oh man!!! The porting and polishing look great. You definitely have the gift and the patience for that craft. Well done.
Bob
Sorry 1/2 to side track.
Looks like you are having a great time in the Shed this weekend.
OK. I should up the stakes. We have a holiday for a Horse Race Melbourne Cup.
We have a holiday for a street parade pre AFL grand final.
We need a week for a holiday with Bathurst.

Given we are talking about state rather than federal holidays, it looks like we'd have to accrue yet another major sporting event for Victoria. Maybe Mt Buninyong could replace Mt Panorama?
