That is one of the best parts of this forum, lots of perspectives, a lot of them are wrong, but hey, not everyone can be like me. ;)

Even though we’re pretty ghetto around here, we use nothing but the best trash for our projects. This is the wall between the sections of the duck house. In case you can’t see it, the wall is made out of Tesla packing crates. There are enough that I’ll use them for the ceiling for the duck area of the shed.

Now time for your opinion. I have dozens of collets (and taper drills) and I want to make a rack for them. I’m thinking of cutting a bunch of PVC (that I had left over from my airlines 😉) and angling them in 5 or 6 columns of 10-15 angled rows, put them in a frame, and then hang them on the wall. Any suggestions on how to put this all together?

Kirk, I would angle the bottom of the frame and make the frame the width of your row of PVC pipes. I'd bond the PVC pipe together with a bead of clear PVC cement. To hold the matrix of pipes in the frame, screw through a few of the pipes into the frame. I'd drill through the open end of the pipe at an angle and countersink the screw flush in the pipe wall.

Most car guys would pay extra to have a Tesla crate wall instead of boring drywall.

Bob, I think you've given me the part of the puzzle I was looking for. I'm not going to use all of your suggestion, but you've solved the part that was hanging me up.

Kev, it is pretty cool, but the stuff is less than a 1/4" thick. Still it works for this application. Let me know how pulling the interior goes.

Wow! The Tesla crate material make a great looking wall or wall covering. Maybe thin material but should still be a little more resistant to dings and bumps than drywall, especially in a garage setting. They look great.

Thanks. It was the right price ($0), quick, and easy. It's so my wife doesn't have to look at the lawn equipment when she goes into her portion of the shed. Having that up meant that I could finally put up most of the lawn furniture. Only a few months behind.

 I'm too lazy to put stenciling on anything that doesn't move or need to be labeled. I had the wife do it. Seriously, my old man can find the coolest/weirdest stuff in the strangest places. He even has my kids doing it.

And I didn't forget you COB, I'm being lazy and including you on this.

For those of you in the States, I pray that this holiday brings you good times with friends and family in this celebration. I hope you find the time to remember your blessings, however small.

The rest of the world, I hope you **** lemons.

Sorry, I can't play it straight all of the time.

Hey Welder, thanks for the compliment and dropping by. I don't have much talent, but I have a ton stubbornness, and that gets me pretty far.

Everything but dash and rear seatbelts pulled and stored. Done for the winter. Now onto maintenance on the AWD to get ready for winter. Put a cap and rotor on yesterday, along with pulling the rear disc brakes apart. Rear disk kit should be in Tuesday afternoon.
One more to wrench on after this one, hope to be finished in the next 2 weeks, we're hosting Christmas this year.

Kev, I think you and I are on the same schedule, WAY BEHIND. I still have brake lines to replace on the Tblazer.

Just so you don’t think I’m a lazy bum, I did finally get around to fixing the middle daughter’s Cruze. The gear for the defroster blend door broke. Took about 6 hours to tear it apart and get the gear in. Only took about ½ hour to put it back together. After that, I did an oil change on it. I finally got all of the pool stuff put away for the winter, though I’d still like to drain another foot of water out of the pool.

Gotta love newer vehicles, getting them open is usually the hard part. Maybe next time if you use a bigger hammer.......

I haven’t been a total slacker. I’ve got a special project I’ll unveil after Christmas. Also, last week Bambi decided to give me a love pat and lay on the hood of my car while I was travelling 65mph down the road. On top of it, she was such an evil wench, she left me a steaming pile on my hood after adding to the fender damage from the last deer. I was lucky that the bone yard near work had a fender to replace the one she busted (even close color match). Pop-rivet some aluminum sheet to the busted inner fender, put the new fender on and the car looks decent for a 27year old beater.

Must be a Saturn thing. We were up at deer camp last year when my friends kid calls. "Dad, a deer just ran into the side of the car". Busted a big ol hunk out of the same fender as yours.

Kev lol, I'd agree with you, but I've had a few deer hit my Sonics as well.

xtremek you are lucky there wasn't more damage.

Steve, I'm getting used to it. I get hit about once a year. It has to do with the time of day, 4:30-5 am, I think.

They are so dumb about cars too.
About 6 years ago I came around a 35 mph curve and there was an 8 pointer standing on the side of the road.
I got on the binders hard and got down to 10-15. Just when I thought he would stay put, he walks onto the road in front of me.
He got a nice trip across my hood and punted into the ditch on the other side. *******.

I love it when they run into the side of your car, or try and jump over it like they are filming an episode of jackass.

Have you ever been so deep in a project you forget what’s going on around you, and the next thing you look up and you can’t see a horizontal surface anywhere? Working on a Christmas gift, and this just “happened” to the shop. I started cleaning up the bench. I hope I can have it mostly cleaned up by the weekend.

Ok guys, I know I'm no Jack Olsen, but there is a limit to the clutter that I can tolerate , but even more important, I can work in. When I was a kid, I could work in a huge mess and remember exactly where I put that stupid 10-32 nut in a 40'x60' barn. Now I can't find the screwdriver I just sat down. Anyway, I'm glad I'm in very good company.
