Great of you to post some photos of your Dad and keep this looking like your Dads topic.
That bottom photo is just how I remember your Dad and his shed.

That wiring diagram does look familiar.

The last entry into Dads Flight log book was his all time favourite, the P51D Mustang

Great mementos, Andrew, thanks for posting!!

As meticulous as 1/2Cup was, when someone posted something they built that looked like a six year old had done it (or me:bounce:) he could always find something positive to say, even if it was "You had some quality shed time, mate".

Thought I had posted this in here already.

Obviously not.

These Arrived in St Louis yesterday

For @CraigRK and @djones1 and myself.

Thank you very much for forwarding these on to us.

I suspect Dennis may let us know where his is going to go.

Craig, who knows, he has such a variety of possible places to post it.

Me........?

Not sure yet, certainly indoors for starters, just to sit and enjoy, reflect, and talk about Steve’s legacy to anyone who will listen, there is always a chance to pay it forward in a life lesson for others.

Thanks again for the effort you are putting in for all of us.

Thanks for sharing those, obviously very personal, photos Andrew, it's great to get a further glimpse into Steve's life. Everything I've seen leads me to believe your Dad was a great man.

Some of the stuff I've posted over the years was actually done by a six year old, and some of the stuff I've done probably looks like it was! Steve always had a kind word either way.

Got some stickers from Gazza, thanks mate! I'll post more photos when I find a better place for them...

My casting arrived yesterday...

20190717-01.jpg 20190717-02.jpg 20190717-03.jpg

I decided the place for it was on the Palace of Industrial Progress steel sign that is over the double door that separates the Woodshop from the Auto/Metal Shop. It is so very nice to have this visible reminder of 1/2 Cup & Quality Shed Time.

Looks like I have to clarify yet again.

I'll ask this kindly to all members. This is now Andrew 357's topic. Anything on the stickers and castings should be posted in the Free Parking topic. We are seeing a lot of double up postings in both topics and in respect for our Mate 1/2 I do believe it should not happen. Please kindly consider what you post and how you post it.

Both Gary and Andy have topics you can post thanks to if you have got stickers or castings.

:thumbup: Thanks Guys :beer::)

If you want a casting or sticker please do so in the topics related to ordering them.

If you want to post how you have mounted or placed a sticker to honor our mate 1/2Cup then please do so in this topic.

Dear All,

I'm unsure of the GJ rules, processes and procedures however I would like to say the following.

Many thanks the Church family.

As Andrew posted above his family and friends have a link to this topic and like me they want to see how we are honoring Steve.

I have tried to get the message across a couple of times and I am asking this again please and that you respect what has been asked.

I have moved and I have deleted posts and I will continue to do so and I know some of you are not happy.

Andrew, Thank you as this means 100% more to me than anything else you could have sent me. Many of these images I have seen posted before on the forum by your Dad but to have this means a lot more to me.

I have a bundle of them and I will be sending them to RixTrix1 some time during August so he can post them to any member in the USA that may like one. This I am doing as a request from Andrew. I am sure many members will appreciate you making them available like this.

Andrew, that lighting sketch says more about your Dad (to me anyway) than most pictures. I find myself inspired to do a bit better as a Dad and indeed as a person at large after seeing these last few posts. Thank you for sharing these insights into your Dad’s life.

Andrew that photo card is a great idea. Good on ya!

Being your dad is a sparky I place my QST reminder in honor of him on my shop’s main panel.

One of those would look pretty nice in the centre of the race car steering wheel.
Every time you race it would give you an honest dose of good Karma :) That little engine has your Dad's love in every spark of the plugs.

Today my shop was blessed with two reminders of a friend I never met. Now I have to find a fitting and permanent home, at least for the sticker. The casting can move around. And after seeing what Bob Heine did, I might have a little work to do first. 4d65e9e82beef110c190e9a2547345af.jpga16f7516c7fa39ecece13157bbe8843a.jpgbbd9bbeb3d60d806a95827c82aafe299.jpg2ecb239a5fd588f197328113cd2113c0.jpg

3 actually! 2 bookmarks and an engraved 1/2 Works engine plate.

Thanks Andrew!

It's got pride of place on the top of my brother's toolbox that I got after he passed away 10 years ago. It's just held on with double sided tape at the moment, but I think I need to find some nice stainless screws, which will be nicely clocked of course.

I had the following arrive yesterday:

IMG_9106.JPG

Thank you very much. I will use the 1/2 Works sign and one of the bookmarks in the memorial that just two more things need to arrive before I can commence work on.

But the 2nd bookmark went straight to work in the current book I am slowly reading:

IMG_9107.JPG

(Adrian Newey's autobiography)

So - thanks, and know that they will be used to remember a great man.

Andrew...

Received my 1/2 WORKS engine plate and bookmarks today, THANK YOU very much.... Unfortunately I cannot post a picture of them because I do not know how to get pictures onto the computer..... :lol_hitti
Sounds like good incentive to get off my lazy *** and learn how....

Have not decided where to put engine plate yet...
Have the QST casting from Andy mounted on the electric panel in my shed as someone else suggested earlier....

Again Thank You.... Lynn W

Andrew,
As posted in the Free Parking Sticky thread. I've received the stickers from Gazza for distribution in Canada and still have some left for any Canucks that still want one!
You've got some big shoes of your father to fill there Andrew but I'm sure you're up to the task!

Cheers!

My casting arrived while we were on vacation. It's very-cool! My wife the engineer thought-so too. I used it to quiz our teenage grandsons about smelting, casting alloys and sand-cast process. It was a pleasant surprise to hear that they could answer the questions.

My shop dog approves too.

Mine is #55. It will proudly be displayed where people can see it and ask questions. "Half-Cup" (or, "1/2-Cup") will be mentioned each time, he who watches over us in our shop efforts, keeping us safe, and helping us to solve problems.

Andy, thank you again for the badge, it showed up a couple days ago and now resides in a spot that I’ll see often.

It’ll be a reminder to take some time out of life and enjoy what’s important to me and I’m not just talking about the shop.
