Oh man, that does hit hard.

So sorry for your loss Andrew.

I think about your Dad often, and I have several reminders of him in my shed now, so I always will.

Andrew that does bring a form of finality. Way too early. Yesterday I was thinking about what I need to do this weekend. Taking advice from your dad I made a to-do list. 3b88d65a075aac4fa70a1aa00fc87339.jpg He lives on in you and a lot of us on GJ.

I never met your dad, and I'm all teared up. I can't imagine your family.

Thanks for support, it's even harder to see the flower arrangement from his coffin still there, let along the the reminder I had part in choosing them.
Ouch is all I can say

Feel the hurt, yes , I'm with you on that one. Dad has touched many in ways that only he could for which I'm great full.

Andrew that hits like a punch to the stomach :(

Oh my dad and clocking screws, he did that with everything he touched, painful but now I appreciate the importance :lol_hitti

I'd never come across clocking screws until I came on here, now I can't NOT see unclocked screws everywhere! :Twitch:

My QST stickers and plaque arrived recently. The sticker has been centred on the toolbox lid, and I've got an interesting idea on where I can mount the plaque down the track.

His loss whispers in the absent posts of those whose spirit wanders with him. Through the silent pages of a journal more sparingly noted screams the intensity of our grief!

Andrew,

Many places I stopped whilst I was traveling I was able to hear from those I met up the legacy your Dad and our mate left us. To think I shared my plans to travel with him before he passed and was able to hear from him what he thaught of my plans meant so much to me. To then have to travel and deliver book marks and stickers to those I met up with was a hard thing to do.

I left a Eureka Flag with Don Long for his Party Garage and this gift met with the approval from your Dad.

Andrew and family,
Seeing the picture of the marker hit me hard today too, especially since I received this from Andy today.
View media item 96227I also have stickers from Gazza that I am mailing to any members in Canada that want them - as my very small part in honoring Steve.

Your dad has touched so many people's lives all over the world!

Continued best wishes to you and all of your family!

Cheers!

Andrew: I still have a hard time just logging on to GJ knowing that your dad and I won't be able to share a quick good word or solve a problem. He was an amazing guy and I wish I'd have met him in person, but in talking to him online for years i feel I got to know him pretty well.

I can't tell you the pain will go away for your loss, but as most have said time will heal and as i'm sure there were times you and dad disagreed I know there were great times to remember so hang on to those and i'm sure he'll be whispering in your ear a lot.

be strong as you can and enjoy your life knowing that he will always be there teaching you and helping you along the way.

that grave marker really had me a few days ago and i'm still having a hard time typing this. i'll type more about your dad once I gather my thoughts if you'd like, but what i remember most about him is that he loved his family and life and he ALWAYS WAS POSITIVE even if he had something not going perfect at the time.

take care

Andrew,

This will make it the first time for me posting on GJ.. I've been a long time lurker and avid reader nevertheless.

I dwell in small bits and pieces of handiwork around the house when I get some time.

Deepest condolences to you and your family - I've not been on the forum in recent months and am shocked at what I have just read on your dad's passing.

I have actually exchanged a number of private messages with your dad here on GJ when I needed help and advise on what to do and echoing others here, he helped and have his tips and words of encouragement like no other.

He brought on a very unique quality of making everyone feel welcome that makes me feel like it's ok to have a go at things and that no question is too big or small to just ask..

He will be greatly missed for sure.

Ya know, I was working on a project in my basement last night. I was looking at the screws as I was tightening them and as I've come to be accustom to do, I clocked them.

Andrew, I hope all is as well as it can be for you and your family.. God bless!!

All,
Many thanks for the sincere and heartfelt posts and msgs, it's been a while since I have posted. Nevertheless I'm back, Father's Day way a huge kick in the pants, I missed my Dad no end.
In a positive note I have managed to run Dads A model under electric power, I have hooked the engine up to cycle it via the starter motor- to see it rotate freely without a crank handle was a beautiful sight.
I have just need to get the junction box from the west wing garage and I'll be able to start Dads A model under its own power for the first time in many years-possibly over 15 years, I'm really looking forward to it.

Many thanks to the beautiful sand castings, gifts, and gestures for good will, I and my family cannot speak or think kindly enough of all the support you all have given to Dad and us as a family.

A few pics shall be posted Soon

Regards Andrew - 1/4 Cup.

Well it's been some 15 years since Dad started his Model A Ford, since his birthday is the 16 th of October - I thought I better get onto it. I had to build a temporary firewall to attach some necessities, wire it up..... now it's just add fuel ....

Many thanks to the GJ team for your support and respect of Dad.

Andrew: I still think of your DAD every time I log on to GJ which is almost daily along with trimming my yard and a number of things we both shared interests in.

I thank you for keeping his thread alive and also doing you best to finish up a few of his projects he was working on. like he said there will always be a TO DO LIST and happy to hear you are trying to check off one of his biggies by starting up his and now your MODEL A.

good luck and hope it runs like all his engines did after he did his magic to them.
