So I hit a MAJOR milestone yesterday.

Dried in.jpg

That's right ladies and germs, it's dried in!!!! After 3 1/2 years, Momma's She Shed is pretty much weather tight. Gonna put in some W ties in the trusses, more pressure treated around the bottom, and when the scrap from the SE corner is gone, we'll be able to put the last 3 pieces of trim on. But for all intents and purposes, I'm done with it structurally. On to the paint booth, the carport and electrical upgrade on all 3 out-buildings. So looking forward to getting the place cleaned back up! What a freaking mess.

Thanks guys. It looks better in the pics than it is, but it'll function well. For my first, and hopefully last major build. I'm satisfied. Thanks again gents.

Next projects are build an external paint booth and get all our vehicles back to health.

........................and get this thread caught up.

I'm BAACCKKKKK!!! Are you afraid? You should be. I went back several pages and didn't see this bit of news, so if it's a dup, too bad.

I got a part time gig working for a boss I think is pretty hot. I might be biased seeing as I married her. I was volunteer until this week, but now I'm a part time employee of MSU Extension in Midland county (think 4-H, but a lot more). I work teaching middle school and HOPEFULLY high school kids programming and robot building. We're starting off with Sphero-bolts+ and using I-pads to write the block code with.

And just so you know I'm no better at work than I am at home, my side of the room now shows that I clearly suffer from FSD. (pics taken last fall)

After yesterday I feel like I wanted to hire a young person to stand at the end of our driveway wearing one of those orange mesh vests and hold one of those signs that says “Stop” on one side and “Slow” on the other. I felt I was working for the county road commission putting down cold patch. Does anyone of my college friends feel like making a ¼ scale version of the road commission arrow signs to pull behind Robin’s garden tractor?

You get to ride a tuber to work. I can send you some old battered stop/slow paddles if you pay for shipping.

My ride to work is about 75'-100' now, but yeah I have a Buell Cyclone. Can't tell from your avatar, what do you ride?

That old dumper is sure earning its keep with that load of gravel.

Can you tailgate the gravel with that truck?

Yeah, I loaded the Girlfriend heavy on that trip. I built that feature into the truck when I redid the box, but I'm not the best at laying it down. My excuse is that I've only done it 2 or 3 times. Is the syrup going any better?

I'm back. Are you afraid? Ok, so I'm not posting very much, because life is hectic. First, I finally got the hair dryer (turbo) replaced in the Sonic.

I also had a minor booboo, ok a major ouch, with the neighbor's Kubota. A $1500 ouch. I didn't see the retaining pin fall out, and then all hell broke loose. I picked up the parts today and hope to have it back on-line tomorrow.

I also fixed his barn door that came apart during one of our wind storms.

I don't know how it's possible but I've heard from many people that they are busier in retirement than they were while they were working.

That ***** about your neighbors tractor. Is it just that bracket that is busted? In the one pic it looks like the cylinder is bent too.
2 brackets and the ram were toast. The ram ended up pretty bent.

And yeah, I'm a lot busier than when I was working, though if I feel like taking an hour for a nap, the boss won't get mad.

so when I read this I thought for sure there was a ER trip in there somewhere! Hope it all goes together and works how it needs to.

I should start a pool on when you will have your first ER trip since your just busy working for your self now?

Any takers?

over or under on a year or less?
or wann play high stakes and say 6 months?

I hope it a good long time before your next ER visit but this is you and best can hope for is you walk in and walk out in the same day!

All in good fun keep up the great work and post us pics of how your getting things done!

I can't keep it in. I'm guessing every single one of you just lost on any bet you were going to lay down. The old compressor let loose a huge blast of air and didn't stop until it was drained, so we decided to replace it. I was super cautious getting it out of its cabinet up on the wall. When I got it on the ground, I needed to take it off the pallet in order to get the new one up in the hole. Wasn't so cautious, didn't think it was going to be a big deal. Guess I was wrong. Any one pick November 24th?

Made it about 3 months. Freaked Robin and Molly out, but due to Shorty's safety lessons, I was mellow. We had a great time in the ER that Sunday evening. The comedy show was incredible.

Wow, @xtremek, that's gnarly!

OUCH:eek::eek:

That hurts just looking at it!

Damn Kirk,
That looks nasty!
Are you ok now?

That must have stung a little at the time. :lol_hitti

Damn Kirk that looks nasty! Hopefully you were up and going pretty quick?
Yeah, it hurt for a moment or two. But I was up and running the next day, just a lot slower. Learned a lesson on my toe and shoulder fixes, the sooner you return to being active, the better everything heals.

The trouble with retirement is that we look forward to doing all the stuff we didn't have time to do, and imagine going at it like we are 25, instead of retirement age with a retirement body. Easy does it. Ask me how I know!
Boy did you nail that one, Prospector. I need to get the heavy lifting done in the next couple of years before I run out of the strength to do this stuff. I tried telling my wife this, but she doesn't get the urgency.
